Conversation on admin noticeboard re: block of ISP for low-income users

I have started a conversation regarding a block of an ISP for low income users that was initiated two and a half years ago and was recently lifted. You were one of the people that helped review the initial block or helped review it when it was lifted. I am cordially inviting you to join in the conversation.

Planz wiki page was deleted

Could you please let us know why this page is deleted. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Planz&action=edit&redlink=1 This is a PIM tool that is developed by KFTF group at the University of Washington. If the wiki page is not applicable, can we link it to the page in our website? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhuricha (talkcontribs) 01:48, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I got asked by the deleting administrator to recheck this article and its deletion.
The basic reason it got deleted was that if Planz is looked at as a software product (like any other software), then it doesn't appear to be likely to meet our inclusion criteria. if you read our page on notability and What Wikipedia is not, and the quick guide on some practical aspects in the header of the notability noticeboard you'll get an idea what kind of criteria are considered in the decision. In the case of Planz, self-placed coverage would usually include most writings and talks, etc, by its creators, because these are things most author(s) of software could do if they wished (see section: . Notability: Self-promotion and indiscriminate publicity).
If you feel, having read those pages, that Planz does meet the criteria, then providing links or evidence at the noticeboard would be a good way to get feedback. Note that the noticeboard is not a decision making process, its aim is to give informal feedback to article creators on whether an article seems likely to be viable. If it does not meet site criteria, then you can ask for the text of your article and there are many web sites or web hosts it can be put on, but Wikipedia would not be appropriate because it is not a public webhost.
Hope this helps, do ask if you need more help. FT2 (Talk | email) 04:00, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Live Native Deletion

Dear Dragonfly, On 3 August you deleted one of the articles I created giving the reason that it is "much too promotional". It looks like this was done as a "speedy deletion" and not as a "proposed deletion". Can you please explain in what way you think this article is "much too promotional" and meets the criteria for "speedy deletion" and was not appropriate for a "proposed deletion"? On 13 July I received feedback from an editor who did not recommend deletion but had some useful suggestions which I would like the opportunity to address. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback/2010_July_13#Live_Native Is there a procedure that would allow me to do this? Surely this is only fair. Many thanks, --77.99.150.75 (talk) 14:33, 6 August 2010 (UTC) Sorry, I signed off before logging in... --PressedBack (talk) 14:36, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Idiots at Charlie Anders

As one of the alleged "idiots messing with the article" I must first ask you to assume good faith (which your edit comment shows you have not), and also to explain why you reverted a clear fact -- that Charlie Anders is the pen name of Charlie Anders Kooperman. Are you claiming this is untrue or irrelevant? I am rather baffled. Bigdaddy1981 (talk) 22:35, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Dear Dragonfly I came in to add more content and see that our pages are gone. Hmmm

I completely disagree with this. The real world - fiction is met because it's tied to what is in the book and the article is about the book and as for the boring one, that's your view, others may not think so. I have nominated Gail Carriger, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gail Carriger. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Guy (Help!) 18:44, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Hot europa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Jdrewitt (talk) 17:14, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Hot_europa. The article you added the redirect to has previously been deleted since the term is made up. Jdrewitt (talk) 17:20, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

RE: Phil Harvey

Why was the link to the Adam&Eve Hot Chat Initiative deleted? Thanks in advance for getting back to us.

Firstly, we do not need to link to every single venture in which Mr Harvey is involved. Secondly, there isn't even a site there. It's just a domain squatter. DS (talk) 14:24, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Your point in regards to listing all of Mr. Harvey ventures makes perfect sense and is acceptable, your comments in regards to domain squatting relating to the A&E Hot Chat venture are completely untoward and without merit. May we suggest more research prior to such an inflammatory comment.

Okay. But I clicked on the link and there's no site there. Maybe there will be a site in the future, but right now it looks like... nothing. Even if it were appropriate to link the site, it wouldn't be appropriate to link it before it exists! DS (talk) 14:54, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Completely agree with your comments. Not sure why that happened? Here's the link for your own information, maybe we made a typo. This is just for clarification, please feel free to delete after you have seen the site, which does indeed exist. Adam&Eve Hot Chat

