Sandbach: Black Lives Matter

Please read and understand WP:SOAPBOX. And then read and understand WP:AGF. This material does not warrant a full section in an article about Sandbach, and your addition of dates and insinuations of racism within the actual article are unencyclopedic and suggest that you are not here to write an encyclopaedia. From your own edit summary "this section is added to celebrate those leading progress in addressing inequalities". Wikipedia is not a vehicle for "celebrating" or memorialising things. My reversion of your edits was purely editorial, and apolitical: I have nothing against BLM but Wikipedia has editorial policies, which editors are expected to follow. Hi Hannah – thanks for your post on my talk page. The fact that the BLM incidents in Sandbach were mentioned in the Guardian (were there any other mentions in the national press that you're aware of?) probably does establish some sort of notability, the lack of which was one of my concerns, initially; at face value as an outsider this looked (with apologies if this sounds rude or patronising) like an account of a minor spat on a local Facebook page, and an attempt to drum up support for a particular group or event, neither of which is really appropriate for inclusion on Wikipedia. It's also a concern that you are clearly an interested party, which probably isn't an ideal position to edit from (see WP:COI). So in summary, my two concerns are (a) whether the incidents you describe are sufficiently notable to merit inclusion in a short article that covers a town with a 1000-year history and (b) whether the facts are presented in a non-partisan way. I could be persuaded against (a), though I still don't think this merits more than a sentence or two and not an entire section to itself, but I'm still concerned about (b). While I'm entirely on your side in the fight against racism, I'm not sure that a committed activist and participant in a cause is the best person to write dispassionately and neutrally about it. Perhaps you could reduce your proposed text to two sentences, sticking carefully to the facts and avoiding any interpretation, and propose it on the Talk:Sandbach page, I and others can comment and propose changes. Once consensus has been achieved, the text can be inserted into the article. Commenting on the editorial process within the article itself is a no-no, so please don't do that.
