- Please be more specific and elaborate on the remove and added parts. To my knowledge none was removed. As well as on which material do you consider being copyrighted (any extended citations are from the original source created over 80 years ago). Krispe13 (talk) 01:09, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
- I consider material cut-and pasted from modern day websites, such as https://besacenter.org/kalmykia-ethnic-separatism-in-the-lower-volga-region/, to be a blatant copyright violation. - If you are referring to the sentences with the facts containing the date and the name of republic created, then there is not logical way of rephrasing them and as stated in the "Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources" the facts cannot be copy-righted. With exception of the topics with very limited number of trusted sources, the rest was my original text. No parts that were added by other users were removed, contrary to your statement. - Facts cannot be copyrighted- but prose can be, and is. You will have read that on Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources. A full phrase such as "According to the 2010 census, of the 183,000 ethnic Kalmyks, only 80,500 speak their own language" (from this site) could have been reworded many other ways- there was no excuse for you to copy-paste it, amongst other sentences, directly into our article. If that still doesn't make sense, I would strongly advise asking for somebody to explain it to you on the teahouse or at the help desk. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 03:50, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
- I can admit that I got sloppier at the end and that can do a better job, so thank you for holding me up to the standards. Considering that the parts you have pointed out are located in the second half of the article - "Secessionist movements", do you have any reservations if I recreate the upper parts before the "Secessionist movements" from the backup of my version, or do you have some additional comments with regards to it at this point? - As long as you don't copy-paste, or closely paraphrase anything, I have no issues if you start adding information back in. However, everything needs to be referenced. Even if it refers to something we have an article on, it needs to be referenced. (Because what happens if you mention a fact users later decide to remove from the other article?) - Regarding the comment about "no sources found" as an argument for reversion, I am a bit confused, considering the list of sources that I have added to my change (see them listed below). Moreover you can find multiple "see also"/"see further" templates being used, such as:
- - Congress of the Enslaved Peoples of Russia