There was indeed a typo - no 'and'. Which means that it's most likely someone typosquatting. Anyway, glad we've got that sorted out. DS (talk) 15:17, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Imagine my delight when I spent over two hours redacting this article to see it was deleted in the meantime. First of all, I had no warning that it was going to be deleted as there was no AfD or speedy template. So I had no way of knowing that my article was going to be shot out from under me. In any case, the deletion was incorrect, in my opinion. The original article was almost certainly substantially different from the current version, as most of the cites in the current version postdate the date of deletion of the original article. The situation has changed and a new AfD is required. Herostratus (talk) 17:21, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. Well, its difficult to compare the versions now since they are so different, after I slaved over it. I do agree that it's entirely possible that the article should be deleted, but in its previous incarnation it was such a mess that it wasn't even possible to discuss the question rationally. (Man, that's bad when you have an article that is so bad it can't even be deleted.) At least now one can read the article and decide whether its notable or not. Which it might be: there is now a Toronto Star reference, and an Alan Colmes TV interview, and a TV interview with some Canadian talking head. I don't care at all for articles like this -- I'm inclined to include it in Category:Internet begging, but that would be too cruel -- but it deserves a new AfD. I'm thinking about whether to nominate it or not. I think that the dogs would bark at the Star and Colmes and the CBC and the article would be kept, so maybe that would be a waste of time. Herostratus (talk) 17:55, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

I'm a wee bit confused -- you delete Choir Boy and the Lazy Cross Dresser (two of her best known, best selling works) as you claim individual works are not to be in the lede -- yet leave Shes Such a Geek in that same lede. Your reasoning seems at best inconsistent. Assuming good faith, I'll accept your claim re indivdual works not being in the lede and delete Shes Such a Geek. Why did you delete my page?

Hello -- I recently logged on and noticed that you redirected my new page, Tat-Friendly, to the Tattoo article, and said that my article was not in fact an article. Why is that? What must I add to my article to make it a true article by Wikipedia standards? The tat-friendly issue is a tremendous one that is not only a hot topic in pop culture but also an area of psychological research, specifically regarding the stereotypes about those with tattoos and how that translates to prejudice in places such as the workplace. It is a large issue deserving of its own topic. Just as, for example, there is a page for "Abortion Debate" that is separate from "Abortion", there needs to be a page for "Tat-friendly" that is separate from "Tattoos". Please reconsider your CSD deletion of this article, Fabrican as "not yet notable".  Chzz  ►  23:11, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Author Greg Wright 'This Gilded Age'

If I ask you what it was that you personally found 'not notable' about "This Gilded Age," I am then in the unique conundrum of asking you to substantiate a negative, which is basically impossible, and since the burden of proof is on, I guess, me (in other words, I imagine you'll take your mighty red pen and slash the page again or perhaps eat my first born child or whatever) I find that to be a rather pointless argument.

Then again, I'm left with little choice but to ask that very thing.

On the one hand, I know nothing about you, so I'm left with little to suppose. On the other hand, well, here we are.

The book's on Google, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc, and has done reasonably well in sales despite having no marketing.

As for "What IS notable." On Wikipedia, there is an entire page dedicated to the word "Sandpit," with such gems as:

-Sandpits encourage the imaginations and creativity of children.

-They also sometimes have lids, to cover the sand when children aren't using it, thereby preventing passing cats from using the play area as a litterbox.

-The sand gets dirty over time and is eventually replaced.

I have, respectfully, no doubt that if that page were left to your careful scrutiny, the sandpit story would be very different (more notable, perhaps?), but my question is, if someone has to wikipedia search "what is a sandbox, aka sandpit?" then I find it highly unlikely that they would possess the necessary literary faculties needed to negotiate the internet.

Maybe that's a bit presumptuous of me.

Regardless, apparently that page is "notable."

So my question is basically this, at what point does a form of "pop culture" in any capacity become "notable?"

Is it notable that the book in question is currently being translated into Russian for publication there, or that it's a widely published book available and (for the record) read variously throughout the country?

I'm not saying it's backhanding "Gone with the Wind" or the King James Bible in terms of book sales, but I will bet you that it's more notable than the next sparkly vampire teenage romanti-porn daytime blockbuster soap drama.

And on that note, I'll kindly await your response. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GregxWright (talkcontribs) 05:18, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Skipper Chuck Zink -- Trying my best to have this history saved

Hello DS. You put a message on my page in August 2010. I hope I am putting these in the right place. Regarding verifications about Skipper Chuck Zink, Miami personality from 1956-2006 -- perhaps the duplicate entries for him could be combined. There appears to be quite a bit of information on Wikipedia if you read about CHUCK ZINK and then again at the SKIPPER CHUCK page.

