Proposed deletions[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the articles freespace controller, uWand, and Wand (freespace controller), suggesting that they be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe the articles satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summaries or on the articles' talk pages. Also, please consider improving the articles to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notices will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the articles may still be deleted if they match any of the speedy deletion criteria or they can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where they may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. "Placeholders"[edit]

We don't do "placeholders" here. If there is no article, there is no article. "Placeholders" can be deleted at any time as lacking meaningful content. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:52, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My general advice is, don't put in anything until and unless the subject has achieved some solid notability, just for the sake of completeness. After all, Wikipedia is not a directory listing; and there is no "deadline" by which new items must be listed here. So, yeah, I'd go back and pull all that stuff. Remember, neither "worthwhile" nor "interesting" is synonymous with "notable." If and when these things get notable, then create the articles. This isn't like the software industry, where you make the T-shirts first, then issue a press release, then start to actual work. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:32, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
LOL. Not as bad as that. The system is live and functional :) I'll let the article delete itself after the time period suggested, unless we get notable in the next seven days! Looking at the notability guidelines I think your suggestion is right regards inclusion as an article, but that it merits an entry (as a line in a list) under visual programming languages. This (to my mind) and in common with many other lists in the computer science area, is intended to be a reference list of attempts made to create visual programming languages, which is itself a notable concept, even if our project is not.
