Australian hall of fame

I sense a potential hornet's nest, as "Football Hall of Fame" is used for both what I'd call football and for Aussie rules. The hall of fame website is at http://www.footballhalloffame.com.au/, but it appears that it used to be called the Australian Soccer Hall of Fame, a title which is now deprecated. So while Australian Football (Soccer) Hall of Fame is clearly nonstandard, the correct title is not immediately obvious – there are redirects at Australian Football (soccer) Hall of Fame, Australian Football Hall of Fame (soccer), Australian Soccer Hall of Fame, Football Federation Australia Football Hall of Fame and Football Federation Australia - Football Hall of Fame. Cheers mate. I've got more involved in that because at the moment with my uni work and part job I have very little free time to work on articles. At the moment I'm working on both the Albert Dock and Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City articles but only in dribs and drabs in my sandbox. Hello, the problem is that the cite web template doesn't convert the international format anymore but shows it as "Retrieved on 2008-11-26" instead of "Retrieved on 26 November 2008". The main deal I wanted to do was start a wiki page for Joe Gideon & The Shark, who supported Nick Cave at the gig J & I went to. They're former members of Bikini Atoll who probably won't pass notability yet. But you should check out there myspace, they're good. Soooooooo, I'm going to learn about BA and build a page for them. As a laugh. I've never even heard them, but I'm bound to have to become a fan or summat now.

Yo dude, how would I go about querying the Lofepramine#Dosage part of the article? It presents what it's saying as fact, but through personal experience, I know this is not the case. I was looking to add a citation request, but I don't know how to do that. I don't want to remove this part of the article as that would be foolish, but I'm unsure on how to edit it. Basically, where it says MUST just isn't true. I'm not sure about the PPV abbreviation. It is used in some other articles, but I've never been sure if it's an encyclopedic abbreviation or more of a message board/internet chat abbreviation. Re. Equatorial Guinea - Portuguese as official language

Hello Sillyfolkboy. Yes, it's quite weird. Basically, Obiang decided to make Portuguese official in Equatorial Guinea, regardless of the virtual absence of Portuguese speakers. So far we can only attest a "declaration of intent" of the government to make Portuguese official there. Apart from the CPLP website (who apparently claim what even the EG government does not), there are no sources reporting the language having already been made effectively official in EG; the official website of EG does not state Portuguese being official in EG! Same for the CIA World Factbook and BBC. However, there has been clearly a wave of enthusiasm in the Portuguese-speaking world, and the always faulty Portuguese Wikipedia was hasty to declare that Portuguese is now official in EG. Which is wrong, because most sources contradict that claim (I've checked lots of sources in English, Portuguese and Spanish). Almost every day I have to revert enthusiasts of the Lusophone expansion, who'll try to have the article forcibly display the much disputed and non-verified Portuguese as official in EG. I was (and still am) a little unsure of the correct status of Chambers performance. I knew he had been caught but cannot find a reference specifically stating that his record had been rescinded. I don't want to be picky, but the article you found doesn't actually say that his European record was anulled, it says, "In May that year, the International Association of Athletics Federations stripped Chambers of his European gold medal and annulled his British record."

Technically, the IAAF cannot anull his British record. The British record is ratified by what used to be called the BAAB, and is now called UK Athletics. That would be like the Olympic Organising Committee saying that his Commonwealth Record had been anulled, they have no jurisdiction over the British record. I think it fair to assume that the journalist (Arj Singh) has got his athletics organisations in a knot, or got his notes shuffled or something.

I'm not claiming that the record has not been anulled, by the way, it's just that the source you found does not confirm it. Which is a shame considering the trouble you went to to find it. Thank you, Cottonshirt (talk) 16:25, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

I think you should either tone down or withdraw the comment you made here. You should refrain from making personal attacks when discussing how to improve articles. Thanks for flagging up strange edits about Dylan's Turkish roots. Looking at edit history, I realised there was a good para on Dylan's ancestry that some anonymous editor deleted at 20.14, 14 Jan 2009, so I've re-instated it. I think it's better we give info on Dylan's "Turkish" ancestry accurately—sourcing it as a claim Dylan makes in Chronicles, Volume One. Otherwise some over-enthusiastic editor makes too big a deal of it and sources it to a blog with strange heading such as "Bob Dylan is Turkish!"—best wishes Mick gold (talk) 12:11, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Tyson Gay Biography

Thank you for working on the Tyson Gay article. I have been pretty busy as of late, and therefore have not had time to contribute to articles in athletics, but currently I find no real faults with your rewrite of the article. You emphasize things a little differently than I would have, in that you write a lot about his appearances in the championships. If his career continues for another 6 years, he may see two, three, or even four more championship-level appearances. Surely you wouldn't write 3-4 paragraphs on each one? Of course, I'm just being overly picky. Perhaps I just think it's ironic that newcomer sprinters like Tyson Gay, whose success has been rather brief, have significantly longer articles than sprinters with much greater fame and legacies, such as legends Frankie Fredericks, Quincy Watts, and Butch Reynolds.

As far as any "AFD rigging" goes I'm not aware of any unsavoury activity, I just thought it was a few over-zealous Manchester United fans getting a bit carried away. To be honest, I hope that the content can be used in another article in a more meaningful way.

I've had my eye on those articles too. Who would have thought that a Liverpool fan would have written about Ronaldo's "precocious talent" eh? Maybe that's a little bit of POV but I think editors are far too cautious about things like this on football articles, for example I'd need a dozen citations just to prove that "Xabi Alonso has a good vision for passing"; something that is blatantly obvious to any observer, regardless of affiliation. Perhaps I'm just cynical, being an admin that has previously done a lot of investigation of sock rings, but in this case the voterigging was fairly obvious - if you look at the edit-summaries for these three diffs - [4], [5] and [6] - they're pretty much identical, and belong to Jw2035 and two of the IP addresses that also voted Keep on the AfD. Well that does look pretty pointless, but hopefully we can put this all behind us. I'd rather try and discuss things rationally than end up with another Bruninho situation. The discussionless edit-merry-go-rounds are so frightfully dull. Frankly I can't believe any one is that determined to make little pointless edits over a slash and a space: if only their outlandish tenacity could be harnessed for the power of good!
