December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Yesterday (song), but we cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. From ”Classical Archives” interview with John Corigliano December 22, 2009: (http://www.classicalarchives.com/feature/john_corigliano_exclusive_interview.html) J.C.: "'Yesterday', for example, is a seven–bar phrase that takes a three note motif that is actually the same motif as the G minor symphony of Mozart, and then proceeds to first transpose it in the first iteration, the second iterations it transposes and augments it. And in the third iteration, it transposes, augments and inverts it, and then comes back to the original." Thank you, Davideteiemusic (talk) 02:14, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's all very well, but Wikipedia requires sources such as this to be cited. No objection to you re-adding this content, properly sourced. That's all we need, per verification policy, since otherwise we have no way of knowing whether it's just made up. Please see WP:CITE for how to add references, or ask on my talk page. Cheers. March 2024[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to History of music. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Did you look at the referenced work? This theory was peer reviewed and published by the Oxford University Press. I authored the theory, does that exclude me from posting it? Davideteiemusic (talk) 17:39, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are adding your own work to articles which violates WP:COI. Please read the guidelines on editing with a conflict of interest. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 18:26, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
