Request to Move Pages[edit]

Hi Girik! Sorry to bother you again. I realise that I can move pages myself etc. but I have created 3 pages and 3 corresponding redirects to them (the redirects are simply acronyms). But I came to realise that in cryptography these concepts are exclusively known by their acronyms and I cannot move the original pages onto the redirects. So could you please move the following pages?

That would be great thanks :)RobertHannah89 (talk) 11:44, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Few Questions[edit]

Hey Girik. I was just wondering a few things:

  • Firstly, you know how at the bottom of the contributions page, there is a link to the pie chart of your edits: how do you get that to be displayed on your user page?
  • Secondly, is there a way of automating citing articles that appear in Google Scholar? There used to be but it doesn't work, I've looked for a while and I can't find any instructions.
  • Thirdly, is there a way to automate things like saying "citation needed" or "more inline references needed"? It's tedious going into the articles and then trawling through the script again and again.

Thank you for your help :D RobertHannah89 (talk) 13:01, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Information[edit]

Hello

Thank you for your message regarding removal of link. I understand the removal of tag to an external link. However, this link is not an advertisement or soliciting. The external website contain true information about tabla notation. We are not selling anything nor trying to pursue anyone, but just giving the information. You can verify the external link and check for yourself. I am not that computer savvy as such I cannot edit pages on Wikipedia with special figures and sketches. May be you can help me on this issue. I will appreciate if you can reinsert the link. Thanks.

Regards,

Wikimedia Foundation[edit]

Hi DaGizza,

My name is Patricia. I'm working with the Wikimedia Foundation this summer to learn about the histories of different Wikipedias. You can read about the project here. You probably don't know this, but you were one of the first users to register on Hindi Wikipedia and one of the most active of those early users. Any chance you'd be willing to talk with me about your experiences editing? I'm especially interested in what you feel like are the differences between the Hindi and English Wikipedias. I'm sure seeing Hindi Wikipedia grow, even though you've not done any editing over there in about a year, you've got some great insight!

If you'd be willing to talk to with me please send me an email at hindiwikipedia@gmail.com or just leave a message on my talk page. Thanks so much! Cloudmessenger (talk) 21:47, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki Followup[edit]

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Late this week or early next would be just fine. You're helping me out so I'm happy to work around your schedule. I've put some basic questions on my Hindi talk page so you can get a sense of what I'll be asking.

I'm in the UK right now, so there's a 10 hour time difference between us. A Skype chat would probably be best or we could IM.

Cheers! Cloudmessenger (talk) 10:25, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading Images[edit]

My God! They just want to make AS HARD AS POSSIBLE to upload an image. No wonder Wikimedia Commons is essentially empty. All I want to do is upload a picture of Milton Friedman that was given to me by The Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice as a public domain image and I honestly don't have several hours to figure out how to document the image. The state of this system is so broken that Wikipedia does not even have a picture of the most famous economist of the 20th century.RobertHannah89 (talk) 00:34, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
