Promotion is not allowed[edit]

I saw your question on the Teahouse. Editors will stop you if you advertise/promote your company and will undo or revert your efforts. The reference #1 on your User Page to your company is also 'Promotion'. If you do not remove it someone else will possibly do that. You already have more than 50 edits. It is not the number of Articles that makes up the number, but the number of separate edits. I think that you will need to tell your boss that you will not be allowed to put anything about the company onto wikipedia. BlueWren0123 (talk) 11:40, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey BlueWren0123, you seem pissed off about something. if you read my message then you should've kept going and read the entire thread as well. This is no promotion. I understood the response that I got from another editor. Your opinion is not welcome. Regarding the reference, it just backs up the designation of the person. I'll keep editing since I'm new I had a bit of trouble while going through the tutorial and had to do multiple edits which made the number go up. Alternatively, I have other other articles that I want to write that have enough notability and sources to back them up. I'll move to them once I get a hang of it. I think you need to watch your tone at least when addressing someone new to the community.

I want to encourage you in your future editing. I wish you continuing success.BlueWren0123 (talk) 12:25, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Claiming you are an employee at IIH Nordic is OK, and in fact, probably required if you are intending to create a draft about a person at the company (your "Boss"). The proper method is described at WP:PAID. What is not allowed is a hyperlink to the company's website, as that is considered promotional. David notMD (talk) 16:37, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey David,
Thanks for the response. I have actually decided not to pursue the biography based on the negative feedback that I recieved, while I do have want to edit another article I'm not sure if the references that i've collected are eligible. Here's the article that I want to edit, and I have these as references, I want to add in the Major trial results part the findings of the 4 day work week at IIH Nordic, since they also implemented the 4 day work week in 2017.
Here and here are the two links. Could someone help in clarifying if this is do able or any positive criticism that could help me learn more. Steen Rasmussen FYI (talk) 06:33, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the first link is't working see this one please @David notMD , also forgot to tag you above. Could you please help out a bit pointing in the right direction ? Steen Rasmussen FYI (talk) 06:42, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
First, you have the option of removing all those tutorial badges from your User page ("Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!" Blazing Saddles). If you want to add text and references about IIH Nordic to the Four-day workweek as an example, you do have what Wikipedia refers to as a conflict of interest (see WP:COI). This means that to be a stickler to the rules, the description of your connection to the company should remain on your User page, AND, rather than editing the article directly, the guidelines are that you should propose text with references on the article's Talk page, so that an unconnected editor can decide to incorporate the proposed content or not. To do this, use the {{edit COI}} template. Doing that 'flags' your edit request to attract attention to a bevy of volunteer editors who help with this task. May take weeks before acted on. A key to succeeding is to have the text seen as not promoting the company. David notMD (talk) 10:25, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Possible wording: IIH Nordic, a (description of what company does), implemented four-day workweeks in 2017. The change including requiring shorter within-company staff meetings, fewer emails among staff and other changes. Results included improved employee retention and reduced sick days. (refs). Article about your boss[edit]

Hi, I also saw your question at the Teahouse. What are the 3-5 best sources you can think of, that are at the same time reliably published (WP:RS), independent of the subject and about the subject in some detail? This excludes blogs, wikis, online bookstores, own websites/social media, press releases etc etc etc. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:50, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
