October 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Noel, Nova Scotia appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. OK, thanks. I'll figure this out eventually.
I am retired now, and thought I would update some things for fun, but I now see there is more to it than I thought.
Back to reading more closely. Robvann (talk) 21:10, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Here's what I have in mind for stand alone article. What do you think?
Dr. Annie Hennigar was a remarkable woman who became one of the first female graduates of Dalhousie's School of Medicine in 1906¹. She was also the first woman in the Maritimes to practice as a travelling country doctor, serving the rural community of Hants County for 44 years²³. She faced many challenges and dangers in her work, such as wildlife encounters, extreme weather, and lack of medical facilities, but she was always determined and courageous². She was also an accomplished artist who won an award for her painting "Courage", which depicted a scene from her life as a country doctor². She died in 1950 and is buried in Burntcoat Cemetery². She was a pioneer and an inspiration for many women who followed her footsteps in medicine.

I had difficulty finding reliable secondary sources to support notability. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:04, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So, as long as I include the three links to Dalhousie University and the Historical Society then it should be ok to create? Robvann (talk) 10:46, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
