Ukrainian football league system

Do you think that we should merge Ukrainian football league system article into Football in Ukraine or leave it as a separate article? Ceriy (talk) 00:29, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

I think it should be part of the Football in Ukraine article. --Boguslav (talk) 23:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: Map of Ukraine

Thanks. It is the usual way I put maps into articles. :-)

As for Kharkiv, I didn't know that they actually do not play in Kharkiv right until now. Nevertheless, I would leave the map as it is because it could lead to confusion.

The documentation for the Location map templates can be found here. There is currently an improvement drive for those templates under way as well, executed by the team of the German Kartenwerkstatt. A list of updated maps can be found here.

Just a matter of curiosity. You didn't enter the latitude and longitude coordinates? Did you have a tool?
I used the latitude and longitude info given in the Wikipedia articles of the cities (which can be converted into decimals by just clicking on them, opening a GeoHack site in the process). If those are not available, I rely on good old Google Earth. Hockey-holic (talk) 20:35, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

As for the caption, I simply forgot to change it. You are correct, it should read something like "Locations of teams in the Ukrainian Premier League 2008-09.

Finally, I put the "whole day edit" template on the top of the page since there were recent edits involving just one game of a day instead of all games. If you have some script working that automatically commits the updates, or people that do clean-up at the end of each day, the template can of course be removed.

Keep up the good work! Hockey-holic (talk) 16:16, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Questions on Ukrainian Football

I started to do the table for Bruha liha B that way because I wanted to make articles about Kremin similar to Chelsea and Arsenals articles so I copied how Premier League table was. I think it is easier to maintain tables sat up this way. Ceriy (talk) 18:51, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for considering me:) Frankly, I care less in what format those leagues are, but I do find the previous type much easier to duplicate for the historical purposes. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 02:03, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

I answered for you on my talk page.--Ahonc (Talk) 21:01, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Ukraine/Ukrainian Football move all of the talks there. Ceriy (talk) 02:23, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

FC Kharkiv

I just wanted to show who is not much familiar with the League that this team even though is named such plays its games in Sumy and probably stays there for training. I put name not because of the name change. There was no such and I am aware of that. I change so, because that is the fact. I apologize if that gave you any discomfort. Promise dont hack it anylonger;)Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 03:12, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

There is enough annotation now on both maps to definitely clarify the name of the team FC Kharkiv and where it plays.
Just for all of our benefit - things like this are worth bringing up for debate in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ukraine/Football talk area (Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ukraine/Football). There are plenty other debatable issues. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 03:23, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Round-by-round table @ UPL 2008-09

I noticed that the current PL article features a Round-by-round table. Since such a table (as always) is rather complicated to maintain, you might want to have a look at this template (click on the "Edit" button and look at the code). This template is not listed in the Fb template directories as its creator has forgotten to list it in the appropriate category.

However, please take a look at this on-going discussion regarding rbr tables as well. The contributions to this discussion topic are rather low up to now, so more opinions are definitely welcome. Hockey-holic (talk) 12:42, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Interesting thread that you have started and I will give a few comments in on-going discussion. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 14:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
I took the liberty and adapted the existing template on the rbr table. www.kicker.de was used as a source because of the reason stated in the discussion. However, kicker's tie breaking schemes usually follow the one used in wide parts of Europe (Pts, GD, GF), so some round standings might be incorrect.
There are two ways of fixing this – either by providing an Ukrainian source which has similar capabilities like kicker, or by writing an e-mail to their stuff with the request of fixing the tie-breakers. The latter usually happens via their contact form. If you decide to do it this way (which would be easier imho), choose "Feedback zu kicker online" from the "Betreff" dropdown menu, type your message in the big box and provide your e-mail address in the "Absender" line.
It would be the best to give them some links to Ukrainian, non-cyrillic sources so that their stuff is able to reproduce the correct tie-breakers. If you need any further help with their page or something else, please drop a line at my talk page. Cheers, Hockey-holic (talk) 12:37, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Ukraine national soccer team

