TD 13 article[edit]

User:12george1/Tropical Depression Thirteen (2011) - you might want to coordinate with User:12george1, since it appears you are both writing the same article. This is why we should have project sandboxes.Hurricanehink (talk) 13:32, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Paula mention in TS Nicole[edit]

Should Hurricane Paula be mentioned in the Nicole article? According to the TCR for Paula, it says that Nicole's circulation remained in the Caribbean, which (eventually) lead to the formation of Paula. --HurricaneFan25 17:11, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: collaboration[edit]

Yeah, I would be more than willing to. :) I've only got one GA, and my writing is "clunky," but I guess you could teach me a few things about article writing :). Which season would you like to do? HurricaneFan25 13:48, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

1992 would be fine with me! :) HurricaneFan25 14:00, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: IRC[edit]

Sure! I've already registered my nick (in June), though I don't come on that often, only when I am in an exceptionally good mood, like today. ;) Might be on later today, or tomorrow! HurricaneFan25 11:44, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

GOCE drive newsletter[edit]

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their November 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on November 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on November 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles (and specifically will be targeting the oldest three months), as we want to copy edit as many of these as possible. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.

WikiCup 2011 October newsletter[edit]

The 2011 WikiCup is now over, and our new champion is Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), who joins the exclusive club of the previous winners: Dreamafter (2007), jj137 (2008), Durova (2009) and Sturmvogel_66 (2010). The final standings were as follows:

  1. Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions)
  2. Australia Sp33dyphil (submissions)
  3. Greece Yellow Evan (submissions)
  4. Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions)
  5. Ohio Wizardman (submissions)
  6. Scotland Casliber (submissions)
  7. Canada Resolute (submissions)
  8. Russia PresN (submissions)

Prizes for first, second, third and fourth will be awarded, as will prizes for all those who reached the final eight. Every participant who scored in the competition will receive a ribbon of participation. In addition to the prizes based on placement, the following special prizes will be awarded based on high performance in particular areas of content creation. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, the prize is awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round.

No prize was awarded for featured pictures, sounds or portals, as none were claimed throughout the competition. The awards will be handed out over the next few days. Congratulations to all our participants, and especially our winners; we've all had fun, and Wikipedia has benefitted massively from our content work.

Preparation for next year's WikiCup is ongoing. Interested parties are invited to sign up and participate in our straw polls. It's been a pleasure to work with you all this year, and, whoever's taking part in and running the competition in 2012, we hope to see you all in January! Some improvements have been made since your last comment and you might like to check to see if your concerns have been met. Regards AIRcorn (talk) 23:20, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your input. I am not really a Hurricane fan, although there seems to be no shortage of them on here. Most of the work was done by 12george1, I just fixed a few citation needed tags, hoping that would be enough to push it over. My aim in asking for a re-check was more to make sure the delist votes took into account the recent work as they all piled on soon after it was nominated. AIRcorn (talk) 00:44, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

By the title and content, I think you forgot to put "Wikipedia:" in the front, so I have moved this to Wikipedia:WikiProject Tropical cyclones/Hurricane Ivan and will nominate the former for deletion. Hope that helps :) Nolelover Talk·Contribs 18:22, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ack, sorry! It was my mistake, yeah. Auree 18:23, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In Hurricane Juan, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Outflow (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