I have two Photobucket pictures taken in January 1957 in my account which can be used for any purposes. There were three cast members of the show:

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/Radio_Lady/Popeye_Playhouse50scast.jpg Original cast: "Skipper" Chuck Zink, "First Mate" Ellen Kimball, "Glumbo Despair" the clown Richard McMurry

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/Radio_Lady/skipperchuckzink5.jpg Original publicity photo:"Skipper" Chuck Zink, "First Mate" Ellen Kimball, "Glumbo Despair" the clown, Richard McMurry

A FACEBOOK page is now in evidence in which quite a few people posted their own memories and photos:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=48890696131

This Facebook page contains links to still photos from Mr. Zink's career, as well as a link to a YouTube production which may be the last existing film link. I think I mentioned it once before, but it's here. I am actually in this video at about 11 minutes:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_vUvHA8EMI

I hope this is satisfactory. Thanks for your help. I don't know any way to get production information from the Jackie Gleason Show. Frankly, most of us "original broadcasters" are gone now and kinescopes of our show do not exist. Hope you understand. Ellen Kimball (talk) 04:31, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Among friends, students and neighbors, Ailson Henrique Brites is best known "Jucão". On his driver's licence, social security card, passport, yellow pages, championship result pages (provided in the article), etc., he is referred to as Ailson Brites and less frequently as Ailson H. Brites. Please revert the page name back to Ailson “Jucão” Brites. Thanks. Fayerman (talk) 22:37, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Deleting User:Kyle andrew/Enter your new article name here

Listen, I was creating a User page so it would not be deleted, it was not finished nor was it published live. You have no right to delete this because Wikipedia gave you an ounce of authority. I had been working on that page for 2-3 hours as a rough outline, and was going to revise it. Now I have nothing to go off of to fix what I had. If you want to flex some "authority" you have maybe you should wait until its an actual article. I am not trying to be rude, but that was uncalled for, idiotic, unprofessional, and apparently it is possible to delete articles on the premise of "silliness". I pray that you created a duplicate before you decided to delete this page so you can re-post it, because as I have reiterated many times. YOU HAD NO RIGHT (even by your "status" of "administrator"). Please enlighten me on your logic behind this so I can create another page to your specifications so it does not get deleted . Kyle andrew (talk) 14:59, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Please!

Hello, I had created my user page so on my youtube account people could keep track of my show. I do not know why you deleted it but I want a very good reason. If that was not supposed to be there, can you give the data/text written back to me? I worked very hard and was actually proud of my work, and to see it taken away from me is disheartening. So please give me back the use of it!

Hmm... Thank you but is there any way that I could have my information up without violating that rule? —Preceding unsigned comment added by VASkorupi1997 (talkcontribs) 00:27, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

My user page

First of all, it would have been nice of you to notify me of the deletion. More importantly, using elements to aid oneself in creating a new image is not necessarily copyright vio. In this particular case, the elements used in the overall result are fairly altered; also, the percentage of what is used as opposed to what is in the originals is pretty low. Therefore, the collage is an original composition, with a nod to a few recognizable works. Hearfourmewesique (talk) 03:58, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

What I was referring to

Yes, you are certainly entitled to an answer from me about that! It's not recent, and I've wavered since the time it occurred whether I should bring it up at all, but it seems to me to indirectly connect to the AN discussion that just took place. It goes back to the Crucifixion/Anime mess that I'm sure you'll remember from last winter. You made these two comments (indirectly about me) on another user's talk page: [2] and [3]. I couldn't help but notice the exchange at the time, and while I recognize and appreciate that you were actually telling this person to do the right thing, I'm troubled by the way you chose to say it. Up to a point, I can understand speaking to that person in their own style of communication, in order to gain their trust, but on the other hand, I definitely do not think that an administrator, no less, should be communicating in that way. It's a question of judgment. --Tryptofish (talk) 19:09, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey, ITN is always in need of more willing admins, so your help is appreciated. It would be appreciated even more if you could tie up a few of the loose ends after you post an item, like noting it on WP:ITN/C and resetting the timer (which can only be done by admins). There's nothing too complicated and the gory details are here if you find yourself helping out around ITN again. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:18, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

User pages

I have noticed that you tend to "touchup" user page drafts at your discretion, and I honestly don't know what to make of it other than vandalism, admin or not. Please stop; let users shape their pages as they see fit and only if, or when, those drafts have become articles, you may remove material you deem to be unfit or non-encyclopedic. Deletion of EasyBugs