I thought it is worth to show everybody that there were players in Ukraine that contributed greatly to the Soviet team prior to Ukriane's independance as one might be under impression that Ukraine was without a soccer before 1992. The reason is that FIFA recognizes Russia as the direct "heir" of the Soviet football federation, leaving the other republics without their football heritage. Ukraine has pletora of all kinds of players throughout the years playing for the Soviet national team which for whatever weird reasons are being claimed as Russians. Let's face it, what Ukrainian section that you have mentioned can actually exist? I do not see why those tables were giving a wrong impression to the reader of the historical contribution of Ukrainian players in the team for which they were playing. Calling Blokhin as the Russian archivists do the best Russian player is way off. I am not trying to argue with you, but rather to defend or justify my idea. I promise not to make any corrections in that regard unless we will find some common ground. best regards, Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 08:30, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Your intent is may be good, however the national teams of Ukraine and CCCP are completely separate and have their own entries. While you point out that Russia is heir apparent to the CCCP there is nothing stopping you or others to document in the Soviet sections of wiki about Ukrainians or other ethnicities about their contributions. Russians should also be considered heir apparents to the problems that CCCP caused historically to those ethnicity that they had subjugated. I noticed that in the "See also" section there already exists a link for Ukrainians in USSR national football team. AFAIK that is a good connection to the past - but to list those CCCP players in the same sub heading in the Ukraine section or even on the same web page is way off. They simply don't belong in there because they NEVER represented Ukraine since independence. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 13:37, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Why did your remove results: [1]?--Anatoliy (Talk) 14:46, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

World Cup record table

For total record it states some strange number, 1/18. I assume that it's for times when it qualified out of the total number of all World Cup competition. If it is so, is it fair to consider those competitions for Ukraine where it had no chance to compete from statistical and sport point of view? As of today, I believe, it has a single qualifiation out of three possible. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 18:26, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Have to agree with you. Could not possibly be 1 out of 18 because the Ukraine did not exist before 1991. Ridiculous! Brudder Andrusha (talk) 19:26, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Opinion welcomed

Soccer-holic and I are trying to improve league articles in general, especially when talking about colors used in league standings. We are thinking that codes (colors) should be unified and used in the same way in all articles. So take a look at this Soccer-holic's subpage: User:Soccer-holic/League season article, which explains parts which every league articles should consist of, as well as using the colors in the right order and code. Please leave your comments and improvements (if needed) so we can take the final proposal to the community on Wikipedia:WikiProject Football.

EDIT: Please post your comments here. SonjiCeli (talk) 15:18, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your contribution to the article about the league table. However, I'd revert your edit as you ignore the usage of (Q). It is a parameter for the qualified teams - in actual competition and round. Even that the teams do not sure their starting round in Europa League, then (Q) would not be added. It could easy to indicate that which is the qualification line and show the qualified teams. Most of the league articles except Ukrainian Premier League used this method to show. Raymond Giggs 14:03, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

The "Qualification and Relegation" column already specifies that the team has already qualified. The (Q) is redunant and has been put in the template for those who wish to use it.

Brudder Andrusha (talk) 14:23, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Specifying any information in the "Qualification and Relegation" column more than what is already known is futurism. Read the discussion in the Discussion about futurism and color designations Brudder Andrusha (talk) 14:46, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
I strongly oppose to this method, as it is not friendly. Raymond Giggs 07:22, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Ukrainian Premier League 2008–09. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Raymond Giggs 07:29, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

July 2009

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to UEFA Europa League 2009–10 qualifying rounds. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. – PeeJay 18:07, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Gold Cup

You referred me to Technical Rules No. 4. I would refer you to the same: No. 4(a) (i.e., the first tiebreaking criterion) says: "Greater number of points in matches between the tied teams." This is another way of saying head-to-head; obviously, points are not the same thing as goals (which is No. 4(b)). If you look at the Gold Cup website, their standings pages now reflect this as well: http://www.goldcup.org/page/GoldCup/Standings/0,,12802,00.html MrArticleOne (talk) 18:39, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Geographical location information

The reasons behind the removal are the following:

  • The content in these sections is already sufficiently displayed through the map. No need to explicitly repeat this, as most people are able to read a map.
  • The content is utterly trivial and only of interest for those people who have a combined interest in football, stats and geography. This group is naturally only a very small subset of the population of the Earth. Therefore, broad interest in the content, even among football-interested readers, cannot be assumed; WP:TRIVIA and WP:NOT#IINFO can thus be applied.
  • If a reader is interested in the Ukrainian regions (or German Bundesländer or Spanish autonomous regions or similar administrative units), he is usually going to access them through the respective country article, not via any other place.

