June 2022[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Orange Mike | Talk 23:48, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand why I was blocked and I will do my best to not repeat these mistakes. As a new account user on Wikipedia, I am slowly learning what is acceptable and what is not. The page I created was not intended to be for promotional purposes but I sincerely apologize if that is what it came across as. If granted the ability to edit again, I will do my best to provide edits that are as unbiased as possible.

Decline reason:

This does not tell us what you plan to write about, now that you know you won't be unblocked to write about XenData. Yamla (talk) 18:21, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I intend to write about what XenData is and what it is they do and update it along the way as industry trends change. XenData (talk) 18:35, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Please reconsider my account to be unblocked. This block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption. I understand why I was blocked and I would like to change my username to comply with the username policy. My article was not intended to be used for promotional purposes and it does not suggest anything promotional but I understand it needs improvement and I would like to see it improve and grow with the help of editors. As a newcomer, it may take some time for me to get accustomed to how things work and I will definitely take this as a learning experience to not repeat the same mistakes and to be compliant with Wikipedia's policies. I am here because I have a keen eye for detail and I would like to use my abilities to improve articles. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Daniel Case (talk) 06:17, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What sort of articles would you edit, what contributions would you make, if you were unblocked? Daniel Case (talk) 06:33, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to edit articles in the Comics and Anime category since I quite enjoy reading and watching these. I can provide some insight and clarification especially in the anime articles that use terms that are unique in the show. XenData (talk) 15:51, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, can you identify some specific articles you would improve or expand? What specifically would you do? What sources would you use? Daniel Case (talk) 06:14, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I came across an article for the anime called "Soul Eater". It consisted of terms that are unique in the show and I wanted to ensure that it had a description and/or link to a description. I would like to help improve on other articles of mainstream animes such as Fairy Tail, Demon Slayer, Hunter x Hunter to name a few. I would research what those unique terms mean in Wikipedia if they exist and link it back to the main article or find the explanations outside of Wikipedia and cite it as a source. I can also refer to the animes themselves for more credibility. XenData (talk) 15:49, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright ... I will see how the blocking admin feels about unblocking. Daniel Case (talk) 06:07, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I appreciate it. XenData (talk) 19:31, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

XenData moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, XenData, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I re-submitted my article for review by mistake. I meant to save my changes as a draft. Please disregard my submission as I am still in the process of finding reliable, secondary sources for my article. Animay16 (talk) 23:41, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request for help![edit]

Would it be possible to request for help from other editors to refine my draft article called XenData so that it's polished enough to be published into mainspace? Animay16 (talk) 21:11, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for being frank, but it needs more than polishing. It needs to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage say about XenData, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Significant coverage goes beyond the mere reporting of the activities of the company and goes into detail about its significance or influence. The sources you have offered are
  1. an interview with the CEO, which is not independent
  2. a blog which basically advertises the company, blogs are generally not reliable sources as they lack fact checking and editorial control
  3. a brief mention of the company
  4. an announcement of a routine business activity
  5. a product announcement, another routine business activity
  6. an announcement of a business agreement, another routine activity, and the source is also not independent
  7. another product announcement
  8. is paywalled but doesn't seem much different
These do not establish notability.
If you have an association with the company, that needs to be declared, see WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 22:37, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, thank you for being honest. I appreciate the feedback. I associate with the company which would make me a conflict of interest and I understand that I should not be editing this any longer. Would it be possible to request help from other editors to re-write the XenData article so that it would be eligible to be published into mainspace?
