Lavan Davis

Please remove the poorly sourced info in this article, specifically ". It is frequently mistaken that LaVan Davis is married to actress Cassi Davis in real life, but it is false.[2] They portray a married couple on Tyler Perry's House of Payne as Curtis Payne and Ella Payne, and a couple in the play Madea Goes to Jail as boyfriend and girlfriend. They can both also be seen on the movie Daddy's Little Girls. Tyler Perry claims they work very well together.[2]" which is an almost word for word copy of the Imdb "source" which this editor most likely added to Imdb. Asher196 (talk) 00:12, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Please see the talk page at Lavan Davis regarding this. This editor has been adding this to the article for months, and the "source" just appeared recently. Asher196 (talk) 00:13, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. Asher196 (talk) 00:18, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Title change discussion for November 11, 2008 incident off Somalia

During the deletion discussion for November 11, 2008 incident off Somalia, you suggested that the name of the article should be changed. I have now started a title change discussion (which can be found here: [1]) for the article, and I was wondering if you could contribute to it. Thank you very much in advance if you do so. Thanks for reading. BlueVine (talk) 16:13, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Regarding a page you deleted

I recently came across the page Jean-Paul Ney, a page which you deleted citing an AFD discussion which is itself a red link. Thus, I was wondering, did you misspel the link to the AfD page? If so, then what is the actual link? Thanks. It Is Me Here t / c 22:33, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

I've fixed the link, it was missing the Y at the end. Sorry about the typo mistake. JForget 02:50, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
Great, thanks. It Is Me Here t / c 07:29, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

List of Forgotten Realms characters

Hello.

I'm trying to build List of Forgotten Realms characters as a proper character list. Could you please restore the edit history of Araevin Teshurr for me, and redirect it to the list so that we can merge the content in? Thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 04:53, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, once again. :) BOZ (talk) 16:02, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

list of German Americans

You may have noticed that the current vandalism against this article is yet another effort by several IP addresses to remove all Jews from this list. This racist started the talk page and is now into action on the article. This has occurred before. Hmains (talk) 00:21, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I've protected the article for 1 week because of IP-hopping edit-warring/blanking. Not sure if he will stop, but that's the first time the page was semi-protected. --JForget 00:25, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Good idea. I think before (6 months ago or so), it was just discussed as a whine on the talk page about German Jews not really being German and 'pure' Germans only should be on this list. Probably a different editor. Nazis live on Hmains (talk) 00:29, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Please be a little more careful ..

This edit [2] accidentally restored some vandalism I'd just removed. Philip Trueman (talk) 18:17, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Rythme-FM-MTL.gif)

You've uploaded File:Rythme-FM-MTL.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Typo in your profile?

Sorry to be trivial, but shouldn't your Profile say "2006" in:

--Johnuniq (talk) 01:22, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! That's always problem with me, always mixing the numbers like putting the current year rather then the actual. Same problem sometimes with months. --JForget 02:50, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Reoval of content

Can you explain this edit please? DFS454 (talk) 17:08, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Someone made a second history paragraph (in fact he duplicated most of the existing paragraph so the edit was not very helpful, but it has being reverted by to the correct one. --JForget 17:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok No worries DFS454 (talk) 17:14, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

From the IPs comments, I can infer that they are evading a block, as well as making death threats (see their contribs). Not to question your action, but I feel a longer block is in order. Inferno, Lord of Penguins 23:47, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

The block was extended as well as an extra note regarding WP:NPA. Not sure if you have posted the issue in the Incidents noticeboard page (WP:ANI). --JForget 00:05, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Disney article vandal

Hey, thanks for your help. I've reported the IP to WP:AIV. Hopefully this will get cleared up soon. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 23:54, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome. They've already blocked him.--JForget 23:57, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Promotion

I noticed some edits on a page where you had reverted a vandal. These recent changes look like crossing to the wrong side of company promotion to me. I'd appreciate advice on how to proceed, or you might like to handle it. --Johnuniq (talk) 07:29, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

I've removed the plans section added. Not only it was clearly some promotion material, it looked like it was copied and pasted. --JForget 15:38, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Barnstar

