July 2010[edit]

Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Ithaca, New York, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. —Bill Price(notyourbroom) 21:44, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Ayurveda Official Photo - May 2010 (Heather Ainsworth).jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ayurveda Official Photo - May 2010 (Heather Ainsworth).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 00:07, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A photo has been deleted on my page for copyright issues. I have authorization (via e-mail) from the photographer to use the photo. I cited that when I posted the pic...deleted anyway.

Also, once I resolve the above issue, I'll be close to "launching" my page. How exactly do I do that?

As noted in the section below, you need to forward the permission to WP:OTRS staff.--SPhilbrickT 19:59, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If the permission to use these photos is received by the WP:OTRS staff, one of the admins there will be able to restore the image with the proper licensing. Please double-check that you have followed the directions at the OTRS web page. Skier Dude (talk 04:37, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How to start the article[edit]

First, you should learn about <ref> tags which create footnotes in your article. Then you should decide whether the reviews of the band come from reliable sources. If the reliable sources support the facts in the article, add footnotes to those articles. It is best that only information found in reliable sources should be contained in the article. Also, if you are connected to the band, you should declare your conflict of interest. If the article is well sourced, the band meets the notability requirements, and there are no conflict of interest problems, you can click on the move tab of the article and move it into the main article space. If you have conflict of interest problems, you can request someone else to create or review the article for you. Racepacket (talk) 15:04, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding photo permissions, you should forward the email from the photographer (or have her send an email directly) to the OTRS staff with the statement of permission. You do not load the photo at the OTRS page. Include in the email the file name of the deleted photo and ask them to undelete the file. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 15:10, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
