If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Maddoxine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Regarding Speedy Deletion
Hello, DylanSteed. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia.
I'm sorry, but this has been deleted as meeting one or more of the Categories for Speedy Deletion.
Generally, articles are speedily deleted when there is no assertion of significance or they fall into things to avoid or what Wikipedia is not.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject.
Sometimes articles are deleted because they contain content copyrighted elsewhere. Such content can be used as a source of information, but the content here must be completely rewritten from scratch.
Some articles contain material written in a promotional tone. These must often be written from scratch. They are vigorously deleted.
Any content that is negative in tone and unsourced or which is disparaging will also be vigorously deleted.
Any deficiencies with notability, sourcing, or things to avoid should be remedied before reposting as they can lead to repeated deletions.
For test edits, click DylanSteed/sandbox
If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard to guide you through the creation process.

If you have verifiable information from reliable sources that show subject does meet notability requirements Let me know.
CONTENT IN ARTICLES NEEDS TO BE RELIABLY SOURCED.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Ida Tarbell does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Also please refrain from opinions. Make sure it is backed up by proper citation. Reb1981 (talk) 23:39, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Ida Tarbell. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Home Lander (talk) 23:42, 10 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well[edit]

the latest iteration is better. But we need sourcing unconnected to the subject. Still don't see an assertion of "significance", but we'll see if another admin deletes it.Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:17, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dlohcierekim the significance is there. If there are 3rd party sources needed, It would be flattering if it were that important that if you edited a few in rather than deleting the page as a whole. Secondly, there is no other reason to delete the page and you are (in my opinion) abusing your power.

There's no coverage, I've searched in google it only links to a few comments and online profiles, 500 subs is nothing notable, why is an admin abusing power? Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 00:24, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
<ec> The onus is on you as article creator to find 3rd party sourcing. I found none, which was a factor in my decision to honor the CSD tag. If you do not have 3rd party sourcing, the subject does not meet notability requirements for an encyclopedia article. If you don't mind me asking, have you some connection to the subject? Such a conflict of interest should be declared. I know from personal experience that having one's first article can be vexing, but I sense something more than that here.Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:28, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That's an interesting choice of words from a new user. Is there anything you are not sharing with us? No? Well, I generally leave articles for the next admin if reposted after I delete them. If I have erred, then I do apologize. But will see if it is again deleted or not.Dlohcierekim (talk) 00:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Johnny I do believe that your harassment at this point is as uncalled for as the nominations for the deletion of my page(s). The channel is notable and will likely become more notable over time. The article isn't about notability, it is simply a short biography on a small yet notable YouTuber.

This is not harassing, and stop making false accusations, they are a serious problem, what is your criteria to say the youtuber is notable? Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 00:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The youtuber does not pass the criteria at WP:GNG, and saying they are notable because they have 500 subs is incorrect. Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 00:36, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Johnny my criteria is met at when the person has over 600 fans outside of YouTube, bringing his total fan base to over a thousand. Secondly, he is continuing to grow in popularity and I find it amusing that you do not consider a fan base of over a thousand notable.

I shan't continue with this if you refuse to understand what notability really is. Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 00:41, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well then Lil Johnny, be my guest and explain it to me.

WP:N should explain it a lot better than many of us can, basically, if the subject has received significant coverage, the subject is notable, but there are more criteria. Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 00:47, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You can read WP:PEOPLE too. Lil Johnny (talk) (contribs) 00:50, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Johnny It is my valid belief and the belief of others that this individual meets the requirements, and the fact that the page was deleted is uncalled for.

What others?Dlohcierekim (talk) 16:26, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And the thing has been deleted twice now since Lil Johnny posted here, so he has nothing to do with the matter at present. You can certainly appeal at Wikipedia:Deletion review.Dlohcierekim (talk) 16:30, 11 May 2017 (UTCDlohcierekim The thing that has not deserved to be deleted has been deleted...

Dylan[edit]

This is how one writes a lead and sources an article. Happy editing.😜Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:30, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PS. Pro tip. One should already have sourcing in place before creating an article. However, on the CSD template in the lower right corner is a place that says, "Consider checking Google". If you click that line, instant Google search, which is how I found the BBC blurb.Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:34, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I also recommend using WP:DRAFTS before putting an article on main space. You will be advised what needs to be fixed when you submit it to draft as well. Reb1981 (talk) 21:49, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
