following ...

... my post here, but a bit of a tangent. Do you know of a script that adds a link to a corresponding wikidata entry when viewing (or editing) the wikipedia article? — Ched (talk) 13:04, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

@Ched: I'm not sure that I follow your meaning. If an article has an associated Wikidata entry, the link to that will always appear, automatically, in the left-hand navigation (on desktop view). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:23, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
Well "duh" on me. In the "tools" box. Not sure how I missed that, other than me being blind and stupid. TY Andy, sorry to have bothered you. — Ched (talk) 13:31, 17 May 2021 (UTC)

Converting template:wikisource and inline to be WD-driven

Hi. Ages ago I converted template:Wikisource-author and inline to pull WD data unless the override was used. I looked at the other version and just backed away slowly as it needed the extra linking from work to version through direct interwiki, or work to edition through the has edition link and then to the interwiki. As that is now in place, do you reckon that we can update it to be automated. Then the can work can be done in removing the forced parameters whilst checking that the wikidata is right for versions or editions, and updating as required. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 04:29, 19 May 2021 (UTC) :Not to worry, seems that it happened at some point. Must not be watching the right part of the nested templates where the guts of the work is done. — billinghurst sDrewth 07:54, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

I will take that back, it doesn't work unless it is a direct wikilink on the item. A Modest Proposal is a demonstration of the weaving to the English language edition not working. — billinghurst sDrewth 08:32, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
@Billinghurst: I'm not clear what it is you are asking for; nor what you expect the 'A Modest Proposal' use-case to do that it is not already doing. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:38, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Coventrypedia session #6

I didn't get a ticket for the last session and find I can't get into the zoom. I emailed a request for the link, please. It would be good to attend the wrap-up. Andrew🐉(talk) 13:30, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Tricky composition of compositions

What would you do about an infobox for Kammermusik (Hindemith), a set of 8 individual compositions, each with different scoring, dedication, premiere date ...? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:58, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt: A main box for the set and a smaller box for each piece; I've done the former and one of the latter to start you off; tweak them as you see fit. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:15, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Fine, thank you. I did the individual ones in Song cycles (Killmayer). Will do when long enough, sadly not yet. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:20, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:46, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for improving that article and others in May! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:21, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
Once I'm here, two questions: something happened to the top display of coordinates, making them run into what comes next, and - seen in Missa Papae Marcelli - other templates run into the bottom.?? Another: If I don't want a map in an infobox, what do I do? Is it really different depending on which template? (I remember that I found a parameter in one of them, but forgot which one.) A small church in a small village: I don't think it needs a map once the village has it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:25, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
I'm not seeing any coordinates on Missa Papae Marcelli. Which infobox are you suing for the chucrch? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:44, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
I should have done that properly ;)
  1. (Any) coordinates appear for me - noticed today - no longer properly distinguished from other content. Example: Christuskirche, Walsdorf. I see the line as an overlay to the upper border of the infobox.
  2. For Missa Papae Marcelli, some templates (pointing at files) overlay the references, - I can't read both.
  3. For the above-mentioned church, I used infobox religious building, no map. Not in infobox church, example St. Martin, Idstein (but there I don't mind the map). I'd prefer that for the other church also, but without map. I forgot where I saw a specific parameter saying "no map". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:56, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
  1. The coordinates issue is discussed at Template talk:Coord#Display changed?.
  2. Fixed
  3. Christuskirche, Walsdorf already has coordinates and no map, using {{Infobox religious building}}.
-- Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:23, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for fixing. Ad 3: infobox church would make more sense - two churches in one town might better look similar. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:28, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

See my talk today, - it's rare that a person is pictured when a dream comes true, and that the picture is shown on the Main page on a meaningful day. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:36, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
