My unsolicited advice is to keep asking questions, use edit summaries, and consider enabling navigation popups in your preferences. Categorization of people killed the Mahsa Amini protests
I removed those pages from Category:Mahsa Amini protests because they're already in the subcategory for the victims. The parent category is getting overpopulated as it is so I think it's articles should be separated per WP:DIFFUSE. Charles Essie (talk) 05:40, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Charles Essie, the subjects have articles because they have become symbols of the ongoing protests, and received wide coverage as more than victims or people killed. The nature of the coverage is why it does not appear redundant to include them in the protest category. When reviewing the guidance from WP:DIFFUSE and thinking about the sources generally, it seems to be a non-diffusing category. I am not particularly familiar with the inner workings of the categories system, but I am familiar with the content of these articles, and it seems helpful for readers and appropriate based on the content to keep these articles in the larger category. - Oh thanks, that's fascinating. I had created the stub during Pride 2021 in an effort to further catalog the Lesbian Bar Project organizations but info was thin.
