There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

I know it says I was blocked for "obvious reasons" by Orange Mike but the reason is not obvious to me. I'm new to using Wikipedia so I'm unfamiliar with what proper procedure is but I created this account to delete a section under "writing style" that was written about me that was obviously done maliciously. The person that wrote it did so to as a prank but the things that were said are untrue and damaging to me. What is the proper way to remove vandalism on the page? Can The person who vandalized my page be banned? James Otto management (talk) 05:00, 21 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Please follow the instructions in the block message above to request a new username and I'll be happy to unblock and rename your account for you (The "management" part of it makes it sound like a company or marketing account - perhaps just omit that word? You might need to be able to prove who you are, but we can deal with that when it comes to it). As for banning the user who made that addition to the article, it was done from a IP address and not a registered user account, and we wouldn't block an IP for one piece of vandalism - but if they repeat it we could then block the IP or protect the article. I've removed the additions from the history of the article now, so nobody can see them, and I've added the article to my watchlist so I'll see any further vandalism and will be able to deal with it. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