I noticed you deleted EasyBugs-page I created earlier. Could you provide a little more feedback on the reasons? On the page there was just message of notability. There are lots of similar pages of similar systems that are referenced from Comparison of issue-tracking systems-page. I really don't see how the deleted EasyBugs-page is different from these other pages. I don't believe the page was trying to advertise a product, just to provide information about it as do other similar pages used on the comparison list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jahtikar (talkcontribs) 12:15, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you

Dmargolius (talk) 10:40, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi there. If I may answer for DragonflySixtyseven, I believe the larger issue with the article was that it was not referenced to Secondary sources, that is, references that appear in reliable third-party publications. Primary sources or sources affiliated with the subject are generally not sufficient for a Wikipedia article and make it seem like the article's only purpose is more exposure for the company, ie. an advertisement. Also, try not to use peacock terms such as 'unique'. It is possible to salvage the page by asking an admin to undelete it into your userspace, but I see you already started another version of the page at User:Dmargolius/ActivePath. So far it looks a lot like the the original deleted page, but the finance.yahoo.com cite is an improvement. I would recommend working on it some more in your userspace and adding as many secondary sources as you can, but before you move it into mainspace as an article be sure to ask for feedback first at WP:FEEDBACK. The volunteers there will tell you if it's good or what needs work. Hope this helps, œ 01:45, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Question

How did you notice me and my userpage? We never have conservation before, and also no page that has the link to my userpage. At least, you have to inform me before you delete the page. I mean you likely only care about deleting the page, but you never care about how important those contents are to me. Those contents are very valuable to me. Please restore that page for at least 24 hours, so I can transfer the contents to my computer. You never learn (talk) 19:01, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Then again, give a reason why you don't want to restore it? I don't want to ask other administrators because I don't want to make this between many people. I just want this between you and me. If more people join in, it will not end quickly. You never learn (talk) 20:12, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

I dont get why you deleted my page from my User Space.

According to Wikipedia:UP, I am allowed to keep drafts on my user space. Snipped from Wikipedia:UP:

Work in progress or material that you may come back to in future
(usually on subpages)
  • Drafts, especially where you want discussion or other users' opinions first, for example due to conflict of interest or major proposed changes
  • Drafts being written in your own user space because the target page itself is protected, and notes and working material for articles (Note some matters may not be kept indefinitely).

CoolEarth Solar Wikipedia Page Deleted

Hi DradonflySixtyseven, I noticed that you deleted the page "CoolEarth Solar" and made the comment that it was a press release. I am trying to understand why you felt that the page was a press release and further more why you deleted the page. The page is not any different than other solar companies Wikipedia pages I have found, such as Skyline Solar ([1]), which have not been removed. Any feedback you could offer would be much appreciated! As I am new to Wikipedia, I am attempting to understand how this process works and make sure that I fix the errors so that the page can go live and not be removed. Thank you, JBeaseck (talk) 18:21, 22 October 2010 (UTC)JBeaseck

While I won't shed many tears over the loss of this article, I'm wondering what speedy deletion criteria you feel this fell under. PC78 (talk) 09:24, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

CSD is compulsory insofar as you can't invent your own criteria. I'm not convinced that the remnants of that article were eligible, but I won't push it. You may know what all the numerical codes mean, but it's useful to let others know why you're deleting an article in your edit summary, then people don't have to come asking at your talk page. "Not an article" isn't terribly helpful. PC78 (talk) 10:46, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Harsh Vardhan Jain et al

Hi Dragonfly! Following your deletion of Harsh Vardhan Jain and the other Jain article, please can I ask that you salt them and variations like HV Jain? I wasted a lot of time reviewing, cropping, checking sources and the like, and to see that the article was a re-creation by a sock is really disappointing. I would like to avoid this waste of time for others. I would obviously be happy to see an article created if notability is ever found. Bigger digger (talk) 15:00, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of fantasy novels until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Yoenit (talk) 08:41, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

