October 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Redox have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 06:39, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, you didn'tbut the link which I am trying to add is relevant then the first one and while trying to change that I am getting an error....I don't know why?? Rafia Liaqat (talk) 06:42, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what error you are getting because you didn't say, but actually, it's moot because your link has already been removed for good cause. Even if you figure out what the error you encountered was, please do not attempt to put this link back. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 09:47, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I want to add this link (https://equationbalancer.com/redox-reaction-calculator) because it's relevant to the topic of the webpage. Rafia Liaqat (talk) 10:06, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
When I responded to your question at the Teahouse, I suggested that any external link you added should be relevant to the topic and in line with WP:EL. The website equationbalancer.com has no information in its "about" section to say who its authors are, which leads one to doubt their competence. In the page you wish to link, there is (within Step 6) the following:
2Cu + 4AgNO3 -> 2Cu(NO3)2 + 4Ag + 2H2O + 4H+
Anyone who thinks that this is a balanced equation needs to go back to class! This is absolutely not the sort of site to link from Wikipedia. Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:07, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
