Promotion, advertising and conflicts of interest[edit]

Please read wp:coi. Happy New Year! ChildofMidnight (talk) 21:38, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The key to article creation and content additions is the inclusion of citations to substantial independent coverage. So if there are articles or books discussing the article's subject, that would help. The article looks to me like a corporate bio. I'm also having trouble, frankly, finding the foundation for wp:notability. Again, if there is news coverage you could definitely add that, but so as not to mislead you, in my opinion from reading the article, I don't see anything that would warrant inclusion in this encyclopedia even if it was sourced. I'm afraid that article stands a good chance of being deleted. But as long as you're aware of that, I'm happy to answer any questions you have. I just don't want to waste your time by leading you to think that if you put enough time into a non-notable subject you can somehow make it notable. But again, the key to article creation and content additions is the inclusion of citations to substantial independent coverage. So if he's been covered substantially in the media or in books or some other reliable source, the article has a chance. ChildofMidnight (talk) 04:05, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I think we can remove significant parts of the text that read like a Bio. Perhaps leaving in Civic Positions, speeches given, etc... removing all corporate info.

As far as the Notability goes, just in clicking links of organizations related to my subject's I've found a number of people who's articles include significantly less 3rd party citation and references. Ex: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amr_Dabbagh Amr Dabbagh.

I suppose that after significant trimming Albert's article could be of similar structure to Amr's . Do you think that the Amr article meets your notability requirement?

Would removing all "corporate" info warrant removal of the advert tag? Please forgive all the questions, I'm just new. Simplynetworked (talk) 05:17, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article you've referenced was created in 2006. The rules have been tightened considerably since then. The key to what content should be included and to getting an article included at all is established by including references to independent coverage from reliable third party sources. Well, I'll do my best to trim out the fat and to put references to 3rd party links for as much info as possible. Thanks for your help Simplynetworked (talk) 15:54, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
