Is there a good website online where I can ask medical questions[edit]

I would like to ask a question about birth control pills but this isn't probably the best place to ask. Is there a good appropriate website online where I can ask medical questions? 2001:569:7D97:D200:602D:A1A5:B83:AE33 (talk) 02:24, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If it's about contraceptives, the most obvious place to go could be Planned Parenthood.[1] For more general subject questions, WebMD might be a good option.[2]Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:58, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No. Why don't you ask your local pharmacist about such things? He is trained, licensed and authorized to dispense information and advice in this field. And I have never known a pharmacist to refuse advice even if I have not made a purchase there. 2600:8800:1880:68:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 06:49, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
off-topic and evidently confusing the OP – 10:04, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Or indeed she is trained.... Fgf10 (talk) 14:30, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Don't be shitty. My pronouns are, by default, gender-inclusive. 2600:8800:1880:68:5604:A6FF:FE38:4B26 (talk) 23:36, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
He is gender inclusive? New one on me. You're the one being shitty assuming pharmacists are male, it's offensive. Fgf10 (talk) 10:31, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think it assumes female pharmacists have no issue with being referred to with the (by default "gender-inclusive") pronoun he. If it had meant to be non-inclusive, it would have disambiguated the pronoun by writing "A male he is trained, licensed and authorized ...".  --Lambiam 13:08, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
See Gender neutrality in languages with gendered third-person pronouns. The "generic he" has been used in English for centuries, I find it hard to believe that you have never heard of it. --Khajidha (talk) 15:20, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but that is ridiculous. That sort of sexist language hasn't been acceptable in civilised society for decades, and I'm quite frankly shocked to see it on here. The correct pronoun is obviously "they". Fgf10 (talk) 15:27, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
By whose default? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 00:45, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if my question has caused problems. 2001:569:7D97:D200:602D:A1A5:B83:AE33 (talk) 04:09, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Don’t be. Just ignore the off-topic part of the discussion (this kind of thing is unfortunately sometimes inevitable here at Wikipedia, where the editors tend to be headstrong know-it-alls and therefore each one is of course always in the right). Cheers 10:04, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lawsuit against Nissan CVT[edit]

How can I sue Nissan for a 2019 pathfinder CVT failure — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.173.75.200 (talk) 08:29, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why would you ask that question here? Go and see a lawyer. --Viennese Waltz 09:58, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
More specifically, if you are in a jurisdiction that has class actions, you will likely want to consult a lawyer who specializes in such, and probably more specifically in automotive class actions. --47.155.96.47 (talk) 19:19, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think obviously, the most important question to ask is has the failure of your vehicle caused an accident in which you or another individual (s) were injured?--🌀Locomotive207-talk🌀 23:20, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't decide if my inquiry belongs in Language or Humanities, so I've posted it here.
This figure from Revelation is also referred to in the Wikipedia article's title by another name. My questions are:

  • What word in the early manuscripts was translated into English as the 5-letter W word?
  • Is it possible that the original word had any negative connotations like the English 5-letter W word?

MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 17:01, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

By the "5-letter W word" I assume you mean whore? Our article Babylon the Great explains this "πόρνη: From Greek. Fr. transliteration; pornē; English; prostitute/whore. 2) Metaphor; an idolatress; a) of "Babylon" i.e. Rome, the chief seat of idolatry. "Dictionary and Word Search for pornē (Strong's 4204)". Blue Letter Bible. 1996–2011". DuncanHill (talk) 18:03, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
pornē is the root for pornography, "Writings about prostitutes". --Error (talk) 18:37, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why is wikipedia and google using a picture for south norwood so old there is a branch of blockbusters in it?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.40.29.15 (talk) 20:12, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you're in the area, take a photo or ask friend who's good at photography to do so, and we'll use it. Temerarius (talk) 20:47, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The image in question was taken in 2007. Category:South Norwood clock tower has some more recent images, but none newer than 2014. Apparently the Alliance Hotel opposite has since changed its name too. Alansplodge (talk) 21:50, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
How far is it from Leeds to London? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 22:25, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
About 180 miles from central Leeds to South Norwood should a crow be inclined to fly it, around 220 by road, depending on the route. Rather a long way for a casual user to go, during intermittent local lockdowns with non-essential travel discouraged, just to take a possibly useful picture, no? {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.197.27.217 (talk) 04:19, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It depends how badly the OP wants to see a more recent pic. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 04:31, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why does the clock tower look very dark in most photos but almost white in one of the photos? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:41, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Because it got repainted. --Viennese Waltz 07:36, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
South Norwood has existed for a couple of centuries, and the Clock Tower, which the picture in question explicitly illustrates, was erected in 1907; there's no reason that all the photos in the article have to be bang up to date – we are not a directory. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.197.27.217 (talk) 09:01, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the year in the caption. Clarityfiend (talk) 19:46, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In Google Maps Street View, the clock tower looks about the same as it did in 2007. Fittingly, the former Blockbuster site is now home to a funeral director. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:38, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
