J. Kristian O'Daugherty (director has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this person might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:Notability (people) for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" template, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod template, the article will not be deleted, but if an editor is still not satisfied that it meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. The article in question will have a much better chance of passing AfD scrutiny if you enhance the material that would make the subject clearly notable to others, while removing material that cannot be independently verified. I am committed to making Wikipedia a high-quality encyclopedia, and all articles are subject to this same degree of scrutiny. I would further ask you to review Wikipedia:No personal attacks. My submission of this article to AfD was solely based on my commitment to the Wikipedia. My knowledge of or connection to the subject of the article only drew me to look at the article in the first place -- if the article was passable in Wikipedia terms, I would not have nominated it for deletion. Please do not remove content from Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:22, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please, leave your opinions and your perception of other's opinions out of this discussion. This article is being considered for deletion based on the criteria in WP:BIO. The nominator's previous history is irrelevant, as is some personal relationship that may or may not have existed. The notability of the subject should be the only consideration. I don't appreciate your personal attacks on the character of another editor. His personal life is none of my business and it is none of yours, either. --rogerd 21:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits could give other users the impression that you may consider legal or other 'off-wiki' action against them. Please note that this is strongly discouraged under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats are often blocked indefinitely until their legal case is withdrawn or resolved. Please try to keep a cool head and work positively with other editors. Thanks.

I'm placing this notice in reference to this edit, which you later defended with only a slight backtrack. I'm beginning to suspect from your involvement that you have a conflict of interest, and may indeed be O'Daugherty or a close associate of his. Rest assured if you continue in this manner Wikipedia administrators will be notified and take appropriate action. --Dhartung | Talk 22:29, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would the fact that stevietheman is O'Daugherty's former domestic partner also disqualify him from making an edit on this article? And for the record, I am NOT directly associated with O'Daugherty, but I have worked on two productions with him. If that disqualifies me, then that would disqualify anyone working in the film or stage industry from writing articles on other people in the business. That would leave Wikipedia with little qualified people to contribute to these areas.--Ilsonlakosky 01:26, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop jumping to conclusions. Anyone with a known conflict of interest should responsibly excuse themselves from editing where applicable. But it's possible to edit anonymously, and sometimes impossible to verify whether someone is who they say they are (or are not). Thus we require all editors to abide by ironclad good faith and neutral point of view policies for their contributions. If a contribution conforms to policy then it doesn't matter who made it.
In any case, my warning was specifically about your "legal ramifications" statement. Please don't make any more of those. Deletion discussions should be decided on the basis of Wikipedia policy, not outside considerations. --Dhartung | Talk 06:40, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
