Sockpuppet[edit]

I'm going to repeat what I said here: Whether you are Martin himself or an ardent fan of Martin, you need to understand the following: Wikipedia is one of the top ten websites in the entire world. Your actions here are being seen by people around the world. This persistent attempt lasting two years to get an article about Martin is actually harming the reputation of Martin, not helping it. If anyone did have an interest about Martin, what they would find here is a long list of attempts and sockpuppets to try to improve the fame of this person. This is bad, do you understand? Imagine, if you will, the Cape Town Awards people looking at Wikipedia and finding that you've been going around blatantly violating the policies of Wikipedia and trying so hard to promote this person (or, if its you, promoting yourself). Do you think they would look favorable upon that or do you think it would hurt you? If you seriously think it's the former, you need to re-think your approach to the world. Martin needs to become notable and then a Wikipedia article happens, not the other way around. If you are Martin or you care about Martin the best thing you can do is STOP THIS SILLY CHARADE.

I have deleted B major SA (musical artist) and salted it against recreation. This now marks the 13th iteration of your attempts that have been deleted and salted. No matter how many permutations of the name you come up with, they will all be deleted and salted. You've been at this for two years. Do you think another two years will somehow magically result in success for you? Really? Come on. End This Now. --Hammersoft (talk) 02:36, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Hammersoft hello Hammersoft, I'm trying to figure out how I'm linked to the claims you're making? I'm from Durban, KwaZulu natal. and I have no relation to the subject at matter, I will admit that I'm a die hard fan of his music but i simply follow the artist on social media like Facebook and Instagram. I saw the guy is verified on social media so I thought his a celebrity. I came to wikipedia and searched his name but it took me to a B major musical scale. so I took up on myself to use the links he always posts on social media to create him a page . can you make me understand how someone can be notable on social media with that verification badge and have some articles but isn't notable on wikipedia? what was wrong with my version of this article? can you please link me to the previous articles or the discussion of why the previous articles got deleted? I try to keep my work up to wikipedia standards and quality. Sweettooth031 (talk) 06:01, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Having a verified account on social media doesn't make someone famous. You've been told about reliable, secondary sources multiple times and know full well now that sources like allmusic.com are useless for establishing notability. Being nominated for a localized award doesn't establish notability, and linking that to Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical is misleading at best. Please carefully read what I wrote above and keep reading it until you understand you are directly harming the reputation of B Major and actively contributing towards him not being famous. --Hammersoft (talk) 12:57, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

@Hammersoft i admit to being the first and most of the previous sockpuppet accounts but please guide me on how to fix this once and for all. so that I can save what's left of Martin's reputation on wikipedia so that one day when he is notable online he can get an awesome article he deserves. I'll admit I was a bit over obsessed as a fan and to be honest I have met the guy on several occasions while traveling for work and he always used to be the kindest young man who always gives back to people and drives a Mercedes Benz at his age.. that's why it became so important to me.. at first I didn't know how to create articles so I made the mistake by giving my username on wikipedia as Bmusique99 which was his social media handles at the time.. (thinking it should be similar to his usernames on social media) If it is possible to unsalt his name please help me go about it because his a good fella, and should not have this done to his name due to my obsession with his drive and passion, he really is featured in lot of local news papers doing good for the communities and I know that one day he will probably have a wikipedia article.
I will no longer try to create this article, I'm completely done with it I give my word to the wiki community. I have created all of this when I lived in the same city as him (Cape Town) about 3 years ago, I moved to Durban , KwaZulu Natal.. and I'm currently between Pietermaritzburg and Durban freelancing for local newspapers and online news publishers. I'm really good with handling their social media accounts, doing marketing and SEO for their websites.(if Applicable)
I can assure you that I am some of those sockpuppet accounts not all, the others who tried defending the topic at hand were definitely people from South Africa who knew the name. it had me surprised when I had backup defending the article I created.
I'm learning a lot more about "Notability" and when people are deemed as notable.
To all the wikipedians who I dragged into this mess I truly apologize for all my disruptive editing, I was only trying to create articles. and keep in mind nothing I ever published was incorrect just badly sourced as most information I got comes from a local newspaper source known as The Peoples post and the Daily Voice, but can't find these articles indexed on google only hard copy... it is really hard finding the hard copy newspapers as a link so even though his notable in real life and always in newspapers . i finally see that he doesn't have enough online presence such as news link, but when it comes to hard copy papers I still have all the prints in it's original condition. let me know if that can be of any help towards the wiki article?
I'm hoping everyone can see this message and know I'm truly sorry for disrupting the Encyclopedia over the years but know that it was my goal to create this guy a wikipedia page as I made a promise to always help impactful talents like B Major & DJ Ready D where its needed. I admit I have overdone it a lot but I'm just that type of guy, hard to quite and always trying my best even if the odds are against me.
I truly apologize, there will be no more of this disruptive editing towards the topic mentioned.
please guide me on a way forward to fix all this mess.

