Northern Ireland War Memorial

There is a problem with the mention of Carolyn Mulholland you added to the lead. This article is about a building, not a sculpture. See the section Aims and it is clear(but also in lead).Aineireland (talk) 22:14, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

I added her to the article quickly as this was the article that her name previously redirected to. I have no strong feelings about how or if she is mentioned there, but one of the main sources for the article features her quite prominently. Smirkybec (talk) 22:24, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

Yes, I read that, but it appears to be the speech she gave at the opening of the building when probably her sculpture was also unveiled and the BBC concentrated on that. I'll take out the sentence because currently it claims she designed the building, and see if later a suitable reference to her can go in , but it is a very short article Aineireland (talk) 22:34, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

Check this out

Because of your interest in writing women into history on Wikipedia, you would enjoy this I am sure. Google marcellaosullivan.com and scroll down a bit to a wonderful video and song "Where have all the women gone?"

Also, thank you for the article on Katherine Everett. It made me (particularly on foot of Robert O Byrne's review ) get the book and read it. It was a real gem. Aineireland (talk) 22:58, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Oh that's lovely, thank you for the recommendation! Everett's book has been on my "to buy" list for so long, I must make time to get it and read it. The publishers who re-issued it, the Somerville Press, release very interesting books - well worth looking at the rest of their catalogue. O'Byrne is a wonderful story teller and speaker, I saw him talk about Sybil Connolly in the Hunt Museum a few years ago, and he is so engaging, so I'd but a lot of stock in his appraisal too! Excellent video

This is a new and excellent 13 min. video on Anna Parnell - Avoca the forgotten woman. I would love to have put it in External links for her Wikipedia article and the one on the Ladies' Land League. Unfortunately it is currently an unlisted youtube video, which apparently means that it is only available to those with a link to it. A browser won't get it. A woman who participated in it and has a link put it on her twitter page today and I found it retweeted.

Interesting! Strange that it is unlisted. The best thing might be to message/tweet at the woman featured and see if they would be happy for the link to be included on the article. Smirkybec (talk) 11:57, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
