Richard Morthland has been deleted, as it contained no assertion of notability in a biography of a living person. Candidates, unlike incumbents, are not considered inherently notable; and the article contained no evidence of notability other than his status as nominee. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:17, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Until and unless he is elected to higher office, he is no more notable than his colleagues on the county board; i.e., not. --Orange Mike | Talk 23:07, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

July 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Richard Morthland has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2010/05/morthland-launches-petition-drive-to-oppose-rock-island-county-pay-hikes.html. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a petition site then please note that wikipedia is not a soapbox, and that such links generally should not be included.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 20:27, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Richard Morthland requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:21, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jonthn. Thanks for stopping by my talk page. I've made some quick reference fixes to the draft. One suggestion is to add some internal links to other articles, which will show up in blue. Airplaneman 04:40, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
