DON'T post your email address!!![edit]

See above - more help coming in a moment! But, really, don't. :) DBaK (talk) 17:52, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dealing with articles about yourself[edit]

Sorry about the quick response above. I thought it was worth saying first. Secondly, if you follow this link you'll find advice on how to get help to sort out your situation. Confidential stuff (like email addresses!) can be removed. Just stay cool and ask for help and you will find reasonable people who can give it. And you'd want to stay off legal threats, which can have an unfortunate effect! Hope this helps, good luck, DBaK (talk) 17:56, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Warnings[edit]

Looking at recent activity on the article Billy Ray Martin, there are several things I must warn you about:

  1. Wikipedia strongly discourages editors from writing or editing articles about themselves or their employers. (See WP:COI for more information.)
  2. If one editor is editing on behalf of another, they may be treated as if they are the same person. (See WP:MEAT for more information.)
  3. Neither the subject of an article nor their official representatives have any special authority in deciding how an article will be written. All editors are expected to follow dispute resolution and refrain from edit warring. (See WP:OWN for more information.)
  4. Legal threats are absolutely prohibited on Wikipedia. Threatening to take another editor to court for their actions will almost always lead to an indefinite removal of editing privileges.
  5. Editing from multiple accounts, or editing while logged in sometimes and logged out at others, can give the impression that one editor is several different people. Doing this unintentionally is discouraged, and doing this intentionally during a dispute will lead to blocks. (In short, choose one account, and stick to it.)
