Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Harumi Fujita, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. --DAJF (talk) 03:37, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

Why are you removing external links like you did here?--Yankees10 23:42, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the time, the old team profiles are non-existent, should have double checked to see if that was the case here. --Dissident93 23:46, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Fair enough. Just make sure you double check because some teams don't get rid of the bios.--Yankees10 23:49, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

EAD Tokyo Restructure[edit]

Hey I just wanted to mention. That you definitely erroneously mixed up the EAD Tokyo Groups. I'm not sure why you switched the games up, as they were listed in the right departments. I imagine that you are wondering why the Mario games are split between the groups.

Group 1 is Takao Shimizu, he was the manager of the original team. Group 2 came AFTER Super Mario Galaxy 1, were the Mario portion split away from Group 1 and started their own group with Koizumi being named Manager/Producer of Group 2.

Sooo

Group 1 Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Super Mario Galaxy, (then Mario team left to start group 2), Nintendo DS Guide Series, Zelda Grezzo co-developments

Group 2 All the 3D Mario games since Galaxy 2. New Play Control Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Flipnote Studio series, and NES Remix series. That's all Group 2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NOAWiki (talkcontribs) 22:30, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well if the previous way was the correct one, then I'll revert it. Is there an official list somewhere that says which exact group developed the game? The Nintendo website just says Nintendo was the developer for most of the games. ~ Dissident93 23:16, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Toru Minegishi writing music for WaraWara Plaza[edit]

Hey, Guitarist500 here. I was just wondering where you found information on Minegishi's contribution to WaraWara Plaza. So basically, he wrote the music to the Wii U menu screen? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SimpsonsMan1234 (talkcontribs) 10:17, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, and all the sound effects, apparently. I got the info from here (http://kyoto-report.wikidot.com/warawara-plaza). the pages lists Iwata Asks: Miiverse, CIPO Copyright Database, and the Patent Docs Database as sources (with links). Dissident93 11:52, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Help with article on Eric Winston?[edit]

Hi Dissident93, I'm reaching out to you as I see you've previously made some improvements to the article about Eric Winston. I'm currently working on behalf of the NFLPA to make some additional improvements to articles related to their mission on Wikipedia, and recently posted some suggested expansions to Eric Winston's article on the Talk page there. Because I'm working on behalf of the NFLPA and have a financial COI, I don't make any direct edits to articles myself. Instead, I'm hoping you might be able to take a look at my suggestions and, if everything looks okay, move the changes over into the article. If you have time, do you think you could take a look? Also happy to answer any questions you might have! Cheers, ChrisPond (Talk · COI) 18:57, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Kansas City Chiefs roster[edit]

Not sure why you removed Damond Smith, guessing it might have something to with him not appearing on the Chiefs website yet. You should probably know, that's not the most accurate way to track a team's roster, case-in-point, this situation and Steve Gregory's number being reported as 28 there despite it being retired. I've got multiple sources proving Damond Smith plays for the Chiefs: ([1] [2] just to name two). Just thought I'd give you a piece of advice.--Rockchalk717 01:07, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Rockchalk717: I'm aware that the rosters on the official site can have errors (however for the most part, they're accurate; unless they're new additions to the team like these two were). I was not aware however, that 28 had been retired by Kansas City; and I don't know why I removed Damond Smith. Seems like Gregory will wear #47 for the time being. (http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article854448.html) ~ Dissident93 (talk) 01:42, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Except for the fact that there also photos of him wearing 27 at practice. However the source you provided is older then the one I found. The one I found was posted to the Chiefs website today so he's probably changed his number.--Rockchalk717 04:13, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Rockchalk717: That picture is of him also wearing number 47, unless you sent the wrong link. The middle curved part of the #2 in the Chiefs font (as seen here: http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center/photo-gallery/Photos-Kansas-City-Chiefs-Roster/82fac735-1dbb-40f6-ac3f-258b1c243594#97dd5196-e836-4d7f-8717-e48acec73366) is different from the 4 Gregory is wearing. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:43, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see what your talking about now. I didn't pay much attention to the jersey itself when I saw it. Whoever made the slide must of made a mistake when they created the slideshow.--Rockchalk717 15:53, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Young Yangus[edit]

