Welcome![edit]

Hello, GiGiDiazLIVE, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Seizing Happy®, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Thank you so much for this helpful response! I would very much appreciate your help to get my business Seizing Happy listed on WikiPedia with your proofreading. It's very generous of you to offer your proofreading. THANK YOU! If you need any additional information please let me know. I had a 3rd party editor update my GiGi Diaz page and al the edits were denied - they consisted of adding updated citations from interviews I've been featured on as well as breaking down my media and entrepreneur career separately but all changes were denied and the 3rd party editor was told they were "vandalizing" the page. What do I need to do to update my GiGi Diaz page? Can you help me with that as well if I send over the details? Thanks again! You're so much kinder and more informative than the person my 3rd party editor encountered. GiGiDiazLIVE (talk) 19:54, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi GiGiDiazLIVE, as an encyclopedia Wikipedia is not for promotion so editing with a Conflict of interest is strongly discouraged because in general because it is extremely hard to be neutral. Any attempt to use Wikipedia for promotion is looked on very negatively and yes some editors deal with combating promotion a lot do get a bit jaded and become less polite - but Wikipedia:Assume good faith and Wikipedia:Civility are key standards here. I did not look at GiGi Diaz much but there is a lot of unsourced material, dead sources and non reliable sources so only adding material backed by independent reliable sources is likely to stand. Unfortunately there are a lot of "3rd party editors" that charge for adding or improving articles here but that goes against the policies and undisclosed paid editing gets people banned quickly and they often promise things they cannot deliver. As we are all volunteer editors having others paid to use an Encyclopedia for promotion and ignoring all policies does annoy people. As for Draft:Seizing Happy® all new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). You have three sources the first does not read as independent as it feels promotional and with all the large quotes and ™ symbols and the fact that all the sites articles read like promotion, the second is just PR, the third is an interview that is thus not an independent reliable source so does not count to notability. if you can find 3+ independent reliable sources with significant coverage then use them as sources, if not it may be best to just work on your business and when you reach a notable level of success people will write an article about it. I hope that makes sense (but I'm tired so maybe not). Do note the notice lower down to the Wikipedia:Teahouse where new editors can get questions answered by lots of experienced editors rather than hoping an individual replies, as many of us come and go due to real-life issues. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 20:43, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no the third party editor was not someone I hired. It was a radio listener who has been following me for years and saw the page needed updating. This is not someone who I know personally. I know it happened cause she sent me a DM showing me the screen shot that she tried fixing exactly what you mentioned with the sources and adding proper siting and was told not to. I guess it's just going to have to stay with the citations as is and not updated cause I definitely dont want to edit it myself as that's against rules. Maybe someone else will note it's outdated at some point and the person who seems to be watching it will allow the updates to happen. The value of updated wikipedia pages is immeasurable and the work you guys do is important. Thank you GiGiDiazLIVE (talk) 20:51, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough - Unfortunately sometimes fans are confused with paid editors wrongly, some editors forget how passionate some people get, in the end their is no way to know so I like to assume good faith. Like many "jobs" (even volunteer ones) combating negative influences it's easy to start seeing bad in everyone... I (and others) keep that evil tendency at bay by just walking away for a bit. Fans (or just someone impressed with a particular thing) do tend use interviews and other non-independent sources not understanding due to how some lie and distort we cannot use. Your reply above makes think you understand and I wish you all the best in your ventures: "Seizing Happy", "success" and "less stress" sound good to me :). All the best KylieTastic (talk) 21:09, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
