Thanks for uploading File:IPG Photonics Logo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you took this photo, you can fix the copyright issue by putting the tag {{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}} on the image page. I fixed this for you. When you upload images, read the upload page carefully, and choose the correct options based on the ownership of the image. Wikipedia requires all images to have a "tag" that indicates the copyright status of the image, and how we have rights to use it (under license, via "fair use", etc.) Images that lack these tags get automatically deleted after a short time. In this case, you should have selected "a logo of an organization" on the upload page, and on the subsequent information page filled in the name of the article where the image is to be used. You also needed to select "logo" in the licensing drop-down box.

Yeah, I know, that's complicated. There are people around who can help you. If you upload another image and can't figure out how to deal with the tagging, put "{{helpme}}" on your talk page (here), followed by a description of what you need help with. IPG Photonics: continued problems[edit]

You are posting materials and making edits that lead other editors to suspect that you work for IPG, either directly or as an Investor Relations/PR worker of some sort. Such editors are basically banned from directly editing articles except in very limited circumstances. I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: it leads one to suspect that you work for a firm called "SMA Investor Relations", at least one representative of which has been editing on the same article that you are (IPG Photonics). After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.

Since there was information posted already, I wanted to add in some more factual information and expand upon the entry. I can cite/backup several of the statements made. I do not want to add any promotional material or language.

Also, I wanted to get the IPG address unblocked. Other people connected to this IP address (through a server) view and edit pages personally and not with affiliation to this office. In order to comply, I will cease to use Wikipedia and this account to edit articles.

Dear Mangojuice, I have read and I agree to Wikipedia's Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest. I agree to not create articles, not edit articles relating to the conflict of interest, not push or not try to persuade people, and will ask for help and advice from an administrator if I have a question. For the Wikipedia community, I will cease using this account. I am still new to Wikipedia, and am sincerely sorry for the inconvenience to the community. Ok, I've changed your block settings so you can create a new account. The IP is blocked due to autoblocking; it's disabled but there are often glitches that can interfere with editing anyway, but those should clear themselves up within 24 hours. Mango juice^talk 18:04, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
