Dear Wikipedia, the article has pointed to information already published from notable sources. Furthermore, I can't contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion." I would like to do this. Can you support in this matter? Thanks a lot, Enkelejda Miho Italdech (talk) 15:35, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Italdech. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. The page Draft:Dr. Enkelejda Miho has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

This article needs to be rewritten from scratch from reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not an outlet for promotion, advocacy, or advertising.

Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid can be located here and here, however be aware that this is not an exhaustive list. Pages can sometimes avoid these pitfalls and still be seen as an ad copy or unambiguously promotional, particularly if the editor appears to be a paid editor or has some other conflict of interest. Please review these policies, including the FAQ page on organizations to determine if this applies to you.

Common mistakes or beliefs about promotional editing center on the assumption that promotional editing only applies to promotion for commercial gain. Some tags or G11 nominations are met with confusion by creators, particularly if they spend much time reading or creating corporate documents, mission/vision statements, or similar copy for their organization. The frequent exposure to promotional tone may make it difficult to notice non-neutral phrases or styles, as the editor has grown accustomed to seeing it as everyday writing or speech. This can be difficult, but not impossible, to unlearn.

Another common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc. and CV/resumé's are by their nature promotional.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see this page on citing sources and Wikipedia:Common sourcing mistakes (notability). This page has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{Reflist}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there. New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can ask for help at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk and on IRC chat Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure is a useful tutorial.

New article creation can be difficult and frustrating. Sometimes it is better to first gain experience by fixing and helping maintain existing articles. Wikipedia:Community portal/Opentask contains links to things that badly need doing, if you are so inclined. UtherSRG (talk) 16:05, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Dr. Enkelejda Miho. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:35, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clear answer @Theroadislong! "Strongly discouraged" is not prohibited; I understand why this policy might be in place. However, the goal was to add one page with relevant, reliable and notable information. If you representing Wikipedia don't think this is notable, it is in your own right. I thank you and your colleagues for taking the time to support in this matter. Wish you a great day/evening. Italdech (talk) 16:48, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There are no "pages" on Wikipedia, there are articles about people who pass the relevant criteria at WP:GNG or WP:NACADEMIC for example. Theroadislong (talk) 16:51, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Theroadislong, thanks a lot for the clarification. The article "Enkelejda Miho" would be suitable mainly passing criteria in the WP:NACADEMIC:
1. The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. See also notes to Criterion 2, some of which apply to Criterion 1 as well.
(Scopus Research profile: https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=56411982500
and
Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=Eb4RRxwAAAAJ)
6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society.
(Established and Dean of Master of Science in Medical Informatics, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland 2018–2023).
and partly in
8. The person has been head or chief editor of a major well-established academic journal in their subject area.
(Editorial Board Immunoinformatics: https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/immunoinformatics/about/editorial-board).)
As the page indicates, there is still space for interpretation on these topics. Therefore, the decision is rightly yours representing Wikipedia as I understand from your previous clarification. Let me know if I might be of instrumental help in case you decide to draft and publish this article regarding Prof. Dr. Enkelejda Miho. Thanks again for your support and wish you all the best! Italdech (talk) 17:40, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly you need to declare any conflict of interest and then start a draft at WP:AFC. Theroadislong (talk) 17:43, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, this helps! Conflict of interest (COI) is declared in the user page. What is the best way to proceed, drafting an article or in the sandbox? Would you mind also checking the article and writing for anything that I might not be able to see as biased? Italdech (talk) 18:04, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at the deleted article. It had no references at all. It read like a promo piece. Secretlondon (talk) 18:34, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Correct. Will add the references in the draft. 2A02:1210:50D0:3700:481B:A288:8042:D582 (talk) 20:52, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