Are you sure Matsuo actually 'composed' new music? All new compositions were confirmed to be by Sugiyama so I came to the conclusion that Matsuo only created the arrangements. SimpsonsMan1234 (talk) 07:43, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@SimpsonsMan1234: I knew Matsuo worked on the project and did all the DQ8 arrangements (http://www.vgmonline.net/hayatomatsuointerview/ scroll down to see), so I just had assumed he wrote the original material as well. I didn't think Sugiyama directly contributed to the project until I saw that vgmdb link. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 07:51, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Nice :) I suppose that's sorted out then. Cheers. SimpsonsMan1234 (talk) 08:08, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@SimpsonsMan1234: No problem ;). Speaking of Sugiyama though, do you know if he arranged his old material for the recent 3DS remakes of Dragon Quest Monsters 1 and 2? I couldn't find a credits video on YouTube, but perhaps niconico would have one. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 08:17, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Dissident93. Thanks for changing my edit in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U regarding the reason for the delayed release dates. I realize that your edit is more accurate than mine was.

Waived/injured[edit]

Hey, thanks for the heads-up about the waived/injured rule. Guess I've never really 100% understood how that worked. NBAfan321 (talk) 18:52, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@NBAfan321: No problem. I didn't understand it either until I saw a bunch of the players simply revert to IR after going unclaimed after 24 hours. AFAIK, no players who have been waived/injured this year have been claimed by another team, so it's far easier to just assume they've been placed on IR. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 18:55, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

SomaFM - Sonic Universe stream[edit]

To Dissident93, thanks for keeping an eye on the SomaFM wiki page. I hope you are a contributing listener. I program the stream Sonic Universe. Back in 2007 when I put together the stream "Nu Jazz" was a hip term. Now, not so much. Many of the musicians I program do not like the term nu jazz. Also I had originally planned to program various types of avant garde music. My listeners have spoken and I have listened. The change to Modern jazz, Fringes of Jazz and Nordic jazz are all genres the reviewers and music journalists are using to describe the type of music I play hence the update to the Sonic Universe description on both Wikepedia and http://somafm.com/sonicuniverse/index.html. (Nityanadesan (talk) 19:04, 25 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]

@Nityanadesan: Fair enough. And yes, I am a contributing listener :) Since you are a member of the SomaFM team, you are more likely to see errors more than I would. So if you see any dates being incorrect or anything, feel free to edit them. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:09, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Dissident93: I am new to this correcting of wiki pages so thanks again for correcting the mistakes in my update. Also thanks a bunch for helping support SomaFM. Without listeners like you we could not stay on the air. Nityanadesan (talk) 19:40, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, remember, 3RR is a Bright Line. Unless it is vandalism (you aren't flagging it as such), please stop. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 00:37, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Jim1138: Understood. However, the user should not have originally made the edit, but I'll stop reverting them since they are in good faith (and the PUP lists for all teams won't exist by the end of the week anyway). ~ Dissident93 (talk) 00:48, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I made an edit earlier today and see only now in "Revision history" that you had shortly before made an edit to the same passage! Mine was in no way intended as a revert, and am really sorry about this. In fact, I think both our edits can safely be classified as copy-edits (i.e. simple grammar changes), not reverts, and will not fall foul of 1RR. List of PS4 games[edit]

Hello, I wanted to let you know I was putting your edit back in the article but you were too fast for me. It was collateral damage from the IP edits I was reverting where the user didn't understand that if its on PC it still counts as console exclusive. It was easier for me to put your information back in rather than redo all of the changes the IP did. Your original edit also named it as "Yes" exclusive but I see you left it as "Sony" this time, which is the appropriate version as it is on PS3/PS4. --WhereAmI (talk) 05:55, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@WhereAmI: Actually, I wasn't aware it was also being released for the PS3 until you reverted the edits. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:58, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fred Taylor & Doug Flutie[edit]

Dissident, I also rephrased the Doug Flutie lead to avoid the awkward "former American and Canadian football quarterback" construction. Regards, Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:56, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Dirtlawyer1: Loads of articles are phrased this way though, so I had assumed that was the correct way. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:43, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I know. It came about from linking "American football" in the lead, from which "former American football player" naturally flowed. The linked "American football" doesn't present a problem until the player retires, and then we have to sort the proper order of American and former. Of course, the irony is that only non-Americans refer to American football as American football. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 21:02, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tauren Poole[edit]

