John.. regarding the pillow edit. Obviously you take a proactive role towards editing, which is good. But why don't you check WHAT I edited before you message me telling me that I vadalised. I removed an excerpt that was entirely vandalism. So unless you really think that people need to know that "pillows come from pillowseed found in the magical pillow gardens of someperson's mom" I hardly think what I did was vandalism.

But be happy, I signed up just for you.

John,

Thank you for your comment of 04:00, 3 May 2006 (UTC) regarding the new Toughened glass page, however please be aware that this is new content. It is an expanded version of the existing text and does contain new information.

I did not notice your redirect and assumed that my article hadn't been submitted correctly - hence my resubmission.

The Architectural Glass is about glass in buildings. The Toughened Glass page clearly will have some overlapping content.

I will rv this page tomorrow to the text which I placed there.

Feel free to discuss on the Talk:Toughened glass page.

Also, when you comment on a Talk:User page can you please indicate which edit you are referring to.

Regards,

I reverted a reverted redirect.--John Lake

(1. How do I send messages to other people... Is this how? ) (2. This is a response to the message that John sent to me. His message was noting that he reverted an edit that I did because, while he agreed with it, he didn't think the information was encyclopedic. The edit I did was a change to a page on PAL Spyware Removal (Malware stub) I added the official website of PAL Spyware Removal. ) Oh, alright. I guess that makes sense. I also added links similar to that to a few other pages. You can remove them if you want, but I think that it's fine to have them there, in fact I think it's very useful information to some people(It's what I've been researching right now). I needed the offical websites of spyware companies for a lab in my A+ class at school. Our current topic is spyware, and our lab is to infect a computer with as much as possible, and then try to remove it all. elnerdo 21:31, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Dear John Lakonias,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.1 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that not enough edits. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. I did what now?[edit]

The top of the page Jake Roberts currently says:

For the American football player, see Jake Plummer.

Which makes little sense. So I added "Jake the Snake redirects here" to the beginning to make it clearer as to why such a notice would exist. Why, exactly, is that vandalism? Bdve 18:21, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Struck it out on your page, mistake sorry.--John Lake 18:48, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kumar page[edit]

Hi John. I removed your db-bio tag from Kumar (drag queen) because I thought it clearly claimed notability as "Singapore's leading drag superstar", so speedy deletion under criteria 7 here did not seem appropriate. Kumar might not be notable enough to warrant an article, but I'd suggest full discussion at AfD if you think it ought to be deleted. Cheers and happy editing!--Kchase02 T 03:26, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think he's notable, but I did a procedural listing at AfD, here. Feel free to update the nomination, of course.--Kchase02 T 04:06, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's good you found those links. I tried but didn't. I admit leaning to the deletionist side but if an article is keepable so much the better. Thanks.--John Lake 05:09, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Perhaps you searched for "Kumar 1" the article's original (and nonsensical) title. In any case, all's well that ends well. btw, you're not just tired, as I'm fairly certain I also tagged Jeremy Rodriguez, but I couldn't find it in the deletion log, so perhaps it was all an edit conflict. It should be gone within the hour.--Kchase02 T 06:43, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi John Regarding the prod template you added on the article 'boy who never slept': I am slightly confused as to why this article should be deleted? Especially the allegation that it is porn: from the ~25 minutes that I have seen so far, this movie doesn't seem like porn. Furthermore, it's only got a budget of $200: I doubt that it would appear on IMDB. --Nish81 22:38, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, may I ask why do a hangon on this article? It is a copy vio which I instantly recognized knowing a bit about him though it be from another. Just asking. Can we cleanup and keep copyvio's?--John Lake 18:56, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My reply:

When I encounter a copyvio but the subject seems to be notable, I try to rewrite the article so that it is no longer a copyvio. In this case, I have commented out the copyvio text, and will remove it entirely once the article is finished. Cleaning up copyvios so that they are no longer copyvios is a very good thing to do if the resulting article is appropriate for Wikipedia. If the subject is clearly not notable, of course, then you can speedily delete the copyvio. TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 19:01, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More from me:

I'm pretty sure that it is possible to delete the history which would show the copyvio text without deleting the article, but I'm not an admin. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 19:38, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think the admins have to delete the whole thing then maybe they can undelete some parts of it but I don't know and I don't know any of them to ask.--John Lake 19:45, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. You tagged the above article for speedy deletion as an article about a person, group of people, band, club, etc. that does not assert the importance or significance of the subject.
I've explained the importance of the society in the discussion page and will add a section on its local and national significance within Irish theatre tomorrow. (Its getting late over here and I need my beauty sleep). Thanks.
Actually I've created a redirect called dramsoc without realising there's another dramsoc at Dublin University College. Can you please remove this?

I can't remove [1] it has nothing to revert back to. I am not an admin and it would have to be deleted I think.--John Lake 01:06, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

re:Devyn Devine[edit]

Might I ask why you removed the Afd tag from this article? [2] The debate is not closed.--John Lake 00:40, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I missed it because of the other subst'ed template. Thanks for pointing out the error. I have corrected it. Alphachimp talk 00:43, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Looks like I found a winner: maybe next time, I'll try the AfD myself :-) Sandy 01:13, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
