WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre[edit]

Hello! Now, some of you might be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with, the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

Mobius Science Center revert[edit]

Excuse me, but there is nothing promotional about the edit I made earlier about the Mobius Science Center, and I would hedge that 10/10 people would support an edit, having no issue with it. The edit is a simple and brief summary/commentary about the science centers goals in the community and how it contributes to the culture of Spokane. I don’t see how it can be construed in any way as a promotion for the science center or the City of Spokane. Also, this edit was not copied; I paraphrased. The only structure that the sentence I made and the MSC mission statement (which the sentence is based on) have in common is the widely used idiom “science, technology, engineering, and math” or "STEM": ”Located in the heart of downtown Spokane, Mobius Science Center provides the Inland Northwest with new ways to learn about science, technology, engineering and math, preparing the next generation to compete in the world ahead. Mobius Science Center ignites the imaginations of people ages 8 to 108 with fascinating exhibits, technology and dynamic educational programs.”

Also, I am not sure what prior edits you are referring to when you say, “Based on previous edits by this IP...” I have made many edits and have contributed significantly and created in-whole many of the sections on that article...and this is the only revert of my edits Ive ever seen. I am here to try to make this article better and bring it to featured status. If you have any issues, I welcome suggestions to be a better contributor.

In the future, I would suggest that you be more constructive and simply fix the issue about the sentence rather than simply deleting the entry; the science center is very relevant to the Culture section and its exclusion makes the article less comprehensive in scope. I am placing this sentence back where it belongs in the Culture section unaltered. I will add a Spokesman article reference in addition to the primary source MSC website though. However, this is not needed per Wikipedia policy:

“Policy: Unless restricted by another policy, primary sources that have been reliably published may be used in Wikipedia; but only with care, because it is easy to misuse them…A primary source may only be used on Wikipedia to make straightforward, descriptive statements of facts that can be verified by any educated person with access to the source but without further, specialized knowledge...”

No worries about the revert. Its easy to put back in, I was sort of only concerned that you were casting doubt or somehow took issue with my whole body of edits and might start chopping sections off, lol. I actually just realized yesterday I was assigned a different IP-my previous two were 75.106.230.86 and most recently, 75.106.202.98. Im glad that youre watching the article and I hope you contribute more to the article in the future-the article has very few (none really) serious registered editors, which is a shame because I believe it is of featured quality and would pass the FAC.
Anyway, about the sentence...feel free to change it however you like, as long as it contains the info it needs. Also, Im totally with you on trying to find a secondary source for the sentence-obviously thats always the best option. I tried to find a Spokesman article, but I couldnt find one that solely talks about the Science Center and what theyre all about-the only one I could find was specifically about the opening and location. So, until we find a better one, Id just rather use the MSC website-it does the job.

Yeah, Wikipedia might have a shortage of U.S. Presidential campaign articles, especially for the older campaigns. That said, I might create an article for Grover Cleveland's 1884 campaign and/or for someone else's Presidential campaign later on. Do you like my 1888 Grover Cleveland Presidential campaign article? I'll strike the note about the unconstructive edit, as I did not quite notice what was being changed (which means it's officially time for bed). It's not about options; it's about usage. The definition universal to the English language of "mummy" is presented at the start of the disambiguation page. The term referring to "mother" only applies to certain dialects of the English language, just as the other definitions of mummy are only relevant in/to certain regions/people. That is why Mummy as an embalmed corpse is in the introduction while other definitions are not. I don't really pay attention to the Mummy (disambiguation) page, so if you want the lead section altered, you should probably start a conversation on the talk page of that disambiguation page, and see if you can gain consensus for your proposal. Why try to stop exposure?[edit]

These are all recent and current events and by trying to cover up the details of them is discriminatory because people need to know the inside details of all of these current events. The one in particular is the link up between these fraudulent marketers and Wikipedia describing themselves to a tee stemming all the way from their internet spam advertisements. All those people do is clog up the internet like cat hair in a drain, I mean, come on, let's face it, anyone who says that you can get rich quick by serving their corporation from your own home scamming others out of fair trade commissions by serving identity thieves that use illicit money laundering and extortion to fund their own pages and then openly attack the marketplace and every other legitimate form of advertisement is completely, ridiculously and hilariously wrong. HEY, really, you can't advertise an advertising agency, yourself as an advertising guru "CEO" or even ONE advertising software tool as something for someone else to advertise as a job working for them on the internet, that is FRAUD. What's even worse is everybodys rude and introverted opinions that they challenge fact with, even when they are or are not an actual part of the malicious entity themselves. Talk page revert[edit]

Hello. You sent me a message concerning my edits on Talk:Impalement. The reason why I removed that part of the Talk section is because it is homophobic, and repeatedly uses gay as a slur, and then the person says that homosexuals should be impaled, and compares homosexuality with pedophilia. I quote; "If the punishment fits the crime, then the only thing I can think of is anal rape (child or adult) or homosexuality." This is completely the opposite of constructive, is offensive and hurtful, and it adds absolutely nothing to knowledge concerning the article about Impalement. The reason I reverted your edit was because talk page discussions should generally not be removed, regardless of how offensive they may be to some, unless they fall under things such as spam, blatant vandalism, or something so bad, Oversight has to do something about it. Had I been able to get to this message earlier, I would've told you I'd just let your re-revert be another editor's decision, but another editor already made a decision on it. If you want to revert it again, you may, but if another editor reverts your revert, you shouldn't revert it one more time, or else you will violate The Three Revert Rule.
If you want to become a more regular editor on the site, you may want to consider creating an account, but there's nothing forcing you to.