Poole played in a game with the Panthers so he doesn't get the *. Just wanted to let you know so you didn't make the same mistake in the future.--Yankees10 18:43, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Yankees10: Poole is currently on the Panthers practice squad, so I don't think this applies. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 18:46, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Once a player plays in a game that doesn't apply anymore. It says "Offseason and/or practice squad member only" which isn't the case anymore with Poole since played in a game.--Yankees10 18:49, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Yankees10: The current policy needs to be changed then, because there are many player articles that have this, even though they may have played in one or two games in a given season. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 18:53, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Then those articles need to be changed.--Yankees10 18:56, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Yankees10: I suppose, but in this day and age of PS players being constantly promoted for one week, released the next, and then placed back on the PS, I think the Wikipedia policy for how this is handled is outdated and should be updated somehow. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:14, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

LSD (video game)[edit]

Surrealism makes many connections with psychedelic effects and culture. For example, consider that "having surreal visions" is a common reported symptom of psychedelic drugs and LSD art is often called "surreal". Then, I would not delink one thing of another; the gameplay of LSD may be a reference to hallucinations and other effects of the drug, or may it not. There is also a map in the game which features stretched mushrooms; it is believed by some fans to be a reference to the fungus LSD is composed of among with other chemicals. Please, consider that there is the possibility of a connection between LSD gameplay and LSD effects. - - Alumnum (talk) 07:11, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hypertext for external links[edit]

FYI, I have tried for several years to get other sports editors to reduce the hypertext for external links to only the actual page name, but there is a goofy trend by which most seem to believe that more blue text in a link is better -- these are the same people that want to link authors and publications names in footnotes. It's hard to explain that less is more. Regards, Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 01:37, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Dirtlawyer1: Alright, thanks for the info. I hadn't seen that type of link anywhere else before, but maybe I hadn't been paying enough attention. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 01:41, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Or, I could be wrong and we really should try to link every word on a page that isn't a conjunction or an article adjective . . . . Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 01:44, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm a delegate for featured topic candidates, and I see that you appear to be the most active editor on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The article has currently passed its retention period for Wikipedia:Featured topics/Super Smash Bros. series, and so it needs to be nominated at WP:GAN soon, or else the topic is likely to get delisted. If you are up to it, I would recommend doing any further improves that need to be done to the article and then nominate it as soon as possible.-- 22:40, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Juhachi: While I've edited this article quite a few times, I don't believe I'm the best candidate for this. The majority of my edits for have been minor, such as grammar editing and the addition of the "music" sub-section. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 23:07, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging articles with speedy tags[edit]

Dissident93, you have to be more careful when you are tagging articles for deletion. You had tagged this article[3] for deletion, you should know that WP:SPEEDY tag cannot be used for these types of articles. You should read WP:SPEEDY again, and also read that where you should use the speedy tag. Recently this concern was raised by Smuckola at the UTP of the admin who had deleted this article without looking at the discussion at ATP. You can still bring the article to AfD if you would like to. Thanks. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 03:12, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@OccultZone: I actually used WP:PROD, but yeah I got a little hasty with adding the deletion tag. However, the article should still be removed unless it's merged with the main article. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 08:45, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2015 March newsletter[edit]

One of several of Godot13's quality submissions during round 1

That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. 64 competitors made it into this round, and are now broken into eight groups of eight. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups. Round 1 saw some interesting work on some very important articles, with the round leader Australia Freikorp (submissions) owing most of his 622 points scored to a Featured Article on the 2001 film Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within which qualified for a times-two multiplier. This is a higher score than in previous years, as Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions) had 500 points in 2014 at the end of round 1, and our very own judge, Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) led round 1 with 601 points in 2013.

In addition to Freikorp's work, some other important articles and pictures were improved during round one, here's a snapshot of a few of them:

You may also wish to know that The Core Contest is running through the month of March. Head there for further details - they even have actual prizes!

