Ortigas intersection

Hi Howard, Re this edit, see EDSA Shrine, this map, and this map zoomed in on the EDSA Shrine location. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 23:40, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

That area is where Quezon City, Pasig and Mandaluyong meet. Quezon City's southernmost extension is Saint Pedro Poveda College. It's nowhere near Manila some 2 hours away in a bad day. –Howard the Duck 13:06, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm not involved in the discussion. I was just trying to be helpful since your edit summary said that you were not sure where Ortigas intersection is. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 00:36, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Infobox

Hello there Howard, I am new to Wikipedia. Is it possible for you to tell me how to create an infobox? I hope you can help me on this. Thanks very much.Iwonder2007 (talk) 08:22, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Peparazzi edits

Im sure you've heard of my complaint about the edits made by Peparazzi. I am willing to wait for the outcome of that from Wikipedia talk:Requested moves. However, I have reverted many times Peparazzi's edits on Panday Kids image File:PandayKids.JPG. It is blantant that the image that Peparazzi continously use is tampered. I have provided enough explanation and source of the real image from the official website, but now Peparazzi is now "mimicking" my comment on the edit, please refer to the image's file history. I dont know what to do anymore. Please help. -- ISWAK3 (talk) 11.19, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

You could try WP:AN/I or contact an admin. They could do it faster and better. –Howard the Duck 11:30, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Would it be possible for you to add the 1912 and 1986 variants? Thanks. Banana Fingers (talk) 10:25, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

It is protected. Please supply an admin with the filenames so that s/he can do it. –Howard the Duck 11:07, 29 March 2010 (UTC)

yes i know its not yet aired in 2009, i changed it to 2010 ok.... see the changes ok.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by MsGanda (talkcontribs) 09:17, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

To Howard The Duck, all you can see now is year 2010 not 2009 ok!!!, Please see it first before reverting ok...., i know its not yet aired in 2009... all my edits are true why because some characters are license to the other Rival Station GMA 7, for example. Captain Barbell, Darna, & Dyesebel... ok... & also Angel Locsin, Piolo Pascual, Etc ABS-CBN Talents & Not From GMA 7 some people here made us believe that they are on the show but not... they have others shows in the channells not yet been aired and its impossible for them to be on this show.. ok —Preceding unsigned comment added by MsGanda (talkcontribs) 09:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

  • Nobody said that cats for Filipino footballers are restricted for club players. However, you have to admit that he is the odd one out in the cat in question. Only playing in his school days. And school teams are NOT "club" teams. If you look at someone like Gordon Ramsay for example, he's a former footballer in his youth days, attached to an actual football club but never made it as a footballer, and he's not categorized as a footballer, rightly so.
  • Clubs in the cat for Philippine footy clubs, they are actual clubs.... yes like Chelsea F.C. or whatever else. They're just not professional. The exceptions are those FA's that are listed... those should be removed. Banana Fingers (talk) 20:08, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
I dunno. In a completely different sport of American football, would you consider the first winner of the Heisman Trophy, Jay Berwanger, removed from Category:American football running backs for he didn't play football again after he graduated? Plus, if you remove the different FAs in the Filipino footy categories, most of those which are left are essentially extensions of the varsity teams. For example, Diliman FC are for UP Fighting Maroons alumni, same for Mendiola United FC and the San Beda Red Lions. Most players of the national team are varsity team players.
If we'd go through your example, no Filipino footballer would be included in that category unless he played outside the Philippines. –Howard the Duck 03:03, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm... OK, fair enough about the example of Berwanger I guess. However, he did get drafted though, even if he didn't play. Plus he won that award, which is related to him being an American football player. So perhaps makes some sense that he's still categorized as running back?
Well, those FA's aren't football clubs whichever way you look at it. That's why they're "FA's", they're football associations not football clubs. And so what if the only clubs left are those alumni type clubs? There are hardly any notable Filipino football clubs. There are still articles on teams that are not extensions of a school.
No Filipino footballer would be included in that category? Like who? They do play club football, there are hardly any articles on Filipino footballers to begin with. Banana Fingers (talk) 08:16, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
The thing with Berwanger and Chua is that they excelled in varsity football. I would've bet Chua won something as a footballer while playing in Letran's varsity team. After all, he won't be called as that school's "Mr. Football" if he didn't receive any awards. The U.S. and the Philippines have the same system of "youth football" (or other sports in that matter) unlike the Europeans which have football academies and feeder clubs.
I don't really care what happens on those Filipino club articles. More than likely those alumni clubs are clubs in the university sense, only that they have real day jobs and they just split amongst themselves whatever they win on whatever matches they play.
Looking at Category:Filipino footballers, there are no players that were notable for playing for a local club in the country. Either they're a part of the national team, or are expats who played in foreign leagues. –Howard the Duck 09:46, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
The only thing I could find about him being "Mr. football" is that football is his first passion and he's recognizable for it and not because of any awards he has won. Banana Fingers (talk) 10:00, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Those awards maybe lost in history. Philippine news sources don't really report on local soccer tournaments, and seeing that he was active in the 80s,and he played high school soccer, we may never be able to find them, unless someone goes to Letran and ask them. Even they may not be able to provide an answer. –Howard the Duck 10:12, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Re: On varsity teams not being "club" teams. Maybe not outside the Philippines, but in the Philippines, varsity teams are allowed to enter tournaments involving club teams. For example, the San Beda Red Lions and the Ateneo Blue Eagles both won in the PFF National Men's Open Championship. –Howard the Duck 10:12, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
School/Collegiate/etc. enter those tournaments but it still doesn't mean they are "club" teams. Banana Fingers (talk) 10:39, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
See Sports club. –Howard the Duck 10:48, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Let me rephrase what I said. Those school/collegiate/etc. aren't proper football clubs. They're not like a Chelsea or an LA Galaxy, etc. They're just general sports clubs under an educational institution and not like football clubs as they're known. School teams don't and can't turn pro or anything like that. Banana Fingers (talk) 11:03, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
True. Nor would I consider the Filipino clubs professional the way Chelsea FC is professional. –Howard the Duck 11:06, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Articles per legislative district

