Fair comment 63.197.134.218, but why not substitute a different place holder, and/or discuss it here, as its a template work in progress in a sandbox not on the main pages. Any comment re companies and sections would be more appropriate than a anonymous edit to the tables formating --BulldozerD11 (talk) 10:56, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria, and a few other things[edit]

Hey Bully. great work with this. Just a few questions for you: First of all, I assume that there's only one forgemasters, and they already have an article here. If you want the templete to read Sheffield Forgemasters Company, you can edit it to [[Forgemasters|Sheffield Forgemasters Company]].
Secondly, do you plan to create all these articles, and how do you propose they get past the inevitable rush of deletions? May be worth enlisting the help of WP:Sheff
Finally, can I ask what your criteria for inclusion are? For example, why do you have Stones Brewery, but not Wards, Abbeydale and Whitbread? Why Home Office but not DWP, DIUS and DCSF? Are there reasons, or are these omissions? L.J.Skinnerwot|I did 11:54, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just included the ones I thought of / or that had come across articles for, which was why there was loads of place holders xxxx left originaly (how do you get the bold Dot ?). One reason for creating it was that i found several articles related to steel co's not linked to Sheffield, The economy section is very narrow with not a lot of reference to old co's. By grouping them in industries it could be creat one article for all the breweries say with a section for each ?
See WP:Sheff for ref to this trial table, asking for comments. Some of the cos I have info, but the "correct" referecing to suit the zealous brigade is a pain, as they like to delete stuff before it grows to a critical size, theres loads of 1-5 line entries with no links or categories other than being part of some industry project. But if some ones started them others can build and tie them in which is one of wikis 1 principles, yet gets ignored by some with the "wiki sensorship" police hat on. :( Ive loads of Info for all sorts but I,m also edditting 250+ articles on the Tractor Wikia I started, after leaving the Housing Wiki after most of my Sheffield article were deleted. The question is to create a few great articles or lots of starter article.
There is aload of steel co related articles but they are not tied to Sheffield, so one thing was how to tie them in with the Sheffield article. Different areas have differing styles like some of the district article have litel history but loads of modern local interest stuff which some argue is of little encylopedic content value.
Looking for feed back on the table as it gets past the "List are frowned on" concept, but links a lot of info without drivelling prose around it.-- BulldozerD11 (talk) 14:27, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
