Review Request[edit]

Hi Sir. Hope you are doing well. Can you please review my recent page Alaap (2024 film).

Thanks

BhikhariInformer (talk) 14:01, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@BhikhariInformer, I don't think this film meets NFF criteria, so I can only review it after its release. – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:48, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay.

It appears notable under the WP:NACTOR criteria, but there are many unsourced credits in the filmography section. Please add reliable sources for them or remove them if you are unable to find sources. Once that's taken care of, I'd be more than happy to accept this submission. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:02, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Many Unsourced credits have been removed; some credits have Wikipedia pages, so they were not removed. 2409:4071:D1D:92DE:0:0:EF88:D501 (talk) 14:07, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BOT[edit]

Hello @DreamRimmer, can you make test changes with the bot for bureaucrats to see? Lionel Cristiano? 20:24, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Lionel Cristiano, I'm just waiting for any bureaucrat to respond. If they ask, I'll happily make some test edits. – DreamRimmer (talk) 10:36, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrats are not very interested, if you make a test change and present it to the bureaucrats, they may give you bot status. Lionel Cristiano? 10:41, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if running an unapproved bot is allowed on Turkish Wikipedia or not, so I'll only be able to make test edits if someone requests them on the bot request page. – DreamRimmer (talk) 10:47, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Rules on Living person Biography[edit]

Hello @DreamRimmer, recently i have added some information with reliable reference on Ravindra Singh Bhati, related to his criminal charges, he is a political figure and there are six criminal charges on him but some wiki user removed that information stating that it is unnecessary information , please let me know that is such information against or not to Wikipedia rules. Beacause i think that such information related to political figures should not be hidden from Public. Thanks. TheSlumPanda (talk) 10:06, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April ANEWS[edit]

Hey DreamRimmer, I feel like the blurb for RFA2024 is way too long. I don't really see a need to mention every single proposal that passed but at the same time I'm not sure how to phrase it in a better way. Would you mind looking into it. Thanks -- EN-Jungwon 14:20, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@EN-Jungwon, I can tweak the wording, but I believe the current content would be beneficial. If you disagree, I'm happy to make adjustments. – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:47, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EN-Jungwon, I'll distribute it in a few minutes. Please let me know if you'd like to handle it. – DreamRimmer (talk) 17:26, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it wouldn't be a problem even if the wording is long. It just felt weird because I've not seen such long blurbs in ANEWS before. You can go ahead and send it out. I still don't have a laptop so I don't want to mess something up while sending the MMS on my phone. Happy editing! -- EN-Jungwon 18:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EN-Jungwon Should we use "Phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship review has concluded. Several proposals have passed outright and will proceed to implementation, including discussion-only periods and administrator elections on a trial basis. Other successful proposals, such as creating tenure requirements, will undergo further refinement in Phase II. Those passed on a trial basis will be discussed in Phase II after their trials conclude. Further details on specific proposals can be found in the full report."?DreamRimmer (talk) 18:34, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah this is better than the current wording. -- EN-Jungwon 01:53, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have polished it up and I'm sending it out today. Just reaching out to @Theleekycauldron to make sure the new wording works for them. – DreamRimmer (talk) 08:51, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

RFA2024 update: phase I concluded, phase II begins[edit]

Hi there! Phase I of the Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review has concluded, with several impactful changes gaining community consensus and proceeding to various stages of implementation. Some proposals will be implemented in full outright; others will be discussed at phase II before being implemented; and still others will proceed on a trial basis before being brought to phase II. The following proposals have gained consensus:

See the project page for a full list of proposals and their outcomes. A huge thank-you to everyone who has participated so far :) looking forward to seeing lots of hard work become a reality in phase II. theleekycauldron (talk), via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:08, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rename policy question[edit]

Hello. I don't see anything about this on the rename request page, (or the username policy page,) so I figured I'd ask you. I'm looking to rename to a username, but this username is already registered in the Spanish Wikipedia, and the Spanish Wiktionary. I tried going through Special:GlobalRenameRequest to rename, but it said it was already taken. I'm not asking you to rename me, I'm just asking, where should I put my rename request? The username is Nyx if you need it. Thanks in advance. BerryForPerpetuity (talk) 12:35, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@BerryForPerpetuity, thanks for reaching out. There are two types of rename processes: one is a simple rename, where the target account is not already registered, and the second is usurpation, where you can request to usurp a registered usernamet if it is inactive and has no edits, although a few edits are okay. Special:GlobalRenameRequest is only for requesting simple renames. If the target account is registered and you want to usurp that username, then you can submit a usurpation request on English Wikipedia's usurpation venue. (Target account must have English Wikipedia as its home wiki) If it is registered on any other project, you can submit a usurpation request on Meta. Please note that 'Nyx' has significant edits on the Spanish Wikipedia, so it is not eligible for usurpation. I hope this helps. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:27, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Thank you for the assistance :) BerryForPerpetuity (talk) 16:30, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

MediaWiki message delivery 16:41, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, DreamRimmer,

You shouldn't have tagged this page for speedy deletion after it was moved and I shouldn't have deleted it as it has resulted in dozens of broken redirects. See Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion#Deleted redirects to TM103: Hustlerz Ambition for some of the consequences, just a few of them that editors have asked to be restored. Please never tag a page for deletion immediately after an article page move as it takes a few hours for Wikipedia's bots to change redirects to point to the new article title. I think we both made a mistake here, you for tagging the old page for deletion and me for not asking more question before deleting it. Let's not do this again. Liz Read! Talk! 02:57, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz, yes, you are right. Please don't blame yourself; this was solely my mistake. I knew there were some redirects that needed to be retargeted to the new title, but I was on mobile at the time, so I planned to fix them later on the computer. However, in the meantime, they got deleted. But don't worry, I'll be more careful next time, and I apologies for any wasted time and resources here. – DreamRimmer (talk) 03:10, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
