March 2024[edit]

Hello, I'm Aviram7. I noticed that in this edit to 100,000, you removed all the content from the page. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you wish to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ~~ αvírαm|(tαlk) 13:01, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Nothing. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Paradoctor (talk) 17:04, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Semen2! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of List of prime numbers several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:List of prime numbers, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. JBL (talk) 19:15, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at 10,000,000, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 16:30, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Most of your edits get reverted. You're new, I get it. But you need to engage with what other, more experienced, editors are telling you. Above all, provide edit summaries. Nobody owes you guessing what you may have intended. Just as important: If someone reverts an edit of yours, do not simply re-revert. That's edit warring. Address the issue raised in the revert's edit summary instead. If you don't understand it, ask! Paradoctor (talk) 17:43, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Semen2. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Semen2. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Semen2|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS💬 04:27, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Spy number moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Spy number. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Change of someone else's user page.[edit]

In most cases it is frowned upon to change someone else's user page without their consent. Please refrain from doing so. You may however add a section to their user talk page, if it is relevant. Dhrm77 (talk) 17:06, 12 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Citing OEIS[edit]

When citing OEIS, do not use the search result as the page title, instead please use <ref>{{cite OEIS|Axxxxxx|title}}</ref> where Axxxxxx is the sequence number and title is its title. If the title includes an '=' sign, precede it with "2=".

If you add multiple number with the same citation, use <ref name=XXX>{{cite OEIS|Axxxxxx|title}}</ref> for the first, and <ref name=XXX/> for any subsequent entry, where XXX could be anything, but should be the sequence number to be useful.

Also, the retrieve date is mostly irrelevant for OEIS, since it's unlikely to change. Thanks Dhrm77 (talk) 17:20, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

why are you using Axxxxxx as the sequence number Semen2 (talk) 15:47, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Axxxxxx "IS" the sequence number! I'm not sure to understand your question. I'm sure you already know that Axxxxxx only represent a sequence suce as A000040, for instance. But, did you mean to ask why I also use is as the reference name? Dhrm77 (talk) 16:56, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stay off people's user pages[edit]

You have been warned by Dhrm77 of this four days ago. Now you did it to me. You have got enough to do learning the ropes as it is. You are not qualified to interfere with other user's user pages. Ask first, on their user talk pages. And listen to what they say.

While we're at it: WP:EDITSUMMARY: According to the consensus policy, all edits should be explained [...] —either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page. This is important for you, because you're making a lot mistakes, and other editors need to know what you intended to do so they can react properly. Paradoctor (talk) 20:14, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Dhrm77 and Paradoctor.
This also means, Jimbo Wales' user page needs to be protected, because there are so many edits from other users! 2A00:6020:A123:8B00:992C:4DCB:8C46:A7E3 (talk) 20:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
1) Jimbo's user page is semi protected and move protected. For information on protection levels, see Wikipedia:Protection policy.
2) The current protection state is the result of a discussion in March 2021. If you want to know why there is no stronger protection, read the discussion, that should prove informative. Paradoctor (talk) 21:37, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The talk page is semi protected, as it shows a "view source" button, but the previous reply is about the user page, which shows an "edit" button, as its newest protection log entry only shows "Move=Require administrator access", which does not affect normal edits. 2A00:6020:A123:8B00:8D5:C34:869:BE16 (talk) 07:44, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the exchange at the end of the protection discussion. Or, just try to publish an edit while logged out. Semiprotection is the default for user pages, and does not need to be set explicitly. And yes, that could be handled better. If you have the energy, ask at WP:VP/T or something, maybe it gets done. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Symphony No. 104 (Haydn), without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Your move was improper because the request had been contested and thus requires discussion. cite OEIS[edit]

on 13 April 2024, in this edit : https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=6000_(number)&oldid=1218742069 you created a lot of cite problems. When citing OEIS, do not use the search result as the page title, instead please use [1] where Axxxxxx is the sequence number and title is its title. If the title includes an '=' sign, precede it with "2=".

If you add multiple number with the same citation, use [2] for the first, and [2] for any subsequent entry, where XXX could be anything, but should be the sequence number to be useful. That naming makes it easier to move similar references from one page to another. After you make a change, make sure you hit "show preview" and check that there is no cite errors.

Your articles[edit]

Hi Numspan33,

I've noticed that you have had many articles deleted for various reasons, usually due to not meeting Wikipedia:Notability. May I please suggest you take a break from creating articles for now? Persistent creation of deleted articles is something that people have been blocked from editing for before, so I think you should try to address this before it approaches that point.

Here's some helpful reading in the meantime.

Few things on Fandom are notable enough to be posted on Wikipedia. As a general rule of thumb, if anyone could've come up with the source content, that source isn't reliable enough to be used here. Jasper Deng (talk) 20:31, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Penta (river), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to Draft:Penta (river) where you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. You need to fix the many broken links, formatting issues, etc. with this article before it is published – as it stands it is barely readable. Wham2001 (talk) 20:59, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

this account is not a sockpuppet Numspan33 (talk) 14:11, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Funny thing is that every sockpuppet says they aren't one, since that is the whole point. If that were sufficient to be unblocked, the sockpuppetry policy would be meaningless. You'll have to do better than this and provide a plausible explanation as to why you might appear to be connected to these accounts if you actually aren't. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 14:14, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

why do i appear to be connected to these accounts Numspan33 (talk) 16:41, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Either you're connected to the other accounts(Editer344, Googologist999), or you aren't. You may make a new request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 18:17, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
