Disambiguation link notification for July 4

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kathleen Bridle, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Scott. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi Smirkybec, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Sadads (talk) 04:23, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey @Sadads:, wow, thanks! I was not expecting that at all :) If I have any questions I will let you know! Thanks again, Smirkybec (talk) 02:10, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

WikiProject Women

Hi, I see you recently joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red. I've made a proposal to merge this project into Wikipedia:WikiProject Women at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women in Red, so we can not only cover missing articles but focus on general quality of women's biographies. If interested please put your name down on the WP:Women page at the bottom.♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:08, 29 July 2015 (UTC)

Katherine Butler and James Bayley Butler pages

Thanks for starting the pages for Katherine Butler and James Bayley Butler. My brother came across the pages recently as they were our great-aunt and great-grandfather. It's interesting to see some family members with Wikipedia entries!

Godinhok (talk) 15:11, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

@Godinhok: how interesting! I came across James from writing about Carmel Humphries, as all three are featured in the Royal Irish Academy's Dictionary of Irish Biography. Both fascinating people - I was delighted to add them :) Smirkybec (talk) 19:58, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

From Margeg15: I'm new to trying to edit Wikipedia so I don't know if this is the right way to "talk"!

I'm the granddaughter of James Bayley Butler and made the change to his first wife's date of death. I have my mother's diary, the entry for 21st of April 1942 which states "Mother died this morning". I probably have other family papers which would verify date of death. Dictionary of Irish Biography must have got it wrong.

Another mistake is the caption on photo of retirement - the woman on left is Beatrice Dixon, JBBs daughter (my mother), not Eileen Doherty. I had previously contacted UCD digital archive about this, but obviously they didn't correct it, so I've emailed them again. Not even sure how to sign this but I'm Margeg15 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Margeg15 (talkcontribs) 15:27, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

@Margeg15: I'm going to reply to you on your talk page now - sorry for the delay! Smirkybec (talk) 19:58, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

I didn't get a chance to respond until now. With regard to McWeeneys being a literary family, a number of members were involved in journalism, starting with Theophilus McWeeney, father-in-law of James Bayley Butler. He was the chief reporter of Freeman's Journal. [1] . I noticed that someone had taken down the photo of JBB - if you want another that has no copyright issues, I have a number of good ones. Is there some way I can communicate with you directly, rather than using "talk" here. I probably have a lot more information which might be of interest. My mother was Beatrice Dixon [2] Margeg15 (talk) 20:45, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