I appreciate you finally be honest about your actions and your intentions. Unfortunately, your actions have dramatically undermined any faith the community might have had in your efforts on the project. There is no way forward for you at this time. In six months time you might be able to successfully appeal your ban from the project per Wikipedia:Standard offer. However, given your 2+ year long effort involving the creation of more than 20 different iterations of this article in mainspace, draft space, and userspace, and all the effort that had to go into preventing your damage to the project (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bmusique99/Archive just for starters), you're going to have to do a great deal of convincing to get people to clear you. You've wasted a lot of time of the good people on this project. Wikipedia:Assume good faith is an important principle on this project. I would even go so far as to say it's crucial. But, it does not mean that we have to go down with a sinking ship and keep offering good faith to you when it is so obviously apparent that you have broken faith with us. Since you have not just been blocked, but banned from the community per WP:THREESTRIKES, any request to become unbanned is going to have to go before the community, not just the administrator who blocked your original account at User:Bmusique99 (see block log on the original account). Note that you should make such an unban request on the talk page of your original account, not one of your many sockpuppets. If you no longer have access to that account, I recommend using the talk page of this account and this account ONLY. If you create another sockpuppet account to appeal your ban it will likely not be viewed in a favorable way. You can place an {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} request on this talk page. You should note that this would be an unban appeal, and as such needs to be discussed by the community. If you make such a request, I strongly urge you to emphatically state that you will accept a topic ban from B Major or anything having to do with B Major, broadly construed. I.e., not his work, not his family, not his company, ...everything.
The articles, under their various names, will not be un-salted at this time, at least not by me. I would strongly recommend no administrator do so, since the privilege of making such articles was so badly abused. If...IF...Bjorn Martin truly becomes notable (and that is not often defined as winning local awards, and finding mention in local newspapers), then someone in the future might consider making a request by following the instructions at WP:RFUP. But, the draft version of the article had better be very good, with strong sourcing in truly reliable, secondary sources, and not basing itself mostly on mentions on Apple Music, allmusic.com, and primary sources such as social media. Alternatively, such a person could follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested articles, but that most likely won't yield results without the effort of a well sourced draft being put together. Between his various social media outlets, Bjorn has less than a thousand followers. I have friends who have more followers than that and the most famous thing they've ever done is get a coffee from a coffee shop. Notability has to come first, not a Wikipedia article and THEN notability. It doesn't work like that. --Hammersoft (talk) 23:38, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hammersoft i totally get what you're saying and i appreciate you still showing me good faith and knowing that I didnt do it to intentionally to harm the guys image or reputation. I will get to the unban appeal In the morning and hopefully just wish for the best, also you mentioned he have less than 1000 followers which is not true only on his Instagram, but he has about 4.5K followers on Facebook and I guess he got verified as @BMajor99 because he was being impersonated after he appeared in news articles. the Facebook page links back to his Instagram but seems he seems more visible and known on Facebook, he has very low followers on Instagram about 700 to be exact. I have faith that this young man will be a well known person worldwide someday, just based off his consistency and persistence.. thank you I truly appreciate you @Hammersoft, the name goes by the work you do and the way you handle it. Sweettooth031 (talk) 00:16, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please re-read my most recent post above. Making an unban request now will NOT succeed. Please follow WP:STANDARDOFFER. You have six months of waiting in front of you, at a minimum. --Hammersoft (talk) 00:26, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hammersoft yes I know what you said, I'm saying I will write my unban request starting In the morning.. it will take sometime to write but I'll save it and post in my talk page in 6 months. I think I do have access to the first account I used to create the first article.. I will post the unban request there.

how did this guy get verified without being notable , I'm scratching my head trying to understand how Facebook can say the subject must be notable and highly known and searched for to be verified but Martin isn't notable yet his account is verified. this is confusing me, and it's the reason why I kept at it because I saw that articles like Oskido or DJ Oskido have very weak citations and isn't written in wikipedia style of articles but I saw the guy is verified on social media platforms. I've seen many articles like this and that is what motivated me to keep trying..
So to my understanding is that verified news sources writes articles based of Press Releases posted by Verified pages which later gets used on wikipedia articles. but wikipedia doesn't accept the primary source (social media accounts) as Notable. is there articles I can read up about which can explain this better to me? I'm definitely missing something. Also would you consider DJ Ready D as a notable DJ/Radio Presenter? in your personal opinion?

Wikipedia has standards for notability for musicians as expressed at WP:MUSICBIO. Wikipedia does not care nor give credence to the notability standards of any other platform. Such standards have no effect here. Whether other articles exist that have weak sourcing or poor writing is irrelevant. It is not a basis to include more articles with weak sourcing and poor style. See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Press releases are usually written by the person themselves and count as primary sources. For example, see prnewswire.com and WP:PRNEWSWIRE. In general, a good starting place for all of this is WP:GNG. --Hammersoft (talk) 12:08, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