How so, precisely, Dragonfly? - Jack Sebastian (talk) 16:04, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Excessive snarkiness, condescension towards new editors, passive-aggressive statements... if you have a problem with someone, report them. You're getting very close to the line of being a problem yourself.
Remember: Wikipedia is a collaborative encyclopedia. Everyone has to bear both those aspects in mind: not just 'encyclopedia', but also 'collaborative'. DS (talk) 16:14, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
I get that, and have said as much myself, DS. I can't address the pasive aggressive claim; it might be right, but as there doesn't appear to be any really good examples of this, it might be wrong, as well. As for "snarkyness", I've already apologized for that. If someone comes to my page to try and rub my nose in it, I'm (like anyone else) is going to react a little bit less than charitably - I presume you are referring to my talk page discussion with three other editors who themselves were largely unpleasant towards myself during the article discussion. And I don't condescend to new editors, unless they demonstrate a faulty understanding of our policies, and follow it up with a refusal to be corrected. New editors have the same rights as veterans; they don;t always have the same knowledge sets or wiki-wisdom. Maybe it's a WP:SPADE argument to note that, but frankly when I run into a team of constributors who interpret policy differently than the entirety of the rest of the community, the need to AGF takes a back seat to not overlooking policy ignorance.
As an aside, I have watchlisted your page for the purposes of this discussion; I'd prefer to keep it here, if you don't mind. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 16:24, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Lol - I was waiting for a reply, and I just realized I didn't ask anything. How would you suggest I could have handled the situation better, DS? - Jack Sebastian (talk) 13:36, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

Lol. Fair enough. The word is obviously latin in origin so it doesn't surprise me that it is used in Quebec. It just struck me that the general tone of the sentences in which it was used in various articles (that I looked at) seemed to hint at the editing of a Dutch or German speaker, but then I am probably completely wrong in my assumptions because of my own background in the Netherlands. b.t.w. Thanks for setting the autopatrolled bit for TonyBot. It is my own bot and it is trustworthy. However I set it up specifically to edit only in userspace and user talk space. I do not appreciate you deleting my userbox, as there are a lot of innapropriate things on Wikipedia and the Userbox was KEPT BECAUSE IT IS CONSIDERED HUMOROUS. If you would kindly un-delete it, because I do not feel like re-making it, but if you don't un-delete it, I will be forced to. I'm also pretty sure that masturbation is a practice most people in our society engage in, albeit a private one. Nonetheless, there are some people that aren't afraid to say they masturbate, and I'm one of them. Lastly, Wikipedia is NOT censored. Thank you. For what reason did you remove the email and talk page access from TFM? That change makes it difficult to communicate with TFM, and since it was not discussed, I think you should restore them. Gimmetoo (talk) 20:51, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, DragonflySixtyseven. You have new messages at A Macedonian's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Invitation

I saw your kind note at User talk:MeganHet. You might like to help at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback. It's mostly brand-new editors with very basic questions. It doesn't take very long to review an article, and since the editors at FEED are stretched kind of thin right now, having another person review even one article a day would make a big difference right now. Circa ATA-webcomic article

Hello! You recently deleted without warning the article of Circa_ATA_webcomic, with the notice of 'notability not asserted'. I did read the article on Notability. I would much appriciate a more in-depth explanation as to what constitutes as assertative notability in this case, if possible. Would help me avoid squandering my time on an article that's marked for death, as it were. 'Ta.

Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles) protection

I've blocked the offending users in this dispute. You might want to consider unprotection, so long as admins can keep their hands off them and not unblock them on a whim. Homo erectus pekinensis 2

You might recall a long term POV pusher (see #Homo erectus pekinensis above) who has used several different IPs to promote a "separate evolutionary origin of the Chinese" theory at various articles. For example, at Talk:Human evolution/Archive 3, search for "Pekinensis".

The user has surfaced again (see Special:Contributions/98.122.69.172), and has posted their normal material at Talk:Race and intelligence three times in the last three hours. I removed it once, another user removed it once, but a third user has moved the material from the top where the IP likes to put it to the bottom of the talk page. If you have a chance, please consider whether you think removing the material would be warranted. Johnuniq (talk) 10:46, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

My accidental eradication of Bonamia ostreae

I didn't really write my new article Aleurocanthus woglumi on top of the article Bonamia ostreae. I wrote it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cwmhiraeth/Bonamia_ostreae .

The same thing happened when I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Cwmhiraeth/Cefn_Golau as a work-space for preparing a new article. Both Cefn_Golau and Bonamia_ostreae were prepared with the new article wizard. I no longer use this but write articles direct in user space set up for the purpose. WHY DID YOU DELETE?