By the way - no need to be aggressive. After all, there was no personal insult involved, and my username is not PeeJay. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 11:52, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Disagree. This article is tied to the Ukraine Wiki Project not just the general football project. The map of Ukraine is divided by regions (or oblasts) as they are called in Ukrainian. Those regions are not easily identified by just looking in the map and anyone who would want more clarification could use the links in the regions table to help access them. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 12:09, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't think that this argumentation can be used. Almost every league article is bound, if available, to the WikiProject of its nation. However, the primary focus of these articles clearly lies on football and not on the countries of the leagues. The connection between these two topics is made by the title, the mentioning of the country in the lead paragraph of the article and the map (which already is a bonus for the majority of articles as it is only implemented for more recent seasons in most cases). Anything going beyond is just information overkill. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 12:59, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
The connection of pages is not clear cut. You as someone who only really cares about football pages on WP has his views how things should interrelate. I as a Ukrainian see this area (a football competition in Ukraine) as part and parcel of the country. And hence my focus of inter connecting with Ukraine as just as important. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 13:59, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

^-)

I shall spend my time on Wikipedia as I wish. If I wish to spend it futilely reverting edits that are contrary to policy, then I will do so. Your vendetta against me for something that doesn't really affect you in any way is frankly laughable. – PeeJay 19:20, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

How is it counter-productive? The match result is not ratified until the referee submits his report to the relevant association, so any changes that take place between the start of the game and the submission of the report are plainly wrong. If you have a problem with this, take it up with the people who draft Wikipedia policy and the IPs who keep mistakenly reverting me. Either way, your problem with me is misplaced. – PeeJay 19:28, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Your negative attitude towards me has been reported at Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts. Please remain civil at all times, whether you think you're in the right or not. – PeeJay 19:38, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

"Live" Match Scores

Please do not update scores as they are being played. Besides Wikipedia being not a source of news, that type of activity is contrary to the policy towards sporting event articles. (talk? BWilkins ?track) 20:59, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I think you should investigate the individual User:PeeJay2K3 who brought these so call infringements and ask him why is allowed to get away with live updates and others are not. On Sunday August 9, 2009 during the 2009 FA Community Shield the same individual made 15 live updates during the match between 14:58 and 16:05 History - last 100. Hence it seems that this individual is quite hypocritic in his approach to live updates - as long as it he who is doing them. Obviously there is a double standard which this individual uses to harass those on WP so as to control who and what is doing the updates in real time. In regard to live update of sports events that are being played there are numerous events i.e. 2009 PGA Championship (not completed yet), 2009 Wimbledon Championships - Gentlemen's Singles that are updated here on WP without being dragged through Wikiquette and subject to stringent WP:Policy_Check. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 01:38, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
First, please keep all of this discussion on your talkpage - I am monitoring it for replies. Please be advised that I investigate all sides of the issue - and looked carefully at edits from both sides. Just because you believe someone else does something, does not mean that you can - in fact, the other editor you mention has been made aware of the policy as well. It also does not excuse any form of incivility. I'm holding off giving you a level 2 warning for your incivility, as I believe that the entire situation is related to live updates - if you both stop that, there will be no need for any blockings, will there? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:20, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Just because you believe someone else does something, does not mean that you can...

So are you saying that certain people here can get away with breaking policy? Please show where you informed the other user of the policy, in particular refering to his live updates of 2009 FA Community Shield. I would like to have this as evidence in case of future incidents. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 12:30, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Druha Liha updates

Thank you, for this intersting fact, but the truth is that I take all the information from the PFL official cite. I am not stating that scores were right, though, they, probably, were wrong. Nonetheless, your reflection upon the ua-football is interesting. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 18:04, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

I am sorry, I could be wrong. The PFL has a link to the supposably live updated scores and that match is identified as 90'. Are you tracking the updates of the league? I promise not to interfere unless offered. Agreed? Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 17:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Like, dude! Oh, man, I just noticed that PFL has a quicklink to ua-football on their website. I thought it's their own. I was also wondering what is the deal with so few games scheduled for this weekend. My bad :) Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 17:34, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Serhiy Kravchenko

