Help with reference on Teri Perl

Hi Sue. I recently wrote a Wikipedia page for Teri Perl, who is a retired math educator and author. Her book Math Equals: Biographies of Women Mathematicians + Related Activities. San Francisco, CA: Addison-Wesley (1978) was cited by the American Library Association's Choice magazine for outstanding contributions to mathematics. I would like to find the issue of Choice that this appeared it. I can't access our stacks now and we only have digital access to TOC. I looked through many months but couldn't find anything. Is there a better was to find this??? THANKS! Mvitulli (talk) 22:03, 5 March 2021 (UTC)

Mvitulli, I'm not finding it, either. I was hoping the EBSCOhost, which has full text of Library Journal might also have Choice. I wonder if writing to ALA might help. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 22:10, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
Megalibrarygirl The magazine Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Librarites is indexed in Gale General OneFile starting in 1992. Didn't have much luck when I searched for it there. I would probably need to go to the library and look at issues starting in 1978. I think this is hopeless. Mvitulli (talk) 00:25, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
Mvitulli, it is frustrating! I'm not having luck with Gale, either. I only have access to some of the Gale databases. :( I wish I still had access to the University and Community College databases, but with COVID, I can't just walk into the libraries and access. >.<
Megalibrarygirl (talk) 04:34, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
Megalibrarygirl, there must be a better way to search the Gale database. I need to check some other things. When they give title and author is that the title of the book being reviewed and the author of the book? YES! I just checked this. I also want to see what the time lag is from the time the book was published and the date of the review. I don't see a time lag of more than 3 years. There are more than 30 pages of review citations that come up for a single issue. You go bleary eyed trying to look at them. The Gale General OneFile database is available via the Wikipedia library. Mvitulli (talk) 23:39, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
Mvitulli, yeah, I keep having issues with the Wikipedia library portal. The one through my public library isn't bringing it up either. :( Megalibrarygirl (talk) 22:52, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
Megalibrarygirl I think Choice Reviews choicereviews.org has a better search engine that the Gale database. My collaborator and her librarian found mention of the review we were after in a review for another book. We requested a copy of the review and should have it any day.  :-) Mvitulli (talk) 23:38, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
Mvitulli, Awesome! I'm glad they were able to help you. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 02:02, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Any updates to this request? I've got a biography sitting in the oven and don't know where else to turn for those sources.😳🤞🏻 Atsme 💬 📧 11:43, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Atsme, No, they never did get back to me. Let me try again now that I'm back at work and have some more credentials again. :P Megalibrarygirl (talk) 21:02, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
