ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Samuel of Escaleta moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Samuel of Escaleta. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Thank you @HitroMilanese. I've added several more sources to the article which I hope show notability. I submitted the draft article about Samuel of Escaleta, but it was immediately rejected by @Shadow311 for not being written in the formal tone of an encyclopedia and not having a neutral point of view. I thought that the fact that the bulk of the article is from an entry in The Jewish Encyclopedia seems to show both notability and neutrality (and encyclopediability). Samuel of Escaleta is mentioned by name many times in Minchat Kenaot, which is a record of one of the biggest theological disputes in the 13th-century Jewish world.

Can you please advise on whether you think the article is salvageable. If not, I'll delete it, because I can't find any more sources. Commontater (talk) 16:06, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Its salvageable, just it was not written neutrally. I suggest just removing Non-neutral parts or rephrasing it to be in a neutral way. Shadow311 (talk) 16:10, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I went through the article of Draft:Samuel Sulami making it more encyclopedic and adding a lot more information and context than was in the original Jewish Encyclopedia article. I also changed the name of the article to reflect the more common usage. I have resubmitted it. I hope you will now be able to approve it @Shadow311.
