Hi Kittycolada911!

Please don't be discouraged from initially being knocked back on the music articles you are trying to create. I too had to start somewhere as a newb 2 years ago, and had to learn (the hard way!) what makes good Wikipedia content. People aren't trying to say that what you're saying is bad, it's just a question of notability (see WP:N). The key thing about notability is that it's a subject that mainstream sources have written about (meaning recognized printed or online magazines that have editorial control, rather than blog-type sites where postings don't have to pass any edit control). I'd suggest a really good way of learning how to do good articles is to join a music Wikiproject, where you'll meet like-minded fellow editors, and start by looking through existing articles that need strengthening by adding well-sourced copy, images, infoboxes, lead-ins, wikilinks etc. Editing existing articles well help you to become familiar with various WP policies and techniques as you go. Maybe you'd like to have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Directory/Culture/Music#Popular_music and choose one (or more) of the projects highlighted in green to join, there'll be summary boxes of different articles needing attention, open projects etc. I really enjoy the projects I'm in and I hope you will too. Well done for having a go!!! —Baldy Bill (talk) 21:42, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mighty High Coup (Hip Hop group)[edit]

Hello Kittycolada911,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mighty High Coup (Hip Hop group) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kavdiamanju (talk) 15:02, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

January 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to MNYNMS. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Hello, Kittycolada911. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Kazha Hornsby, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Kazha Hornsby to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks,

Your signature[edit]

Hi! Per WP:SIGLINK, your signature must contain "at least one direct internal link to your user page, user talk page, or contributions page" - please fix this at your earliest convenience. Thanks! ansh666 07:14, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed! I dont know how that happened :/ CatSleepingOnTheKeyboard (talk) 15:55, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Draftspace[edit]

Please don't hold draftspace pages to articlespace standards, or tag them for articlespace maintenance queues. Unless they have some uniquely egregious problem (e.g. libelling or slandering a subject in violation of WP:BLP), draftspace pages are normally given a minimum of six months for the creator to at least try to get the article up to mainspace standards in response to reviewer feedback — and content and sourcing problems should be dealt with through AFC's reviewer comment and rejection processes, not by tagging them with the same maintenance templates you would add to a mainspace page.

A page is not deleted from draftspace just because it would have been a deletable article in mainspace — the whole point of draftspace is that the submitter is given time and feedback to at least try to improve the article enough to get it promoted, and AFC already has its own processes in place to flag and address the problems separately from the articlespace maintenance queues. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 15:03, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm still learning how to review. CatSleepingOnTheKeyboard 15:16, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Do you have the AFCH module installed? If you have it and just don't really know how to use it yet, there are help pages available and I'm sure individual AFC participants would be happy to answer your questions about it. And if you don't, then commenting on drafts through that module is how you should actually address maintenance issues in draftspace. Hope that helps a bit. Bearcat (talk) 15:34, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It does help actually. I dont have that module installed but im going to look into it. :-* thanks for your help. CatSleepingOnTheKeyboard (talk) 15:57, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Katfyr[edit]

Good morning Kittycolada. I recently added an article for Katfyr (DJ/Producer) however it has now been nominated for deletion because initially I had not included enough information to show the artist was notable, despite having reached position 1 in 2014 in the Beatport Dubstep charts among other accomplishments. Could you please take a look and advise me on what else I could add? Although I have been a Wikipedia member for over 10 years, I usually don't make any entries, but when I do I like to ensure they are made correctly and don't get deleted. Thank you!
