The article creator is not supposed to remove deletion tags. I'll keep an eye out and revert unexplained removals of deletion tags. What you did was fine, but what wasn't really good was the part where it directed you to another website to read. In general, you don't put that in the text of the article; it goes in the external links as long as it's OK. You can put the link in the External Links section if you'd like, but I don't think that the little pointer to a full biography belongs in the article.
