Speedy deletion of Franklinsquires[edit]

A tag has been placed on Franklinsquires requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Franklinsquires has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Claud "Rick" Koerber[edit]

You're doing a good job of sourcing some of the article's more problematic assertions; thank you. Can you find sources that don't lean so much on the Osborne book and article? Frankly, they don't sound like even remotely reliable sources. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:24, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 22:07, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

test[edit]

The best way to start learning how to use Wikipedia is to start small. Don't try to jump in and create a new article right away, as there are a myriad of policies and guidelines that must be kept in mind when creating an article from scratch. There are a huge amount of articles on Wikipedia that are in need of cleanup, copyediting, or expansion. Performing those tasks on articles is a great way to learn about how Wikipedia works as a prelude to writing your own.

As far as the deletion of the articles that you created goes, Wikipedia has policies and guidelines that govern that as well. One particularly important one is called the criteria for speedy deletion. This policy says that if any article meets any single one of these criteria, it may be deleted by any administrator immediately. The article about Franklin Squires, LLC that you wrote, to me, was written with a promotional tone, had poor references, and did not seem to assert the subject's notability. Those three things qualified it for speedy deletion under criteria G11 and A7. There are also two other article deletion processes as well; one is called PROD, for proposed deletion, and the other is called AFD, for articles for deletion. PROD is basically a notice that is put at the top of an article and if nobody objects in 5 days, the article is deleted. AFD is a community discussion where consensus to keep or delete the article is reached in 5 days.

The reason that you received a warning from me for the Franklin Squires article is because you have recreated it with nearly identical content 4 times now. Typically, that is how spammers on Wikipedia act; they create multiple articles with nearly identical content in a very short timespan to promote their company, person, product, service, etc. If you want to create an article and have time to work on it as well as get feedback, create it under your own userspace, for example at User:Bumblebee91/FranklinSquires. You can work on it there without risking it being speedily deleted, and when you're done move it into the main article space. Let me know if you have any more questions. AfD nomination of Claud "Rick" Koerber[edit]

Claud "Rick" Koerber, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Claud "Rick" Koerber satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Claud "Rick" Koerber and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Claud "Rick" Koerber during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Ioeth (talk contribs friendly) 14:45, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
