Divine Life Society

Hi! I see that you added a section titled "Teachings of Yoga." The current article already links to Swami Sivanand's wiki page [which provides context on his teachings). Additionally, we can either link to the "Yoga" wikipedia page or add "Yoga" under "See Also." Not sure what additional value the "Teachings of Yoga" sub section is providing in relation to "Divine Life Society" wiki page. Curious to hear your thoughts. Hi WhiteStar12! I wanted to add the teachings of the Divine Life Society and thought yoga was a good place to start. I can work on adding more and make this section for just teachings or add different sections for different teachings. What do you think? I think linking to the Yoga wikipedia page and putting it under "See Also" is a good idea! We can add Swami Sivananda's page under "See Also" so it's easier to get to! I agree with adding Yoga & Swami Sivananda wiki pages under See Also. I do think the "Teachings" section needs more context aside from just yoga, and it sounds like you'll be working on that. I'll also continue updating the article. Whitestar12 (talk) 01:15, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Just wanted to follow up. If we are not adding additional information, then I think maybe the "Teachings of Yoga" section could be deleted since "Yoga" is listed under the "See Also" section. Thoughts? Whitestar12 (talk) 01:35, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi DanCherek, I had no idea! Thank you so much for explaining this to me. I assumed it was okay to copy and paste information but attribution makes a lot of sense. @Hemmingweigh, To my knowledge English Wikipedia does not have any article on topic of Goddess Rajrajeshwari, that is why I contacted you.

'Rajeshwari' and 'Rajrajeshwari' seem to be "kuldevi' family deity to good number of Indian Kings and royals and yet no coverage on English Wikipedia.

May be you can start a new section within article Devi for this goddess. You can search for information on google books with search terms like "Goddess Rajeshwari", 'Goddess Rajrajeshwari', "Kuldevi Rajeshwari", 'Kuldevi Rajrajeshwari', "Rajeshwari Temple", 'Goddess Rajrajeshwari Temple' etc.

• Note:I have not seen source but I guess different Kings used title 'Rajeshwari' and 'Rajrajeshwari' as a title for 'kuldevi' or various goddesses same time some devotees and Kings followed 'Rajeshwari' and 'Rajrajeshwari' as independent deity.

Regarding Vamana

Hello. I strongly suggest that you not remove or make alterations to sourced content in the future as you did with Vamana purely on the basis of you, as an individual, not fully understanding what it is trying to convey. If you wish content to be explained to you, you're welcome to open a talkpage discussion and request editors familiar with the subject to do so. Your not understanding it is not grounds for deletion. Hi Chronikhiles ^(talk), thanks for reaching out. I take your input seriously, and would welcome a full explanation of why that specific sentence should not have been deleted if you could please provide it. I was saying I didn't understand and the general reader wouldn't either as a way of saying the sentence was not clear, not to say that I specifically don't understand and that is the reason for deletion. Here are a few of the reasons I have deleted this sentence, if you could touch on these points in your explanation. I will post this on the Vamana talk page as well as per your suggestion. 1.) This sentence was a direct copy and past from page 24 of the source cited, which is plagiarism. 2.) The source cited was describing the avatars of Vishnu in terms of anthropomorphism versus zoomorphism, and saying that an avatar is anthropomorphic without this context changes the meaning. 3.) Page 78 of the cited source conveys a seemingly opposite meaning than the sentence that was plagiarized (that Vamana is anthropomorphic not allegory): "The first four zoomorphic Avatars betray distinct marks of allegory, while Anthropomorphic Vamana, the fifth incarnation of this list, is an enlargement of the idea of Vishnu's three strides, alluded to in the Rigveda."
