May 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kadermonkey. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Kamina Johnson-Smith seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kadermonkey the monkey (talk) 20:46, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Kadermonkey, I noted your point. However, I think the removal was a mistake. The information added was in fact neutral as it was drawn from official government sources and the minister's webpage. We would appreciate if the information could be re-uploaded. Kamina Johnson Smith[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Every text added to an article needs to be fully referenced by independent sources. Please see WP:NPOV, WP:V, WP:REF. This is a biography of a living person, so it's even more important that all is verified. Citations from her own webiste does not count as neutral or a reliable source. WP is an encyclopedia. Best wishes. Anna (talk) 10:38, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for continued edits. I have cleaned the article up a bit, adding links and tags, to make it sound less like a PR puff piece. It still needs further reliable refs, esp as the biography of a living person, which is taken seriously. There are some WP standard editing protocols, such as only using the subject's surname (not including honorifics in the body of the article). Please try and link acronyms, such as WTO, so readers have a clue which organisation is signified. Please don't use jargon or CV style. This is an encyclopedia and we try and stick with this formal, neutral tone. Some element of criticism or controversy (referenced) would help the article to feel less like a hagiography. I presume in her career there have been low points. We are not here to celebrate her - just to describe what has happened. NB: If others introduce these elements, with strong, citations, then they will be kept. For the record, nobody close to an article's subject is allowed to edit the piece. Please check WP:COI. The article is getting stronger. Please do add further refs for the outstanding tags. If you are unclear on the reasons for my editing changes, or if I have made errors, let me know. Best wishes. Thanks for continuing to add citations. This is one massive paragraph. Probably best to split it up. Best wishes. Anna (talk) 22:20, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
