June 2014[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Unite_Against_Fascism. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 15:06, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are very well aware there is no edit war on the UAF pages at the moment, there is a discussion on the talk page as to how to describe an incident involving the group, a discussion that you are participating in and now seem very keen to shut down.
As you mentioned above that is the correct place to have the discussion in order to attempt to reach a consensus. You should probably refresh your interpretation of editing from a Nuetral Point Of View (NPOV). Thank you Vanzil (talk) 17:46, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is no edit war now. You did hit 3RR but that was on the 21st, I must have misread the dates but in any case it's important that new editors understand about edit warring. I do appreciate your advice on using Wikipedia, the top section of this help page, that you provided, has been extremely useful in helping me to improve my editing.
The 3RR on the 21st was never intended to be that but the edits from others flew in so quickly that I was taken by surprise, I have improved my editing dramatically since then, as I hope you will agree, and that is down to your advice.
I do not know where to register a complaint and I have no need to know at present, I felt that a reminder to you to just consider your motivations, on this one subject, perhaps just count to ten before hitting send, would be constructive, if you think not then so be it. Thanks, but I think you are misreading me. The UAF is an irritating organisation in some ways and I certainly don't think it is perfect for some of the reasons mentioned in the article. My point about desecration, and I think the other editors are trying to make the same point, is that you are interpreting a source - have you read WP:NOR?