As you may see, I did not make my "Creations" public. you have to go under my name to get it pretty much and it stated that this may not be real stuff at the top of the page as per wikipedia's notions. I made this because I have a passion for making fan stuff and if you will look under User:Honey Bee Real/Sierra Palmer, you will see that I got the idea from this person, the ENTIRE this is fanfiction and is stated as "could be not real" from the top of the page. I guess I would like my stuff emailed back to me ASAP. THIS IS A FREE SITE AND CLEARLY STATES THAT IT "MAY NOT BE REAL" BUT IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO DELETE IT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdealornodeal (talkcontribs) 17:08, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

The article HMY Britannia I (Royal Cutter Yacht) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not used

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nuttyrave (talk) 01:26, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

You have deleted PostureAdjuster page

Hi. you have deleted PostureAdjuster page. I got the following message. Speedy deletion nomination of PostureAdjuster

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on PostureAdjuster requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Unfortunately I didn´t receive any messages before. Then I would have put hang on. I would like to restore the article by stating its significance in ergonomic and decision support system. Except commercial use, it is the first decision support system in the world for ergonomics field.

Anyway I would like your help to restore the page and so I can follow up with conforming the wiki laws to fullfill things the article required.

Hope to hear from you soon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jalilsakib (talkcontribs) 15:00, 31 December 2010 (UTC) Thanks for your reply. I didn´t expect disturbing mockery of tone from a wiki administrator. You seem to be making fun by saying its a new computer thing I did with my professor etc which is not nice. Your comments about Microsoft purchasing it? Not nice. Anyway I respect your other comments though.

Lets try to be objective. I am not going to create it anymore following your suggestion. The thailand ergonomic society will do it, so I assure you about conflict of interest issue that you mentioned.

Yes the thai government is using it so we would like to know what kind of notability should be mentioned. 90% of the documents and publications that use it are in thai so we don´t know if we should put that as reference or not. And where we can find the old version of the deleted article.

Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jalilsakib (talkcontribs) 15:59, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

No longer an EDiot.

I don't write for them anymore, and contrary to what you may believe, I have been making sincere efforts here. I know the rules, mostly. At least I know those that were in effect four years ago. I've made full disclosures not to become a target of people who hate ED, but rather to remind myself and let others know that there are certain things that raise my blood pressure that I should avoid. The remark about harlequin babies, while tasteless, was my coping mechanism for dealing with something I consider a monstrosity in the old sense of the word, cf. Lat. "monstrum". As for the legal considerations comment, I thought any reasonable person would read that as a request for a section on the medico-legal aspects of denying nutrition and choosing only palliative care for harlequins so that they may die peacefully. I may continue my work on this, using medical, legal, and ethical sources. That is, if you don't object.

I don't want to engage in heated discussion. I'm likely to give up and back off on almost any issue. I don't get along well with Wikipedian personalities, and I know that, so I try to make good faith constructive edits, and if they are reverted, well, that's not my fault, that is the responsibility of the one who reverted me. Most important, I don't make ad hominem attacks. I know that ad hominem attacks are probably the #1 cause of established users getting banned. As you've no doubt noticed, I'm not going to upload any photos to Wikimedia Commons. I think links are the way to go. As the rules stand, 95% of the time, the only way to get a photo uploaded is to take it yourself, or find a photo with one of three licenses attached. It raises my blood pressure and upsets me to get boilerplate messages about how I "done goofed." A short, personally written message is less likely to upset me. Regardless of whether I'm upset, I won't react negatively.

When I edited ED, I wrote mostly biographies and articles about the ancient www. I did not write tripe such as "Chris-Chan is teh funnieh!!!!!!1" Well, I'm getting to the point where this is tl;dr, and really doubt you care anyway. PBF1974 (talk) 15:58, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Primes of the form 10n+1. The only known case is 101.

Well, it is a matter of definition. In order to get 2, you must allow 0 as exponent, which is not a positive integer. If you allow only positive integers as exponent, then yes, you are right with 11 being a prime number of this form anyway. I must have overlooked that somehow. Maybe I considered only numbers "having at least one zero" between the two 1s when I wrote that draft. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 06:48, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

RE: Deletion of Shayne M. Cabino article

The bridge that is named after Shayne is no small piece of highway overpass. It's a heavily traveled thoroughfare and is clearly marked with signs that read "Lance Corporal Shayne Cabino Bridge." Many people pass over the bridge daily which is located near a busy train station with access to Boston. Some of these people may read the sign and want to know something about the name on the sign. The picture of the sign from the article does not do the bridge justice. Furthermore, Wikipedia guidelines for notability read: "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for one several times." and "The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field." As noted in the article, Shayne was the recipient of various awards and honors including the Purple Heart.