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Star Citizen: "CryEngine"[edit]

Thank you for your effort to be as accurate as possible in describing the engine used for Star Citizen. "CRYENGINE" is the official name for the current iteration, however, I think we still need a way to communicate the fact that it is indeed the latest generation of CryEngine that is used and not just the engine's name (i.e. "any of the versions of CryEngine") we are referring to. The CryEngine article itself needs a way to distinguish between the current generation and previous versions and I think that "CryEngine (4th generation)" is acceptable. You obviously disagree, but imho it would be better to discuss that upstream on talk page of the CryEngine article, not in Star Citizen's edit summaries. Mveyb (talk) 20:24, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Mveyb: I don't necessarily disagree, I just thought it might have been too much info for something that may have been technically inaccurate. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:26, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think the parentheses make it clear enough that it's not the official name and I don't think it's too much information. So naturally I would suggest changing it back to "CryEngine (4th generation)" as long as that's the way it's referred to in the CryEngine article. What do you think? Mveyb (talk) 20:37, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Mveyb: Fair enough, but I'll go ahead and add a small tag to it so it takes up slightly less room. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:38, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Mveyb (talk) 20:41, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

A gummi bear holding a sign that says "Thank you"
Thank you for using VisualEditor and sharing your ideas with the developers.

Hello, Dissident93,

The Editing team is asking for your help with VisualEditor. I am contacting you because you were one of the very first testers of VisualEditor, back in 2012 or early 2013. Please tell them what they need to change to make VisualEditor work better for you. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and try to fix these small things, too.

You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

More information (including a translateable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:12, 23 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dez Bryant[edit]

Bryant received the "non-exclusive" tag. He is allowed to talk with other teams and sign an offer with one, but the cost the other team would have to give up would be massive. Two first round picks, I believe. No one will offer him a deal other than Dallas, but it is still possible. Plus, we have always kept tagged players in the UFA area until they sign. I've been editing these templates for years and haven't to my recollection ever seen it done differently. RevanFan (talk) 04:19, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@RevanFan: Thanks for the explanation. Sort of off topic, but I think the standards regarding roster navboxes templates needs to be clarified more. Some of them list free agents, some of them don't. Others like the Falcons one is run by one guy who reverts any edits that does not fit his view, and has been doing so for months. I don't think these problems affect the regular roster templates. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:23, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I used to keep a close on on all of the templates and navboxes for rosters, but I simply don't have the time anymore to keep up with more than my team's template regularly. Also, we used to have a few others who also kept an eye on every template, but they are both no longer active. Real life things get in the way sometimes. I suppose you could write up some basic rules and put them in the talk pages for the navboxes, but other than that, I know not what to do. RevanFan (talk) 04:40, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@RevanFan: I can make some suggested standards on the Wikiproject talk page and see if the others agree. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:45, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

About the Sega Studios page[edit]

I noticed you are one the more major editors around Sega pages...

You probably are aware that I made some pretty bold changes, that I felt where needed, that I admidettly didn't make discussions about beforehand.

One of you were against with is my new Sega Studios page, replacing the old Sega development studios page (both [re]written by me). Why do you think my new page is poory written? if you were wondering, my research comes from this place: http://www13.atwiki.jp/game_staff/pages/13.html

I think 2 of these pages are redundant to keep around, so what would you suggest to me improve the page to make it more acceptable to be the single page for Sega's development studios?

@Tripple-ddd: I can tell the information is accurate, but the formatting is pretty terrible. (really large tables that don't appeal to the eye, and too many words are unnecessarily in bold) Also, you shouldn't be basically blanking notable Sega studios such as Sonic Team, who deserves their own article.
@Dissident93:I dont think the formatting is better on the other the page either, so I don't see that argument. How do you think the tables could be structured better?. And yeah, I agree that Sonic Team should have it's own page, given their logo is at least on a Sonic game every year.

Really tough, should we have 2 pages around instead of just one for Sega Studios...?

Years in lead[edit]

Hi Dissident93,

I'm not sure what the reason is behind whether or not mentioning the year of release right away, but I do think that for Bloodborne it should be something different. Right now it reads:

Bloodborne (ブラッドボーン Buraddobōn?) is a 2015 action role-playing video game directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, developed by From Software, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It was released worldwide in March 2015, to critical acclaim.

