It's borderline but most of the significamt coverage listed is interviews, which isn't fully independent. Are there anymore non-English sources? I can resubmit it for a second opinion if you want. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 08:18, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited the article and included substantial references from independent sources to verify the information published in the article.
I understand that some of the references are sourced from interviews, but all of them are from reputable and independent mainstream online media in Sri Lanka, where the actor is originally from.
With the newly added references and edits I made in the draft article, I believe it now has sufficient sources to ensure the credibility of the article. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review the draft and help me successfully resubmit it for approval.
Thanks for your research but it doesn't look like you added much more significant coverage. Mostly imdb links. If that's all there is, that's all there is, but unfortunately I don't believe the article will survive in its current state. You can resubmit it if you'd like but I'm going to let someone else review it to see what they think. I can't read the language of a few of those sources. Yes, the four (4) interviews I used were published in mainstream media, and I believe that has more weight than a self published blog, and are within the limits of Wiki reference guidelines. Also, some of the articles published in the past were archived, and couldn't retrieve those.As this actor is only starting to getting recognition, you don't find many articles about him yet.
For example, I have found articles of Sri Lankan actress Udari Warnakulasooriya who's in about similar caliber of Buddhika Jayaratne, also has limited references. Thus, I would like to humbly request to allow me to publish this at this stage and develop it in the future as the profile of the actor grows.

While I appreciate the input, I find it challenging to agree with the assertion that sources other than IMDb are insufficient to establish notability in terms of significant coverage. The subject is a well-known actor in Sri Lanka and has also appeared in international feature films, making them undeniably ‘worthy of notice.’
Referring to the Wikipedia article on Notability, ‘significant coverage’ is described as content that directly and thoroughly addresses the topic, eliminating the need for original research. The Wijaya Newspapers, Sunday Times, and TV Times articles I have cited are from mainstream newspaper publications in Sri Lanka. The mention of the subject in these cannot be considered trivial. Additionally, I’ve included links to notable websites and Wiki pages for cross-referencing.
I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to further improve my article.