Upon creating the article, I had no intentions of making a memorial. Material could be added about the bridge, its elaborate dedication ceremony, the massive undertaking to build it, and how it created easier access to the MBTA station. Pleas advise if anything can be done to restore the article. Thanks. Dvsbmx (talk) 07:02, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Right, but Wikipedia's purpose isn't to report breaking news. Because many details remain unknown, we don't yet have a reasonably stable encyclopedia article. —David Levy 20:36, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi there, you "speedy"-deleted Talk:Burma/Myanmar/al, with a simple comment "test page". It's not a test page, it's a template which is transcluded on Talk:Burma/Myanmar for easy linking to sections in archives. Agile-Team (software) article deletion

Dear DragonflySixtyseven,

I will be grateful if you let me know why the article Agile-Team (software) has been deleted.

Agile-Team is one of a big serious of project management tools described in the Comparison of project management software. I created this article after I found out that this tool was missed in this comparison table.

I tried to follow Wikipedia rules and recommendations while writing the article. I created the article in my user space with the Article wizard and tried to write it from a neutral point of view. I had no intention to make it promotional. The deleted article included a link to competitors. Note that the article included description of features that are compared in the Comparison of project management software table.

A number of people looks for comparison of project management tools, and it is nice that Wikipedia gives them such possibility. However, it is important that they receive full information without exclusion of such tools as Agile-Team.

I realize that being an experienced editor, you want Wikipedia, to be a really important source of information.

Maybe, I missed something important in the article that caused deletion.

I would be very grateful to you if you help me to improve and restore the article.

Deletion of my article on Anti-ageing Exotic Blends

Hi, I had created an article on a well known book like thousands already on wikipedia. If there was any "notability to be asserted" that was missing, it would have been better to guide me to correct it rather to blatantly misuse your authority to delete an article. It seems more and more people like you become admins by deleting articles which people from around the globe spend hours researching and creating. I have encountered several helpful admins who help in keeping Wiki neutral and up to date with information that can be from other parts of the world and not one man's view of how an article was created. wiki is all about being polite and helpful but it looks from all the comments on your talk page that you are neither of the two. Your contracted vision and inability to perceive good information is matched by your arrogance. Now go ahead and block me, but it won't stop people from writing the truth. wiki is not yours and not for people like you who get their kicks by undoing other people's hard work. Understand? Thank you for your ear and your time A humbled and compliantQui Tam Relator (talk) 17:15, 26 January 2011 (UTC) Hello DS, Gosh I could kick myself in my A.. for having this happen regarding the Whistleblower list deletion I had no idea that this would happen to this very valuable piece of list of major whistleblowers history and to the False Claims Act Community. I really tried to write a good summay and am very angry at myself for getting somewhat overly self promotional subject matter. I would do anything to be able to edit this pieced again to please Wikepedia and all the world wide viewers that use this site for a good reliable resource of information. I feel like I've let the Wikipedia community down and may have mislead many people astray by trying to tell an accurate account of 1988. Roland Gibeaults whistleblower case. I don't know what will come of my efforts to post this information and will do anything you and all Editors and Administrators ask of me and value all of your opinions. DS I just want you to know and all involved that everything I posted was true and accurate but I have so much good reference material it's hard to pick and choose which and what to use. Hey there! You know the best way of posting your information would be to user your userspace to formulate a draft and then submit it to the Articles for Creation people. They will be able to review your work and let you know what you need to work on in order for it to be included in our project. This can include help with sources, although if your list could constitute as libellous towards living people, you will need to ensure that sources are inserted as quickly as possible to ensure your article is not deleted. For more information, why not check out our biographies of living people policy?
If you need help with anything, especially in the draft phase, be sure to ask. Although we encourage users to be bold, it's better to be safe than sorry! Hope this has been helpful! All Hail The Muffin Nor does it taste nice... 20:39, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

If you read my post to Vquaker you will understand what I'm doing here and yes I can't write a sensable story from this my prespective even though this was "The Most Serious Frauds in the 1980's" CBS 60 minutes interview with Inge Maudal and Roland Gibeault 1989. This was one of the most complex crimes of that time period because of the HARM Missile and "The Libya Bombing Raid". I have over 40 Zerox Boxes of this case court case and Major news footage from the 1980's and the 1990's and 2000 documents. This is something I've followed over the years because of my involvement in it. What was your academic or business reason to delete Data Access Engine (DAE) arcticle? Mahyar.esteki (talk) 13:47, 19 January 2011 (MYT)

