Hello WNJCA. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:WNJCA. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WNJCA|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 12:15, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am not being paid for this entry. WNJCA (talk) 12:57, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have any form of paid relationship with Simmons? What is the nature of your connection to him? 331dot (talk) 14:54, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No I do not have a paid relationship with JoJo Simmons. WNJCA (talk) 14:56, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I ask again, what is the nature of your connection to him? 331dot (talk) 15:03, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I repeat again. I am not paid by JoJo Simmons. I am based in the UK not America. I have no relationship with him. He is in the public domain and nobody listed him on wikipedia, so I attempted to so. Yet, it seems quite a challenge. WNJCA (talk) 15:08, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Initially you said "I am not paid for this entry". Do you intend to write other articles for payment?
Writing a new article is the most difficult task to perform on Wikipedia; we usually recommend that new users first gain experience and knowledge by editing existing articles, and doing things like the new user tutorial. 331dot (talk) 15:22, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No I am not planning on taking payment now or in the near future. I noticed that JoJo and his wife Tanice were not listed on Wiki, and clearly wiki authors had missed them off. There was me thinking I was being helpful. Hmmmm must have been mistaken. Maybe you would like to do their write ups and I will stick with reading them. WNJCA (talk) 15:27, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you have no connection as you stated, that's fine; you've just have unwittingly, it seems, given off many red flags for possible connections. 331dot (talk) 16:41, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you recently removed content from Draft:JoJo Simmons without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. I decided to re-write it as it was easier to do so, I followed a similar format on JoJo's dad. His dad is Hip Hop Royalty. WNJCA (talk) 14:33, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I have added his Instagram which is a verified account. When I linked to his family on the first post, I think it created some kind of warning that SEO tactics were being used. This is not the case. All his family are famous and for some reason, he and his wife never had their own wiiki pages. WNJCA (talk) 15:58, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is entirely irrelevant that his Instagram is a verified account, Instagram is NOT a reliable independent source, so cannot be used to establish any notability. Theroadislong (talk) 16:42, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That his family merits articles(the preferred term, not the broader "pages") does not automatically mean that he does, see WP:NOTINHERITED. He must receive significant coverage in independent sources. 331dot (talk) 16:46, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Would you deem Getty images as a reputable source? https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/jojo-simmons-attends-hip-hop-50-live-at-yankee-stadium-on-news-photo/1609340040?adppopup=true as it is the 50th Anniversary Year of Hip Hop, therefore many artist need updating with their families who have forged careers. Growing Up Hip Hop TV Show is a prime example of this, yet you cannot class IMDB as a reliable source. WNJCA (talk) 17:29, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is just a photo with a caption documenting that he attended an event. What is needed are independent reliable sources with significant coverage of Simmons- coverage beyond his activities or brief mentions, coverage that goes into significant detail about his importance/significance/influence.
Your draft is entirely unsourced, where did you get this information? You have gone about this backwards- instead of writing a text and looking for sources to support it, you need to first find the sources so that you can then summarize them. Please see Your First Article. 331dot (talk) 19:12, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WNJCA An earlier version had 19 refs, but most were not Wikipedia allowed. Review all those to see if any meet standards (WP:42). Note that having relatives who are subjects of Wikipedia articles is not contagious - it needs refs for JoJo. David notMD (talk) 15:58, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