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
I've been trying to keep up with you on reverting vandalism all night, but you're just too fast for me! Thanks for your tireless (literally!) help in keeping Wikipedia a clean and orderly place! Ericdn (talk) 17:30, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Sure you're welcome and thanks for the barnstar. Well, maybe you know but many users have rollback tolls which basically makes the vandalism fighting relativly quick and there are also automatic bots (although today not sure if they are in operation) which helps a lot. Even non-administrators can use some of the tool such as WP:Twinkle and Navigational popups, the two tools I used in addition to the regular admin rollback. You can get these tools if you want by visiting WP:Twinkle or Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups. There is also WP:Huggle which is even more powerful then any other tools. I did tried that one but for some reason it did not install properly. --JForget 17:39, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Jimmy Young

im not trying to disturb you or anything, but you do realize you got the wrong version of the Jimmy Young page on there, that is the vandilizers version24.188.75.141 (talk) 17:04, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

never mind, thanks24.188.75.141 (talk) 18:16, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Well the 81.xxx/86.xxx "boxing" vandal has been doing this for a very long time. I think it is over a year not sure, but I've restored the version although I did a little bit of clean-up as it was quite messy with some POV bits all across the article.. Anyways maintenance tags and citation neededs tags have being added. --JForget 18:20, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately I had to lock the article because of all the warring and also based on the frequent disruptive editing history of the 86.xxx editor. Not sure if there was a registered user puppetmaster for that one.--JForget 18:22, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

I have not "been doing this for a very long time". Get your facts right before making accusations. i note you only filled up one user page with warning messages for the 3 revert rule when 2 were doing it.

The "non-vandalized" version now contains such enlightened comments as :-

  • "the boxing commission only saw a boring fight where no fighter was in danger and the final bell was a relief to everyone in attendance"
  • "using his signature "pit pat" body blows, which had little power behind them but were effective at scoring points"
  • "it was boring and unworthy of a championship bout, with some terming the last technique "the coward's rope-a-dope"
  • "was consequently slow and immobile by his standards throughout the bout"
  • "Most viewers thought the fight was closer than the scorecard made it appear usually scoring the fight even (plus or minus one), "

Well done. You are a credit to Wikipedia and all it stands for. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.233.169 (talk) 19:14, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

i appoligize, for spelling norton wrong, and for the much greater than 3 reverts, i didnt know about that rule, i added the commision thing because you wrote ali was fighting cans (i assume trying to say he was ducking) but the truth is he fight who the commision says is the number one contender hence spinks was stripped of a title for fighting ali when the commision thought norton was the number one contender, as for the pit pat blows, the fight can be watched on youtube and thats exactly what the announcer called it, the slow and immobile by his standards (i think would be obvious because of the added weight) but i didnt write that i just got that from the old version, and same goes for the cowards rope-a-dope, i wasnt even born when this fight happened and the announcer never calls it that, so i dont know 24.188.75.141 (talk) 01:23, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

No commission told Ali to fight Dunn,Wepner, Evangelista & Coopman. They were club fighters who weren't even ranked. Its true ali fought these boxers when there were more deserving opponents out there. The commission told Ali to face number 1 contender Norton but he ignored then & chose to fight Leon SPinks instead. They didnt have the bottle to strip Ali of the title but they did when Spinks refused to meet Norton. Its not worse than your claim that young was unworthy of a rematch. Everything else you said is POV & not sourced which makes the user JForget look silly when he/she calls me a vandalizer for cutting it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.233.169 (talk) 02:14, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

i never said young was unworthy of a rematch, i believe he was, he did great, i said the commission thought it would be a boring fight and thats why he was never number one contender again (since obviously it wasnt due to his performance), if you find a source that says he was number one contender and ali didnt face him then tell me he ducked, but if he wasnt number one contender how can you blame ali for that?

by the way can we move this discussion to the jimmy young discussion page, i dont believe the admin page is the right place for it24.188.75.141 (talk) 04:09, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Definitely you two should discuss the content on the talk page of the article. I still don't see any discussions despite all the edit warring - otherwise if this continues after the protection expiration without discuss on the article's talk page, both will be blocked - this should have probably have done before. As for 86.xxx, the edit warring sounded like a similar pattern on other boxing articles which included a massive edit warring between IP-hopping anons - by the way those addresses were also registered to BT Central Plus in the UK. Now it might not be officially the same person, but who knows but the pattern looked similar, that's just my observation. Having said, though maybe it would be better for you and 24.xxx to register an account. --JForget 16:52, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
