Excessive detail[edit]

I had to remove almost all the material relating to the Alton Sterling incident from the Baton Rouge article since it was getting too long for the article. As you are no doubt aware, there is a tendency for people to relitigate these sorts of incidents, including attempts to paint the black victims as criminals in order to make the police overreaction seem justified in retrospect. This is usually the result of what has been termed "White fragility". Since there is already an article on this particular incident, the ironing out of the text and level of detail should be confined there. Abductive (reasoning) 01:23, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you recently removed content from Starship Troopers (film) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Starship Troopers (film). Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Tornado chaser (talk) 02:11, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Starship Troopers (film), you may be blocked from editing. --Orange Mike | Talk 03:03, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not comment further at my Talk page[edit]

I have no interest in your further commentary at my talk page. If you wish to discuss article content, you can ping me at the appropriate article's Talk page, or you can talk with me on your own page. If you continue to leave messages on my page I will consider it harrassment and contact an admin to force you to desist. Thank you for respecting my wishes.