A 2015 game, released in 2015? Bit redundant, right? Maybe if the lead would be expanded, then it wouldn't be come off as repeating statements. --Soetermans. T / C 23:46, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It can be redundant, and maybe it only works for games not released in that year? For example:

Demon's Souls (デモンズソウル Demonzu Souru?) is a 2009 action role-playing video game developed by From Software, with production assistance from SCE Japan Studio, exclusively for the PlayStation 3. It was released in Japan on February 5, 2009 and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. In North America, the game was released on October 6, 2009 and published by Atlus; while Namco Bandai Games published the game in Australia and Europe on June 23 and June 25, 2010, respectively.

We need to have a consensus regarding it, that way we can all be in agreement, whichever way it goes. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 00:52, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bloodborne[edit]

No interview yet about the Lovecraft themes, only because in true Lovecraft fashion it is meant to take you by surprise. But the themes are not subtle, multiple characters, locations, and creatures directly based on Lovecraft. They are overt and obvious and are as big of a theme of the game as the Victorian setting; it's noticeable just by playing the game for a couple hours. Sources: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-04-10-how-bloodborne-honours-the-legacy-of-h-p-lovecraft http://www.twinfinite.net/2015/04/09/heres-how-bloodborne-captures-lovecraftian-horror-perfectly/ http://kotaku.com/https-www-youtube-com-watch-v-vomax-lkfiw-feature-you-1697067199 DoctorForHire (talk) 10:04, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@DoctorForHire: If it's not directly stated, then it would fall under subjectivity wouldn't it? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 10:09, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There is a difference between subjectively based on Lovecraft and having characters, creatures, and locations openly based on Eldritch horror. Witchcraft and Greek mythology is an overt and common theme in Dark Souls yet that is not needed to be sourced. It applies in this situation as well DoctorForHire (talk) 10:14, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
To add on, the game itself frequently refers to characters, creatures, items, and places as Eldritch Horror or Eldritch Truth which is enough to say this goes beyond subjectivity. DoctorForHire (talk) 10:36, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
To add on again, I was wrong we do have an interview stating Lovecraft was an inspiration for the game http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Bloodborne/Bloodborne-Exclusive-Interview-with-Jun-Yoshino/td-p/23062300 DoctorForHire (talk) 10:50, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removing categories[edit]

Why did you remove those categories from Kristjan Sokoli page and the WR category from Obum Gwacham?--Yankees10 07:49, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't aware Obum was a WR, and Sokoli is just listed as a guard for now (we should only add positions they've actually played in a game) ~ Dissident93 (talk) 08:24, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Brady[edit]

I added the source for his "Active" status because editors were constantly changing it to suspended, incorrectly as you pointed out, and even IP's think a second before changing sourced information, thus I put it there to try and head off the future changes. Cheers. Vyselink (talk) 15:01, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your changes to Template:Infobox animanga/Game. Remember that this infobox sub-component is always included with other infobox sub-components and we strive to keep the overall Template:Infobox animanga to be as compact as possible containing only the most essential of information. The fields you've added are not essential to be displayed in an anime- or manga-related article with a video game spin-off. —Farix (t | c) 22:23, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@TheFarix: Then can director, producer, and composer remain at least? The main anime infobox has these, so why not the game version? Three more values won't hurt. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 22:27, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"& nbsp ;"[edit]

Hey, what is the reason against allowing "& nbsp ;" in the NFL roster navbox? I used it on the Jaguars template because it prevented a line break occurring between the player number and the player name. It seemed useful to me and it looked better visually. Just curious. ~ Richmond96 TC 01:00, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Richmond96: I had thought it had served no real purpose, since the other team templates didn't seem to use it. I try to keep all the of the templates consistent with each other (big problem with some of them), but I'll revert this one. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 01:06, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

YM2608[edit]

Hi! My edit "FM Operator Type-N" was the explanation of the abbreviation "OPN". Do you think the names of the Yamaha chips are self-explanatory? -- Polluks 04:38, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Polluks: No, but to the casual reader, "FM Operator Type-N" isn't either. Having it just as OPNA is good enough, as it's the official code used by Yamaha. I don't think FM Operator Type-? was ever used by Yamaha, although I'm not certain. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 07:29, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You are not ignoring my responses?[edit]