There are two footballers named Serhiy Kravchenko, one from Dynamo and one from Hirnuk-Sport Komsomolsk. http://gornyak-sport.net/komanda/turchin/ How would it be best to rename the article on Kravchenko from Dynamo so that we can have on for Hirnuk- Sport also? I was thinking of adding MF and FW to their names. Ceriy (talk) 19:01, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Pryvit! From what I've seen on WP is that they use year of birth here unless its the same then I would you your suggestion. Something like Serhiy Kravchenko (1983) for the Dynamo player. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 19:13, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Ukrainian national team

Hey, Andrusha!

Listen, the reason I put those signs in the code 'break-clear' is because the arrangement of the blocks is off-key, at least when looking through IE or Mozilla. Why are you taking them off? Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 02:32, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Those table had been arranged in 2 column x 2 row schema for awhile. I don't understand why you are seeing it as off-key. I'm using MS IE V6.0.2009.5512 which is what is packaged with MS XP SP3 and I have had NO problems seeing the arrangement of blocks. I've made an example in my sandbox. Check it out... Now the reason why they were put in the first place is because of the waste of space on the right hand side of the page when viewing the information. In the 2 column x 2 row schema the information is concise and readily available without scrolling. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 10:54, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Very good. But I am not inventing stuff when I say about "off-key". The arrangement of the blocks is not aligned and distorts the following section as well. I use IE 8. Maybe that is the problem :), but the fact is that the problem exists and there could be other people beside me watching the page. Maybe we could find some consensus on that. Do those marks really make the page "out of whack" ? Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 11:51, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

I created a table in table with a 2 column x 2 row schema sandbox. See if that is better now. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 16:19, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

An apology

I did not copy a "full reference" from Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko to the article Ukraine national football team but only it's name to save some time because usually AnomieBOT rescues references, unfortunately I achieved the opposite... Sorry about that... Per (some) wikiguideline English sources prevail here I do believe. — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 20:07, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

No problems. I was looking for an English version of this report, either FIFA or UEFA but because it just happened in YKPAIHA today the local sources are quick with the news. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 20:11, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

2009–10 Ukrainian Premier League

I apologize for making a mess with the page time every time. Did you see me separating the regular home fields from other, for emergency accommodation? About the hat trick, I thought it was worth of mentioning as it is not a frequent occurrence. It was the first one of the season (I really checked). Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 04:50, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I have noticed you changes and I did some modifications keeping what is relevant and consistent for the season. Again what is still there is debatable whether it remains. The section on Auxiliary Stadiums is possible for reversion because as you pointed out RSK Olimpiyskiy was NOT a temporary accommodation but their actual home ground until Donbas Arena was opened. So it should return. The other two stadiums used by Arsenal should also return to the list because there is enough information in the Notes column to indicate the reason why they were used. Also consistency is important as previous seasons of the Premier League don't distinguish other used stadiums in separate lists. This also is the case about the hat-trick which Devic scored is more in realm of WP:TRIVIA and WP:NOT#STATS. Again this information was not listed or noted in past seasons nor is it noted in other leagues in Ukraine. There is enough information in the page that is of value and that it is concise and easily managed. For more information external websites should be the place to garner statistical information. Of course, everything is debatable - and on the whole the quality of the page is not worse than other frequently updated seasonal competitions. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 13:09, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

About Maicon

Hello, somebody add Maicon in Ukr.First League as person, that scored 7. But I now only about 6. Is it mistake?--Noel baran (talk) 19:57, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

I have him scoring in R17, R18(2), R22, R23(pen), R24(2 pen) - That is 7 goals (3 pen). PFL has 4 penalties. Also it would be good if you could create a player article for him. He has had a good season and has also scored in the Kubok competition. We have dead links all over the place for him. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 20:11, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

First League

Can you check Muxovykov and Pavlov as actually scoring 8 goals thus far? I have Muxovykov at 7 goals and Pavlol at 6 goals. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 17:09, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

