The Commons Ambassador Barnstar
Great to see so many fine pictures you have added to Commons and to our articles here. Thanks a bunch!--MONGO 06:27, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
I didn't even know about that barnstar. I was surprised that I've added over 900 pictures. I'm a little curious about the number of species I've illustrated. I'll never catch up with Stan Shebs, though. Thank you for the Barnstar. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 13:31, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

2002 AA29 image fair use disputed

Hi, please see my comment on Image talk:Asteroid 2002 AA29.quasi-sattelite orbit.gif. KTC 22:22, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Replied there. Walter Siegmund (talk) 00:17, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Nice Rampart Ridge pics

Very nice --- one of my favorite spots in the ALW. I don't mind that you replaced the pic of Mount Stuart (although I wonder, instead, if the third pic should show a different locale within the Wilderness, like near Mount Daniel? Do you have something like that? I can dig something up at flickr.) hike395 03:22, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. I thought about that, but, I don't think I have any good images of Mt. Daniel. That is a good idea to see if one is available for upload. I have pictures from Thunder Mountain, Tonga Ridge and Paddy-Go-Easy Pass. Only the last have been uploaded. They are in Commons:Wenatchee_National_Forest. I'll see about uploading Tonga Ridge. What about flora and fauna of Alpine Lakes Wilderness? Maybe, I can write something on that this winter. Walter Siegmund (talk) 03:43, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Walt...if you have time, can you look over the above linked article. Peltoms created it, but it appears to be a copyvio and has been tagged for speedy deletion...I'll try and examine how we can clean it up, but this won't happen until late tonight.--MONGO 18:02, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Walt...nice work.--MONGO 05:48, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Howdy

Just wanted to say hi. I got your e-mail, but I've been rather distracted lately. Luckily, it seems I have a medical excuse for that sort of thing now. :) I got to see a lovely slice of the valley last weekend, unfortunately I was too busy pedaling to take any pictures. TTYL, Katr67 17:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Katr67; It's good to hear from you. That looks like a splendid ride. I hope you were not very inattentive! I hiked to Alta Mountain two weeks ago, but the weather has been unfavorable since. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 19:36, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
No kidding about the weather. So much for hiking! hike395 02:31, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? was updated. On 13 October, 2007, a fact from the article Tidewater glacier cycle, which you recently nominated, was featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Glaciers

Hi, Walter.
I've uploaded few images of glaciers. The quality is worse than bad, but you're welcome to take a look, if you wish. Here's the image that may be usefull. It shows a glacier with a hole (cave). There were many glaciers like this in Antarctica. Otherwise here's the link that you've already known about. At the end of this set you could find more bad quality glacier images.
Regards.--Mbz1 16:06, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi Mbz1; Those are splendid photographs and many are rare and difficult to obtain. The cave image is interesting and I especially admire Glacier_and_iceberg.jpg and Orcas_and_penguins.jpg. Thank you. Walter Siegmund (talk) 18:38, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

RfA

I considered not spamming talk pages but not saying "thanks" just isn't me. The support was remarkable and appreciated. I only hope that I am able to help a little on here. Please let me know if I can help you or equally if you find any of my actions questionable. Thanks & regards --Herby talk thyme 12:24, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
