Teahouse response edited

Hi ColinFine. I'm going to leave it up to you to decide whether you feel this deserves some kind of warning. I think this editor probably means well, but I did warn them about WP:TPO before though that had more to do with removing the posts of others than editing the posts of others. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:29, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

A Flaneur

Thanks for your response Colin, and the info about Elli. You asked why I wanted and American Administrator. The topic being covered in the article "Product Liability Lawsuits" is a huge topic of major concern with U.S. manufacturers and their Executive Team, but has little significance in the UK and EU, and all your Editors have been from England ripping me and the article apart. And for what it's worth, I'm from all English ancestry.

A Flaneur (talk) 21:51, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Now I'm really puzzled, A Flaneur. As far as I can see, we have no article Product Liability Lawsuits, and you haven't edited any article in any way connected with that; in fact the only article you have edited was The Workshop for Non-Linear Architecture. If you are referring to your draft, I understood from its title that it was an article about a person. --ColinFine (talk) 12:28, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Colin The article draft I developed was titled "Randall Goodden", so if the draft isn't there then someone removed it. I never did anything with "The Workshop . . . " article, nor ever heard of it.

A Flaneur (talk) 12:38, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Yes, A Flaneur. The draft Draft:Randall Goodden is still there, and purports to be about a person (yourself, I understand), not about "product liability lawsuits". I don't see any reason why the nationality of editors should have any bearing on the matter, but that's up to you if you wish to pursue it. And your very first edit was a minor punctuation edit to the article I mentioned: look in your User contributions. --ColinFine (talk) 14:13, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
As a matter of record, by no means all of the interactions have been with people from the UK. I am, and have tried hard to get then to understand. Diannaa and Oshwah are most assuredly from the same side of the Atlantic and are admins here. Jimfbleak is an admin and I believe from the US. Robert McClenon is a highly experienced reviewer, and I believe they are US based. They rejected the draft.
The editor is entitled to request help, certainly. I am concerned about the overtones in requesting editors based in a particular nation or having a particular nationality. I see that as borderline in terms of attracting criticisms about discrimination. That border starts to be crossed with the strange thought that product liability is unimportant in the UK or EU, thus implying favourable treatment from the USA. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 11:06, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
FiddleTimtrent, thanks for ping. As it happens, I'm a Brit. I've frequently been told that I know nothing about the article I've deleted, never before that I'm the wrong nationality...
Draft:Randall Goodden is clearly going nowhere, it's an autobiography with no in-line independent third-party sources, masses of spam links including to deprecated sites like YouTube, no Wikilinks and unashamedly self-promoting. He's clearly written exactly what he wants with no reference to our guidelines, and I would have deleted on sight, if it didn't seem slightly unfair that Ididn't spot the page myself. And of course, I'm not American, so what do I know? Cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:36, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
@Jimfbleak I wonder why I thought you were US. That shows the universal nature of Wikipedia.
As to unfairness, I think we are all allowed to fire at will. Another target remains, too, if you study the contributions. It might be better! FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 12:54, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Colin, apologies for taking over your talk page. FiddleTimtrent, thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:07, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
User:Timtrent - I am not a lawyer, but I am in the United States. Product liability law is a misfeature of the US legal system, at least in the majority of states that have not reformed it. Product liability lawsuits are sometimes valid, but are often attempts to confuse the jury and then get 40% of the award in legal fees. That is why he wants an American reviewer. This American reviewer rejected one version of the draft because the draft was a defective product, like a two-headed robot. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:28, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
User:A Flaneur - Are you here to contribute to Wikipedia, or only to promote yourself? If the latter, you would be well advised to maintain a much lower profile than you have, because you are annoying reviewers and admins, and seem to trying to make a case that you are not here to be constructive. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:28, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
@Robert McClenon see this diff where he states categorically This is the only article I'll ever do, so there's no future benefit for me in learning, except if it can help get this one accepted. Then I'll be done. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 15:37, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

To avoid taking up more of Colin Fine's page and time please all see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Randall Goodden whih os probably the correct venue for opinions om this matter.

My apologies to CF for our usurping of your talk page. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 08:17, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Help Desk message regarding Draft:Aavas Financiers

Hi ColinFine. Thank you for the explanation you gave to the company person regarding the draft of "their" article. I think it summed up the situation perfectly. Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle (talk) 22:16, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Feedback Request

Hi there! I have recently made a request for an assessment of the article Puppetry of the Penis on various Wikiprojects. I have been editing this article for over a month for a university class, adding almost 3000 words, new sections, an infobox, media and more references for verifiability. I noticed you were a very active (and helpful) editor on Treehouse, and was wondering if you had the time if you could have a look at the article and provide me any feedback. Any general feedback would be much appreciated and possibly an assessment of the article for importance and quality. Thank you very much. Rubyredgirl (talk) 10:44, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your appreciation, Rubyredgirl, but that's not an article I care to spend any time with. --ColinFine (talk) 13:22, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
That is totally fine, thank you for taking the time to reply. Good luck with your editing and I hope you have a lovely day! Rubyredgirl (talk) 02:40, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Sunshine

Sunshine!
Hello ColinFine! Interstellarity (talk) has given you a bit of sunshine to brighten your day! Sunshine promotes WikiLove and hopefully it has made your day better. Spread the sunshine by adding {{subst:User:Meaghan/Sunshine}} to someone else's talk page, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. In addition, you can spread the sunshine to anyone who visits your userpage and/or talk page by adding {{User:Meaghan/Sunshine icon}}. Happy editing! Interstellarity (talk) 20:10, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Happy first day of summer, ColinFine!! Interstellarity (talk) 20:10, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks

Dear Colin, I just wanted to thank you for your vote and constructive comments regarding the article IPA2. I wish you success and all the best. -DrMoslehi 22 September 2006, 03:47 (UTC+3:30)

Dear Colin,
I really did not get the impression you had wanted to keep my article and soothe my feeling, etc. I just thanked for the time you spent giving your opinion (to contribute to Wikipedia) and the instructions you gave (to guide others how to contribute). In case of Shashank, I just thanked to be grateful and when I used 'fan-style' I used the exact description. I did not give my opinion on whether showing fan-style support is good or bad (although you might think it as a kind of confirmation which in this case I really did not mean). -DrMoslehi 26 September 2006, 04:08 (UTC+3:30)

Dear Colin,

Many thanks for your prompt reply to my Wikipedia query, made earlier today!

Yours sincerely,

John L Bell

Thanks for your precious feedback of the song of John Barleycorn ( Must Die ) which is actually a folk song in the Roud index. However, as i know, it was re-arranged by Traffic ( the prog rock group of the 70's ) 's Steve Winwood into this magnificient video

Thanks again for your attention.

Thankyou so much sir Pra2310 (talk) 11:38, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