Then we will have a lot of articles for defunct "at-large" districts, which reference to provinces/cities which elected representatives at large during the Second Philippine Republic and Regular Batasang Pambansa. --Scorpion prinz (Talk | contribs) 08:13, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes we'd have to create them. –Howard the Duck 08:23, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm not yet keen on pursuing it, they will end more like stubs. --Scorpion prinz (Talk | contribs) 10:48, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
They won't be deleted anyway. What we need are their political parties. –Howard the Duck 11:44, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Which you know will be difficult to obtain. Besides it will make it harder to cite references if they are individualized. --Scorpion prinz (Talk | contribs) 13:01, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Someday we'd see a goldmine of info. LOL. –Howard the Duck 13:14, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Not when COMELEC's office has been burned to ashes, that's where I photocopied my documents. Not even the House library would keep the political affiliations of their members.--Scorpion prinz (Talk | contribs) 13:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
We'd find something somewhere. I suppose some libraries of news paper articles. They may have some. –Howard the Duck 13:28, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Find it and then I'll consent to it. I can't even dig up per-province election returns from the Congress' canvassing of presidential elections before Martial Law. The votes of Manuel Quezon and Sergio Osmeña in 1941 are not even based on official resources.--Scorpion prinz (Talk | contribs) 01:25, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
We don't even need to list the parties -- we can live them blank. –Howard the Duck 04:57, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Current events globe On 19 April 2010, In the news was updated with a news item that involved the article Edwin Valero, which you recently nominated. If you know of another interesting news item involving a recently created or updated article, then please suggest it on the candidates page.

DYK nomination for Jejemon

Hi. Your article Jejemon is eligible in principle for DYK, but the hook you have proposed is problematic. Please visit the discussion at Template talk:Did you know#Jejemon and propose a different hook. Thanks! - DustFormsWords (talk) 23:13, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

House seats map (Election 2010)

I think the color / party in the 1st district (Northern Quezon) and 2nd district (Western Quezon) of Quezon is wrong. In the current map: 1st district belongs to Liberal, when in fact it should be Nacionalista. 2nd district belongs to Nacionalista, when in fact it should be Liberal Party. Also, there is no LP candidate in the 1st district. And another question, in case of another mistake/s in the map (the party or its color in other legislative districts), can anyone or anybody (aside from you, the creator) revise the said file. – Frj1947 (talk) 21:57, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

LOL I mixed them up. I looked at the 2007 results and realized it. Any one registed at Wikimedia Commons (all English Wikipedia accounts automatically have one) can upload his/her own version. –Howard the Duck 01:37, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Clarification: Quezon-1st is the district that borders Aurora, Quezon-2nd is the district that borders Batangas, therefore it is correct. See Legislative districts of Quezon and this. –Howard the Duck 15:27, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

"I think the Tagalog wikipedia is useless, for English is the medium of instruction."

What are your bases of this you quoted last June 2, 2006? - Delfindakila (talk) 02:32, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Unless they changed it, using Tagalog Wikipedia as an education tool isn't that helpful if English is the medium of instruction. –Howard the Duck 11:41, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

RE:Party changes

They were done before the elections, however on Evardone's case I found out that he ran as an Independent as the Lakas Kampi didnt nominate the incumbent Rep. Coquilla or him. Rizalninoynapoleon (talk) 15:31, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

I suggest you leave edit summaries so I won't have to bother you by asking what is happening. –Howard the Duck 15:33, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Can you please change the winning color in Marinduque in Philippine gubernatorial elections, 2010 from Liberal Party to Bigkis Pinoy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Raigeiki55 (talkcontribs) 01:24, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