I notice you have been editing, but haven't responded to these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sega, Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Video_games#For_a_3rd_time...Sega_article_proposal--Tripple-ddd (talk) 09:00, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Tripple-ddd: I'm aware of this, however you already know what I have to say, and it's getting tiresome stating the same things every time. I'll make a response eventually. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 18:18, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

NFL team colors in templates[edit]

As you may have noticed, I was busy updating each National Football League (NFL) team's colors in the roster templates, such as Template:Washington Redskins roster. What I don't know how to do is update the colors so it shows in the team templates (for example, I can't figure out how to update Template:Washington Redskins so the primary HTML color in the title box is #773141 and the secondary color in the border is #FFB612. Do you know how or do you know another editor who does? I'm seeking help in this area. Thanks. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 06:02, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Charlesaaronthompson: Nope, been trying to figure that out myself. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 06:19, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Japanese dates for English-first releases[edit]

re: [4], do you think I read the documentation incorrectly? – czar 19:12, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Czar: No, but the documentation needs to be changed if this is the case. I can see for a American or European developer, but for a Japanese made game, why should this apply? I'd argue that all the South Korean and Brazilian release dates shouldn't exist in the infobox for these type of cases. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:32, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Let's bring it up on the template page after the current discussion ends. If I forget, feel free to bring it there first – czar 19:51, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Czar: Perhaps it's time, now that the other discussion ended? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:45, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Strange, I didn't get your ping. Yep, I'll open it up now. – czar 07:14, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ultra Smash[edit]

Was removed when it was redirected to the series article. There hasn't been any coverage of the game apart from its announcement. That redirect was reverted. – czar 15:09, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Czar: Really? When I had added the link, the article already existed. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:17, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I started the article. When I saw it didn't get any E3 follow-up apart from the announcement. I merged it (as I think is logical). An IP reverted the edit. – czar 19:26, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oh, I see now. Guess it's fine if it gets reverted again, until more sources report on it. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:29, 28 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Template testing[edit]

I saw your comment at Template:Infobox NFL player about sandbox limitations. In case you weren't already aware, you can perform testing with Template:Infobox_NFL_player/testcases to see a before and after comparison, and make sure nothing got broken in the process. You can always add new test cases as needed. Also, you can use {{Infobox NFL player/sandbox}} on any page and test your changes using the sandbox version. Templates like these are used in thousands of pages, so it's best to avoid live testing. Thanks.—Bagumba (talk) 05:30, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I saw and used that, but I wanted to see a specific team that I wasn't able to change in the testcase, but turns out that didn't matter at all for what I was trying to do. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 05:38, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Which team? I can try to help if you want to figure out the issue for future reference.—Bagumba (talk) 07:29, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It was Washington, but then I realized that every team as a NFLPrimaryStyle template that would have shown me what I wanted in the sandbox, so the Miami Dolphins/Kansas City Chiefs one in the testcase would have worked fine. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 08:03, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Your other option in the future is to use the main namespace template, but use the "Preview page with this template" feature instead of (or before) saving your changes e.g. use it to preview Robert Griffin III.—Bagumba (talk) 08:16, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 08:17, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Border in the navboxes[edit]

Is there a reason for the 3px border? It looks fine with the 2px. The 2px border is also the most common to use in navboxes. The 3px just makes it look uglier, and it doesn't really need to be seen, as I think it is just a decor to make the navbox look better. Corkythehornetfan 21:13, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Corkythehornetfan: It's harder to see the contrast when it's 2px, but if that's standard, then it probably wouldn't pass consensus. I'll revert the others one I did until then. Would 2.5 work? It's not as blocky as 3, but more noticeable than 2. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:15, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
2.5 looks a lot better than 3px. There is not much difference between 2 and 2.5, but definitely doesn't look blocky like 3px. I could settle with 2.5px. Corkythehornetfan 21:24, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think it's the best compromise. I didn't realize that it doesn't scale up, so at 200% zoom level (what I use for Wikipedia) 2.5 actually scales up to 5 and looks better than 2, while it remains at 2 for it's native 100%. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:30, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rocket League[edit]

Hello, You removed my addition to Rocket League. What was the issue with it? Wouldn't people want to know the specs in addition to the other information listed?

Looking forward to your input Gamingwarrior1 (talk) 06:41, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