I not shure about this, but, I saw it at FFU Off. Site for Pavlov. But now I cheked it: too much mistakes (like in my English:(). Concretly: I take these 6 scorings and add 2 todays=8. Please, corrected it in right way! Excuse me--Noel baran (talk) 18:45, 3 May 2010 (UTC).
I saw that PFL updated the goalscorer list as well... Ill go through the "PFL kalendar" and see what I find. I'll post it here. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 19:24, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
I hadn't update my list for Volyn's 4-0 win on April 29 when Pavlov scored twice. Also for Muxovykov I had him misspelt so my search engine was always missing a goal for him. All is good - thanks. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 14:11, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Ok, but if you see something wrong - I all time glad about you corrections!--Noel baran (talk) 15:42, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Club seeding for 2010-11

Where did you get Tavriya and Karypat in the ranking? Or did you simply assume that those teams would have the rank of the country they represent? Well, for the next season Ukraine will not have the numbers it obtained five years ago and, thus, pushing it a little bit up and so all of its clubs. When you press 2011 at the kiessa's site, it actually will be the initial rank for the clubs and Ukraine for 2011. Wouldn't you agree? That is why there is no clubs that you implemented. The ranking is complete and can be considered to be just another page in the history of the European football. Tavriya and Karpaty enter the European competitions and they will appear at the kiessa's site for 2011 ranking after the seeding will be done. By the way Ukraine starts the new season ahead of Russia at the sixth place. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 03:06, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Because Tavriya and Karpaty are performing in Europe for the first time in five years they take the default coeffcient value of what Ukraine has. Take a look at the seeding of Ukrainian teams in the Europe League for the 2010–11 season - here at Kassies site and you will see the values. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 17:47, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Re:questioning your edits

Brudder Andrusha, you asked me two questions on which I will gladly answer. The first question was in the regards of play-off games that are supposed to take place and the second was in regards to me putting the European performance of the clubs of Ukrainian Premier League.

  1. The reason I included the information about the play-off games is because a decision was reached during one of the meetings of the Central Council of PFL. There on the proposition of the president of PFL Balchos the council decided to organize a such event. It was also decided that this intermediate competition is planned to take place the next year as well. I included the reference link to the Central Council's meeting release where you can check that information. It is not a proposition, as such came up about six months ago, but rather a decision that was accepted and awaits the completion of its organizational phase.
  2. The reason I include the European performance of the clubs of Ukrainian Premier League is because it is part of the League's calendar and the clubs of the League represent it at the continental competitions. Unlike other competitions the European performance also influences the development of events within the league. For example, Anatoliy Puzach was fired due to the fact that Dynamo yielded to Anderlecht 0:3 at home and 1:7 on aggregate (if I'm not mistaken). Mircea Lucescu stays as the head coach of Shakhtar more due to the successful performance of the Miners on the European Arena, rather then domestically. Besides, it is the members of no other league, but the premiers that participate in the continental competitions, except for the domestic cup representatives. The European competitions are also one of the main goals for almost any club and they are fully depend on the performance of the clubs at their domestic leagues. Also I included that section to filter it out from the main article which can be referred to for the further information. Note that the section is very simple and only identifies the clubs that during the season participated an the European competitions.

Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 14:50, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Okay. I guess when the new format will take place, my inclusions won't be so baseless. Just for the heads up, here is an interview of Balchos to UA-Football where he also mentions the fact of the play-off match (on June 28) [2]. Even though the games of the season have finished that does not necessarily means that the season is completely finalized as numerous other administrative issues might come up that will influence the further developments. In regards to the European performance of the Premier leauge's clubs, I do not see how it actually interferes with the information on a respected season beside serving a supplemental functions. Ukrainian Football

Hi

Please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Ukraine/Football#Ukrainian_Football_articles

thanks Chaosdruid (talk) 17:23, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Dear Brudder Andrusha, if you see for article Artem Kychak, this write: "An automated process has detected that the contents of this page may have been copied from the following web page: http://en.euro2012.ukrinform.ua/comments/9481/?PAGEN_1=9 This may be a potential infringement of the copyright of a third-party..." etc.