Arthur C. Clarke citation

Hello DragonflySixtyseven, You recently removed the Arthur C. Clarke quotation in the Reviews section of the article Word Lens. I reversed the change, as Clarke was quoted in the reviewing articles (you can check those 2 references) and did not have opinion of Word Lens directly. If this is not clear, please consider rewarding the comment, not deleting it. ~Zina~ (talk) 06:21, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi again DragonflySixtyseven, Thanks for rewarding the sentence - yes, it's better now. I'm sorry I reversed your change the first time. ~Zina~ (talk) 03:42, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

My Main Page

Hi DeagonflySixtyseven

I am writing in, as i have noticed that my page was deleted, as my posts are in my Sandbox, i was wondering why is it deleted. Please advice. Thanks. Evan Weinstein | Talk 10:25, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Fecal Body Odour Syndrome

Hi. Could you please tell me why you deleted this article? Your reason that it is unverifiable isn't valid in my opinion, as there are numerous websites that describe this condition and I also suffer from it. The word 'syndrome' is also defined as 'Syndrome: a collection of signs and symptoms known to frequently appear together but without a known cause.' Therefore, it cannot be 'verified' as there is no known cause. Please Google this condition and you will understand that it is a very real and debilitating condition that ruins people's lives. We are trying to to get this syndrome more well known, as there is currently an extreme lack of literature that describes it. Please could you restore the article? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vialli25 (talkcontribs) 19:59, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

RE: Subtraction without Borrowing

Hi DS,

Thanks for your response to my request on my talk page, to find out how I can make available my on going research on my New Method of Subtraction, which is leading me into researching on the generic source of an integer. This will take sometime and Iam already working on this.

As far as your concern for the Origin of my method of subtraction by the Addiotion Method is concerned, I certify that this is an absolutely an ORIGINAL THEORY of mine, which I had discovered more than 3 years back. The 'Eureka' moment happened on the night of 22nd December, 2010, when it suddenly struck me how to use the(-1) in the Minuend & (+1)in the Subtrahend, as what I had discovered earlier was slightly a lengthy version of the same. This got me excited, and I posted the same on Wikipedia from my IP No. 122.162.135.24 (this is the same IP No. from where I created my Wikipedia account, which can be verified by you easily, as I received a mail from Wikipedia, for my e-mail confirmation on the 23rd Dec, 2010) and simultaneously on my 'Facebook' account (which is in my name- 'Gaurav Misra') on the 23rd December, 2010 and called in my friends who were with me in school to comment & verify the same. I did a lot of problems of all kinds using all kinds of numbers, before posting it on both the portals. I had been trying to research online for sometime to see if something like what I had posted was ever done before by anyone. But to my amazement I did not find any method which was even remotely close to my way of subtraction by the Addition Method. I assure you that my research & method of subtraction is truly ORIGINAL, and I have my friends and family to support the same, as they were always aware of it ever since I started working on this project. I will go through your articles on "Original Research" as advised by you, and in case there is anything I need to know, i'll get back to you on this.

You and everyone at Wikipedia may be well assured that this is an absolutely ORIGINAL method devised by me, devoid of any help of any kind from anyone. This I can say to the best of my knowledge. I'd appreciate if the same is acknowledgedby Wikipedia too someday. Thanks.

Hi DS,

In continuation to my post above, I wish to explain that I have NOW read your Articles on 'Original Research', and I find that Wikipedia does not post anything on Original Discoveries, till they are backed up or supported from some authentic source or subjects. Honestly I wasn't aware about this, as this being my very first post of any kind on WP, however as you can see that everything I did was impromptu to the effect of my excitement over my discovery. I wish to re-iterate here that my discovery is a Mathematical discovery, and any Mathematician or an Institute can agree to what I have to say. Even then if you please, I wish to apply my post under the 'Notability' clause of your policy, whereby you allow exceptions when some original research submitted is genuine & of encyclopedic value for everyone to gain from. What I have discovered has substantial evidence in itself to prove it is genuine, as it's a simple Pure Mathematical Solution to a mathematical problem, with a different Algorithm to subtract a Subtrahend from a Minuend by the Addition Method. However, even then if you think otherwise, please advise me some websites or another way where the same can be authenticated. Many Thanks !!!