What it's mean??? I created this article as other, not used http://en.euro2012.ukrinform.ua/comments/9481/?PAGEN_1=9--Noel baran (talk) 14:22, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

As long as you are using references that are available from a source such as ua.football then the bot has obviously mad an error. I check the website that it refers to and it is "404 not found" which kind of suggests that the page that its trying to reference. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 02:24, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

YKPAIHA U-21

Pryvit! You made a modification in the Ukraine U-21 for the squad about recent callup which should really be the last time played for the U-21. Recent call up training is not repesenting the National Team in a game. Can you move that information to another area which exists - "Preparatory squad" because that is what it exactly is? Brudder Andrusha (talk) 09:04, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Moyi vitannya! Excuse me, but I did it at the same way as, for example, for Brazil national football team, when some footballers were called-up for training session. Some part their played previously, some - never were called-up at all. But we did "Preparatory squad" when all footballers never called-up of plays for team. But, if you want removed it - I say nothing against it! Sincerely,--Noel baran (talk) 10:42, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Round by round table (Ukrainian Premier League)

That is a good point in regards to references, but round by round table I assume is based on the standing table which in turn shows that in example of the current standings Metalurh Zaporizhia will be placing 16th for couple of rounds unless any administrative corrections to the table will take place. Considering that the table is based on the standing table it in fact has some references. Is it not? Metalurh is seven points behind the struggling Sevastopol and considering its game game form there is a good chance that the club will relegate out of the premiers. There is no way the club will change its rank in the standings at least for the next couple of rounds unless some other clubs will be charged with heavy administrative infringements. I saw your notice about the table, but did not get to what exactly you were referring. I do not see anything wrong with prorating the "round by round" standings if a certain rank for the club is secured. Similarly when the national champions are proclaimed couple of rounds before the finish if the club has secured the first place in rankings. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 14:03, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

It is exactly that the future, in particular rounds that need to be played are not known even though we think that positions will not change. It deals exactly that no reference is available that the team in fact will be some position in a future round. That is why references are the first and foremost reliable source to be include in wiki. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 16:49, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Romania/Sweden

I'm not agree, because 23-persons squad was called up for match against Romania, and now, 21-persons - against Sweden. In what way I or you or somebody will do updating in evening? Upd Feb.09, but squad called up Feb.08??? nonsense - for everybody, who occasionally visit this page it'll be strange. I VERY propose to back previous variant!--Noel baran (talk) 17:55, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Think of it this way! Will you change the squad when it is announced for Euro 2012? The UFF called up 23 players for 2 matches and that is the squad that was announced for the first game. It was unknown who Ukraine would play after that announcement. The recent call is clear that the friendly matches are for a specific tournament with is over 2 days. Ukraine has played in this tournament before and the same editing and notation was used. Please leave!!! Brudder Andrusha (talk)

Awards section in Ukrainian Premier League

The entries that you created for the "Awards" section in the 2010–11 Ukrainian Premier League are going to be deleted because they have nothing to do with the Premier League season. There are players there that don't even play in the Ukrainian Premier League. Those kind of entries belong in a new entry such as 1994–95 in Ukrainian football or 2010–11 in Ukrainian football. You better save all that hard work that you did because it will disappear. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 17:43, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

How is it that the awards have nothing to do with the league if most of the players do play in the league and it's their performance that contributed to the awards? I do agree that it could be separated and it should be into a different article per se. There you are right. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 18:51, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
Just because some of the players play in the league does not suffice that information be present in the entry. All the selection of the team is from a group of readers from a website and NOT the official Premier League website. The individual players can have some information in their own pages that they got the award - but it is NOT a PREMIER League Award. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 19:04, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Your logic is indeed solid, no argument in that. However, are we ought to completely disregard a public opinion of the league performance and its members? What about the third-person sources that Wikipedia requires? Ua-football.som is a well established and quite trusted website with some substantial audience, numerous football personalities post their blogs on it among which are Viktor Leonenko, Maxim Shatskikh, Miletiy Balchos, and many others. The evaluation of the awards is based on the performance of players and clubs during a calendar league and mostly in the Ukrainian Premier League (season calendar of which does correspond the regular year calendar, although) as well as the National Team. There is no other sources that is as clear in their evaluation/estimation of the Ukrainian football and Premier League, in particular, and not as consistent. How about instead of completely deleting it wouldn't it be rather sufficient to post a necessary Wikipedia template for the proposed split? In my opinion that would be more constructive way to approach the solution. What do you think? Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 21:01, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
